Chapter 349 Voldemort and Karkaroff

There are also some wizards who choose to remain neutral. They are different from ordinary wizards who choose to support and pure-blood wizards who firmly oppose.

They don't care about the implications of the 'Wand Registration Act'.

They just want to jump back and forth between "support" and "opposition" to gain benefits.

Then, they were attacked by Death Eaters and even their house was blown up!

Some people who were unlucky or had strong resistance had their ashes scattered.

This incident caused neutral parties who had been attacked or seen being attacked to support the 'Wand Registration Act'.

This once again made all wizards feel insecure, and they were all afraid that a Dark Mark would suddenly appear.

For a time, the entire wizarding world seemed to have returned to the white terror dominated by Voldemort.

……

In a shabby, cramped little room in the middle of nowhere.

Karkaroff has been hiding from place to place and is now like a homeless person.

He was holding a worn copy of the Daily Prophet, reading a report from long ago, his body trembling constantly.

Looking at the newspaper, it was a report on the day when Wright attacked Gringotts:

"Gringotts was attacked by a mysterious person, all the property was swept away, and all the Aurors of the Ministry of Magic were killed!"

The huge and eye-catching title made Karkaroff, who was already extremely frightened, even more terrified:

Placed in the middle of the newspaper was a huge photo of the event:

In the dark night sky, a man in a black robe with skin as pale as bones stood on the back of a huge fire dragon.

The skull that was spitting out a giant python had a pale green light shining above its head.

The following description made him want to find a hole to bury himself:

"The Ministry of Magic has been in a state of distress in recent years, the Quidditch world has been attacked, and the Triwizard Tournament has been plagued by problems."

"What's even worse is that on July 15th, at 11 o'clock at night!"

"Gringotts, an important economic center, was attacked, and even the goblins were slaughtered by the Death Eaters."

"Even when strikers and Aurors joined forces to enforce the law, they were beaten back step by step."

...

"A mysterious man rides a fire dragon... a giant fire snake...

"Dumbledore will come forward to solve it..."

……

"We need a stronger force to keep us safe."

Every time you turn the page, there is a shocking photo, with a huge fire snake, a battle scene that looks like ruins...

Almost all four pages of the newspaper were covered with photos.

"All the photos in the newspaper were provided by a certain Mr. Fudge who wishes to remain anonymous."

After Karkaroff finished reading the photo and the small text at the bottom of the newspaper, he couldn't help but mutter:

"Fudge!?"

"I remember that Britain's Minister of Magic was also called this. Was the person taking the photo his relative?"

Just as he was thinking, the door of the hut suddenly exploded, and a gloomy voice sounded:

"I finally found you, the fool who dared to betray me."

Hearing this voice that had always frightened him so much, Karkaroff was instantly froze in fear.

Just like an animal pretending to be dead to avoid its predator, he didn't dare to move at all.

The visitor's surging magic power continued to surge, causing his eyes to flash a bloody red light that was enough to illuminate the room.

A snake-like roar mixed with strange magic shot towards the stunned man: "Drilling bones and digging out hearts!"

"what!!"

Karkaroff curled up in pain and rolled on the ground.

The extremely miserable cries kept echoing in the shabby little room.

The torture lasted for more than ten minutes until Karkaroff could no longer make a sound.

Voldemort seemed to be bored and stopped using magic.

He casually glanced at Karkaroff, who was lying on the ground, his body twitching.

Suddenly, his eyes were drawn to the Daily Prophet spread out on the ground.

With a wave of his hand, the tattered newspaper that had fallen on the ground slowly flew up.

And under the effect of magic, the originally tattered and dusty newspaper was restored to its brand new appearance.

At first, Voldemort was reading the newspaper with great interest, but the more he read, the uglier his expression became.

After he finished reading the newspaper, violent magic power surged out instantly, directly smashing the newspaper into pieces.

Voldemort now has only one thought in his mind:

"Oops, I'm a stand-in?!"

At the same time, the terrifying out-of-control magic power continued to surge out of Voldemort's body.

Just when the raging magic was about to destroy the entire house, he finally came to his senses and regained control of the raging magic.

"What the hell is going on!"

"This doesn't match anything I've experienced before!"

"I just spent some time hunting to make up for the weakness of my body and spirit."

"How come something so big suddenly happened that I had no idea about!"

Just when Voldemort was puzzled, the twitching Karkaroff attracted his attention.

His eyes narrowed slightly, and he stretched out his hand again, grabbing Karkaroff's head directly.

Amid the sound of snakes buzzing, the enhanced Legilimency took effect on Karkaroff, who was twitching continuously.

Except for the memory of the 'Fire Dragon' which was obscured by the bird of light, all his memories were visible to Voldemort.

Until he saw Karkaroff's memory, appearing in the cemetery after the Triwizard Tournament.

After seeing the girl, who had only appeared once through the bird broadcast, Voldemort stopped searching his memory.

"Delphi?! Is she back from the future too?"

"Could it be that all the changes now are due to her?"

The more he thought about it, the more likely it seemed. Voldemort looked at the person who was still twitching instinctively.

After a moment's hesitation, he waved his hand and cast a spell to restore Karkaroff:

"Shameful betrayer, if I don't come looking for you, how long are you going to hide from me!"

After recovering, Karkaroff knelt down at Voldemort's feet, trembling with fear and not daring to speak.

Looking at the betrayer who was crawling at his feet again, Voldemort said in a cold tone:

"Karkaroff! I can give you one more chance to serve me."

"What can you give me?"

Karkaroff, who was crawling on the ground, trembled all over, an irrepressible smile appeared on his face, and he said flatteringly:

"My everything, great master!"

"Please accept my full loyalty, even though I am humble."

Voldemort looked at the flattering Karkaroff and felt extremely disgusted, as if he had eaten a dead rat.

But he still forced himself to calm down his extremely nauseous feeling and said slowly:

"I accept your loyalty again!"

"Now, I want you to use your connections and relationships to pave the way for me to Azkaban."

"Great Master, everything is as you wish!"

Karkaroff's flattering voice continued to echo in the shabby room.

But for some reason, Voldemort felt vaguely uneasy.
