Chapter 34 Mirror of Erised

At night in Hogwarts, everything is sleeping in the darkness. Even the grandest festival and the most beautiful decorations cannot conceal its fantasy and mystery.

Wright went to the library at night, ready to enrich himself with two banned books. Suddenly, a sharp howl came from the banned book area.

When Wright heard the sound, he unconsciously checked his Disillusionment Charm and Deodorization Charm.

Suddenly I remembered that after Harry got the invisibility cloak, he started wandering at night and then found the Mirror of Erised.

"Last time, I didn't get to touch the Mirror of Erised because of Old Dumbledore's sudden appearance. I'll try this time, maybe I can get a mileage point!"

Wright waited until the noise ended, then moved towards the library. I remember it was an abandoned classroom, and the door was open!

With the advantage of frequenting the library, Wright found the abandoned classroom in a short time.

Wright slowly opened the classroom door, walked into the classroom and then closed the door again.

In the abandoned classroom, desks and chairs were piled up in a mess in the corner, leaving a huge open space.

In the middle of the open space stood an ornately decorated mirror, which was the Mirror of Erised that Wright had seen in Dumbledore's office before.

There was just a thin figure standing in front of the magic mirror. Harry stared at the mirror in a daze. Wright did not go over but just waited by the side.

"I will come back. Dad, Mom!" Harry looked at the mirror lingeringly, then turned and left.

After watching Harry leave the classroom, Wright canceled the Disillusionment Charm, slowly walked towards the magic mirror, and stretched out his right hand.

"Complete the mileage 'Mysterious Magic Mirror', and increase the mileage point by 1."

After receiving the information from the stone tablet, Wright stopped and prepared to leave. Then, as if realizing something, he lightly moved his feet and walked towards the magic mirror, completely exposing himself in the mirror.

Wright looked at himself in the mirror, his expression a little dazed. The magic mirror reflected his face in his previous life, which was handsome and energetic, with a gentle smile. His clothes were neat and tidy, exuding a sunny atmosphere.

"This is the adult I once wanted to be! An adult who is correct and sunny, confident and cheerful, who can solve any problem naturally and will not regret a decision once it is made. But it seems that I have never become such a person until my death!"

Wright looked at himself in the magic mirror quietly, with endless loss in his eyes.

'I may now understand why the magic mirror is so attractive, because it can show things that one knows are impossible.'

'Harry's lost family, Dumbledore's 'wool socks'. Because he knows he can't do it, he indulges in fantasy.'

'So I can't be who I want to be? Because I don't believe I can be that person.'

Wright understood the truth about the magic mirror and sighed deeply.

"So what do you see? Why are you sighing, Mr. Rags?" A gentle voice sounded behind Wright.

Wright turned around as if he had expected it.

Dumbledore looked at Wright with a smile on his face and seemed to have been standing there for a long time.

"I saw the best person in the world, someone I could never be. Just like you," Wright said in a flattering tone.

"I don't deserve the praise you're talking about. Can we have a chat, Mr. Rags?" Dumbledore raised his right hand slightly, and tables and chairs flew out of the classroom. They were placed firmly on the ground, and then the dust on the tables and chairs disappeared, and candies, cookies, desserts, and pumpkin juice appeared on them.

"Please sit down. You can eat something if you don't mind. After all, you must be hungry now." Dumbledore sat down first and invited him.

After thanking him, Wright also sat in the chair and started eating dessert.

"Professor, when did you come here?" Wright asked while eating a cake.

"I made some settings for this magic mirror. After all, it is a bit dangerous. Mr. Ragus, the Mirror of Erised can show what people desire most and most urgently."

"It's not as harmless as you think, it's dangerous."

Dumbledore warned Wright in a slightly warning tone.

"I understand that what it depicts will never come true. So I won't indulge in it." Wright said with an expression of seeing through the world.

"Is that so? You are better than I thought. Well, it's late, it's time to go back!" Dumbledore looked at the time and kindly began to drive the guests away.

After saying goodbye to Dumbledore, Light went straight back to the dormitory!

Back in the room, lying on the bed, Wright recalled the conversation he had just had with Old Deng.

"He will probably be there when Harry shows up. Old Dumbledore might suspect I have something to do with Voldemort!"

"After all, it's just such a coincidence. I've been following Harry around almost all the time, plus the 'Wu's Orphanage'. It's hard not to suspect me."

"But it's not a big problem. Old Deng is not a good person in the conventional sense, but as long as his bottom line is not touched, he is still willing to abide by the rules."

After Wright figured it out, he slowly felt relieved and fell asleep.

During the following Christmas holidays, Harry went to the Mirror of Erised twice more, and each time he came back disappointed and sad.

Wright did not go to the restricted area during this period, but continued to practice magic. After all, there was a dangerous person guarding there.

……

During the following Christmas holiday, Wright spent a peaceful time practicing magic whenever he had time. The effect was remarkable, except for the Fiery Curse which was still difficult to control, it was no problem to extinguish a small area!

After being enlightened by Old Man Dumbledore, Harry no longer ran to the magic mirror, but he would have nightmares every night after that.

The new semester is coming, and the little wizards return to school with the joy of the holiday.

The first thing Hermione did when she returned to school was to ask if any information had been found about Nicolas Flamel.

Harry took all the responsibility and told Hermione about the three days of night travel.

Hermione had mixed feelings after learning the whole story. She was worried that Harry had been out for three nights in a row and was almost discovered. She was also disappointed that she had not found out who Nicolas Flamel was.

Harry repeatedly assured Hermione that he would go to the library to look for news whenever he had a break.

However, with the start of school, Harry, the ace of the Quidditch team, was basically dragged to training whenever he had free time, so he didn't have much leisure time.

Time flies, and in the blink of an eye, school has already started for five days.

"So who is Nicolas Flamel?" Ron threw himself on the table in the library's reading area.

"I've seen it somewhere, I just don't know where." Harry flipped through the book frantically.

"Found it, this is it!" Wright put down the "History of the Development of Alchemy" in his hand and pointed to a certain place in the book.

"What? Let me see." Hermione took the book away as quickly as possible.

"Yes, yes. It's him, the Philosopher's Stone, immortality. It's him." Hermione said excitedly to Harry and Ron in a low voice.
