Hogwarts Lion Girl
Chapter 12: Prison Bars
The atmosphere in the room became heavier because of the new iron bars. Harry could only look helplessly at the cold iron bars that separated him from the free world.
He knew that each iron bar was a concrete manifestation of his uncle's distrust and anger towards him.
The moonlight was like frost, shining through the window onto Harry's bed in patches.
Harry's heart seemed to be soaked in cold water, and every heartbeat dragged the heavy and cold water along. It was an underwater world of despair and loneliness.
His vision was blurry and tears silently slid down his cheeks, dripping and wetting the corners of the thick quilt.
In the moonlight cut by the iron bars, Harry felt like a bird trapped in an invisible cage, losing the possibility of flying into the free sky.
But in this ocean of loneliness, his only comfort is the magic wand that is stained with his countless memories and hopes.
In the dead of night, the powerless reality became blurred, and Harry's firm grip on the wand became a token of his persistence in learning.
The moonlight illuminated the textbooks he turned page by page, those ancient texts full of various mysteries and runes. He absorbed every line and every word devoutly and greedily.
As his understanding of magic deepened, he began to quietly cultivate a hope in his heart - to become stronger and completely grasp his own destiny. As long as he had enough power, he would not have to be helpless in front of the cold iron bars like he is now, and let the unreasonable behavior of the Dursleys become the rope that controls his life.
For countless days and nights, Harry traveled through the magical world. He observed, thought, and learned until he was exhausted.
On lonely nights, Harry would still unconsciously feel fear and uneasiness in his heart, but he understood that only by becoming stronger and fully controlling his own destiny could he break this invisible cage and move towards the vast world that belonged to him.
It was unknown how long this kind of day had passed. Being isolated from the outside world for a long time made Harry very insensitive to the passage of time.
The night was as dark as ink. Harry lay on the small bed in the room, breathing lightly. In his sleep, he seemed to be floating on the border between half awake and half asleep.
Suddenly, there seemed to be a subtle fluctuation in the air, and a rustling sound rang out softly, like a whisper passing through the ears.
It was a somewhat familiar voice, as if coming from the depths of distant memories, carrying with it an indescribable sense of nostalgia.
Although the voice was vague, it was like a key that inadvertently touched the memories hidden deep in Harry's heart.
He frowned slightly, the corners of his mouth twitched slightly, and he murmured something unconsciously, which seemed to be a dream talk, but also like a response to the voice.
Harry rubbed his sleepy eyes and felt the voice becoming clearer and clearer in his daze.
He sat up slowly, the world in front of him was still blurry. He stretched out his hand to wipe the mist in front of his eyes, and his vision gradually became clear.
The moonlight outside the window shines on the old iron railings, forming mottled light and shadows.
In this interweaving of light and shadow, a familiar figure appeared outside the iron railings, his red hair particularly eye-catching in the moonlight, it was Ron. He was wearing an oversized old-fashioned jacket, waving his arms at Harry with a relaxed smile on his face.
Ron's appearance was like a warm breeze, dispelling the coldness and loneliness in Harry's heart.
Harry couldn't help but smile. Although he was still a little sleepy, the excitement in his heart had overwhelmed all the fatigue. Harry's heart was pounding, and his legs seemed to be equipped with springs. He jumped out of the warm bed and ran to the window.
The wooden floor under his feet creaked because of his eagerness. The sound was particularly loud in the silence of the night, reflecting his excitement. As he ran, the hem of his pajamas fluttered in the wind. Harry didn't even bother to adjust his breathing, his eyes were fixed on the red light flashing in the night.
Finally, he came to the window and pushed open the wooden window. The cold night wind instantly poured into the room, but it could not resist the heat in his heart.
"Ron! Why are you here?" Harry asked in surprise, his voice full of disbelief and joy.
Ron just smiled slyly and replied, "Why, you don't welcome me? I risked my life to drive here in the middle of the night to see you." His voice pierced through the cold night sky, with a hint of playfulness and adventurous excitement.
Only then did Harry notice that Ron was in a flying car, an old Ford Anglia, its traditional blue paintwork looking a little faded in the dim moonlight.
Also in the car were his two older brothers, Fred and George, whose playful faces were filled with excitement and mischievous smiles.
They waved to Harry, looking extremely excited, as if this flight was the freshest and most anticipated part of their series of pranks.
Everything in front of him made Harry feel surprised and grateful.
For the first time in such a long time, he felt the warmth of being together with friends. This emotion went beyond the expression of words and melted all the ice in his heart.
"We were all very worried when we didn't hear from you all summer, Harry." Ron's voice was slightly reproachful, but it was more of a deep concern and care. His expression seemed to be mixed with confusion and anxiety.
Harry's heart was filled with surprise. He shook his head, a hint of confusion flashed in his eyes, and there was a slight tremor of doubt in his voice.
"Letter? But I really didn't receive any letters. I thought you all forgot about me." Harry's voice carried a hint of confusion. He looked into Ron's eyes, trying to find the answer in them.
Ron frowned, and he and Harry looked at each other, both of them with confusion and alertness in their eyes.
"Now is not the time to think about this." Ron changed his previous tone and became serious, "Let's get you out first."
In the night wind, Harry pursed his lips tightly, a look of helplessness and sadness appearing on his face.
"I have nowhere to go." His tone was heavy, like a traveler lost in a snowstorm, unable to find the way home.
But Ron was like a living beacon, dispelling the chill around him with his unique optimism and warmth.
"Live in our house! Darling, our parents will be so happy when they see us!"
Ron's voice was filled with pure joy, as if he had been prepared to play this role.
Ron's two brothers also joined in and helped persuade Harry to spend the rest of the holiday at their house.
Fred said, "Go pack your bags, we have to go home before dawn, or Mom will be mad."
"That's a terrible thing, you don't want to see it," George replied.
So Harry went to pack it up, clothes were folded and stuffed into the backpack, each item was carefully checked and categorized.
