Hogwarts Lion Girl

Chapter 142: The Teachings of Nicolas Flamel

The next morning, Salina came to Nick Flamel's study early.

The sun shines through the stained glass, casting colorful shadows on the floor, and the air is filled with the smell of old books and strange potions.

Nico Flamel was sitting in a velvet-covered chair, holding a heavy book in his hands.

"Ah, Serena, you're here."

Nico Flamel put down the book and smiled kindly, "Today we are going to learn how to make the Philosopher's Stone, which is one of the highest realms of alchemy."

Salina took a deep breath and suppressed her inner excitement.

The Philosopher's Stone, a magical item that is said to be able to turn stone into gold and grant immortality. Today, she finally has the opportunity to learn about its secrets.

In the next few days, Salina immersed herself in the world of alchemy, studying day and night without eating or sleeping.

Nicolas Flamel taught her everything he had learned throughout his life without reservation, from the most basic principles of alchemy to the method of making the Philosopher's Stone.

Salina is like a dry sponge, greedily absorbing the sweet rain of knowledge.

In addition to studying, Salina would have afternoon tea with Furong and Gabrielle. The three girls would chat about everything from the latest clothing styles to their favorite desserts and delicacies, and the time was filled with laughter.

Furong is elegant and charming, Gabrielle is innocent and lively, and Salina is quiet and introverted. These three girls with very different personalities have become good friends who can talk about anything.

……

Salina stared at the crucible intently. The liquid in the crucible was tumbling under the impetus of magic, flashing a dazzling golden-red light.

Fine beads of sweat oozed from her forehead, but she did not dare to slack off at all, and the wand in her hand steadily guided the direction of the magic power.

As time passed, the liquid in the crucible gradually became clear and transparent. Finally, a bright red gem lay quietly at the bottom of the crucible, emitting a soft yet powerful light.

"Success!" Salina shouted excitedly. She carefully picked up the magic stone with silver pliers. The heat emitted by the gem made her feel dizzy, as if it contained infinite power.

Nick Flamel walked forward and carefully observed the Philosopher's Stone, with a gratified smile on his face. "Congratulations, Salina, you have mastered the secret of the Philosopher's Stone. Your talent and hard work are amazing."

Salina looked up in surprise, "But it only took me less than a month..."

"Time is not the only criterion for measuring a person's achievements," Nick Flamel interrupted Salina, "Your love and persistence for alchemy far exceeds my imagination. You have surpassed many wizards who have spent their entire lives studying alchemy."

Nick Lemay paused, then continued, "Salina, you have already completed your apprenticeship. I will give you this magic stone. I hope it can help you go further on the path of magic."

Salina took the Philosopher's Stone with both hands, her heart filled with gratitude and awe. "Thank you, Mr. Flamel. I will definitely cherish your teachings and continue to study hard."

Nick Flamel walked to the bookshelf, pulled out a parchment manuscript that looked very old, and handed it to Salina. "This book records my research experience on The Jade Record over the years. I hope it will be helpful to you."

"The Emerald Jade Record?" Salina took the manuscript in confusion.

"Yes, The Emerald Record is considered the foundation of modern alchemy. It was written by the ancient alchemist Hermes Trismegistus and is said to contain the secrets of the universe."

Nick Flamel explained, "If you want to have a deeper understanding of alchemy and ancient magic runes, I suggest you look for the answers in the ancient ruins of Egypt, where the Emerald Record was born. Perhaps you can find the answers you want there."

Salina opened the manuscript. The ancient text and mysterious symbols made her feel dizzy. She realized that she was about to embark on a journey full of unknowns and challenges.

"Egypt..." Salina murmured to herself, the legends of the pyramids, the Sphinx and the ancient pharaohs emerged in her mind, and an inexplicable excitement and uneasiness surged in her heart.

……

Before leaving, Nick Lemay said he had one last thing he wanted to give to Salina.

Nico Flamel led Salina to a statue of a man in a robe holding a staff. The name "Faust" was engraved on the base of the statue.

"Don't think he's just a statue. He's very impatient. If you move a little slower, he will..." Nick Flamel deliberately dragged out his tone and made a face.

Before he could finish, Salina felt dizzy, and when she came to her senses, she found herself in a huge cave.

The ceiling of the cave is inlaid with countless sparkling gems, illuminating the entire space like daylight.

"Wow..." Salina couldn't help but exclaimed.

"How about it, isn't it beautiful?" Nick Flamel said proudly, "I was also shocked when I first came here!"

In the center of the cave, a huge ancient crystal tree rises from the ground, and its crystal clear branches extend all the way to the top of the cave, like stars that are within reach.

A soft light emanated from the tree trunk, illuminating everything around it.

"This tree..." Salina was deeply shocked by the scene before her. She could feel a powerful magical power flowing through the trunk.

"Its seeds were said to have been brought to Beauxbatons hundreds of years ago," Nico Flamel explained, "but I didn't expect it to grow so luxuriantly here."

Under the tree, a book lies quietly.

Salina took a closer look and found that the cover of the book was made of fine and smooth bark and tightly wrapped with brass.

The cover was engraved with strange words. The distorted symbols seemed to be waving at her, but also seemed to be warning her not to get close.

"Is this...ancient magic rune?" Salina asked curiously.

Nick Flamel nodded and said, "Yes, this is ancient magic writing, a language that only the most knowledgeable wizards can understand."

He gently picked up the book and opened the first page. An ancient and mysterious atmosphere filled his face, as if opening the door to another world.

The contents of the book were obscure and difficult to understand, and Salina could only barely make out some symbols about alchemy and magic.

Nick Flamel handed the book to Salina and said, "This book records a lot of lost magical knowledge. It may be helpful to your research."

Salina took the book with both hands and nodded solemnly.

She could feel the weight of the book, not just its physical weight, but also the weight of knowledge and history.

"Salina," Nick Flamel suddenly said seriously, "you must remember that knowledge is power, but power can also bring destruction. I hope you can make good use of this book and not go astray."

Salina looked up at Nick Lemay, his eyes full of expectation and worry.

She knew that she was about to embark on a road full of unknowns and challenges, but she was ready.

"I will, Mr. Flamel," Salina said firmly.
