Hogwarts Lion Girl
Chapter 159 Moody
Mrs. Weasley sighed and smoothed the wrinkles between Bill's brows with her hand. "Your father just said that Moody encountered a little trouble and needed his help to deal with it. Don't worry, your father will take care of it."
"But Uncle Moody... he seems to have a bad temper." Charlie couldn't help but interrupt, "I heard that he used to be an Auror, and he was very powerful and caught many dark wizards."
"That's right," Mrs. Weasley nodded, with a hint of admiration in her tone, "Alastor Moody, he is a legendary figure. He is one of the most powerful Aurors, and half of the prisoners in Azkaban were sent there by him."
"Wow!" the twins exclaimed in unison, their faces full of admiration and curiosity.
"However," Mrs. Weasley changed her tone, "because he captured so many dark wizards, he also made a lot of enemies. I think this trouble is probably related to those people."
Ron suddenly interrupted, "I remember Mr. Sirius also said that Professor Moody was very suspicious and always felt that someone was trying to harm him."
"Scrimgeour said the same thing," Ginny added quietly.
"Maybe all Aurors are like this," Ron said with an experienced look, "Dad said that Aurors have to be vigilant at all times and can't trust anyone easily. This is their professional quality."
At the breakfast table, the children were talking about Moody, but Percy remained silent. He absentmindedly fiddled with the oatmeal on his plate, occasionally stealing glances at the Daily Prophet on the corner of the table.
Suddenly, his eyes stopped on a report with the headline reading: "Mysterious disappearance of Ministry of Magic employees, suspected dark magic incident."
Percy's heart tightened and he quickly put down the spoon, picked up the newspaper and read it carefully.
Reports indicate that Madam Bertha Jorkins, an employee of the Ministry of Magical Transport Department, was reported missing three days ago and was last seen near Albania.
The Auror Office of the Ministry of Magic has intervened in the investigation and initially determined that this may be an incident of dark magic.
Percy ate a few mouthfuls of oatmeal hastily, put down the spoon with a pale face, "Mom, I have to go too. I have an important meeting to attend at the Ministry of Magic today."
The family looked at each other in confusion as they watched Percy leave in a hurry.
After dinner, a group of children were sent to pack their luggage.
Ron opened the box and inside was a neatly folded dress robe.
He picked it up and shook it expectantly, but the smile on his face froze instantly.
"What the hell is this?" Ron pinched the clothes in his hand in disbelief, frowning tightly.
It was a velvet gown of deep purple, as dark a color as a moldy eggplant.
Even more horrifying was the fact that the collar and cuffs of the gown were decorated with a circle of faded lace that looked like it was covered in strange mildew.
"Mom, are you sure this is my dress robe?" Ron's voice was full of doubt and resistance, "It looks like an old curtain from an antique shop!"
"Don't be ridiculous, Ron," Mrs. Weasley replied without looking up from where she was checking the twins' suitcases. "Here are your dress robes. Everyone will wear them for the ball."
"But this is too ugly!" Ron wailed, "This color, this lace, it's just an insult to my eyes!"
"Just make do with it, Ron," Mrs. Weasley finally looked up and explained helplessly, "You know, our family's financial situation is limited, and your dress robes are what your brothers left over, so there is not much choice."
"But at least Percy's old robes are the right color!" Ron pointed at the "disaster" robe on his body and felt terrible. "This dress makes me embarrassed to see anyone!"
"Then you can choose not to wear any," Mrs. Weasley said with her hands on her hips, a hint of anger in her tone, "Anyway, everyone wears robes before the ball, and no one will notice you if you go naked!"
"Hahaha, what a good idea, Ron!" Fred and George came over at some point, and when they heard what Mrs. Weasley said, they burst out laughing. "We can even take a few photos for you as a souvenir!"
"Go away, you two!" Ron waved his robe angrily, trying to drive away the two guys who were gloating.
……
Mrs. Weasley booked a Muggle taxi to quickly and unobtrusively transfer the family from their current location to London.
A light green Austin FX4 taxi with a black checkered pattern on the roof slowly drove into the country road where the Burrow was located and finally stopped outside the crooked fence gate of the Weasley family's house.
The car body swayed slightly along the bumpy road, as if it would fall apart in the next second.
The driver, a short, fat middle-aged man wearing a greasy leather hat, looked at the strange house in front of him through the car window with a puzzled look on his face.
The house looked ramshackle, as if it was randomly built from a pile of building blocks. The walls were covered with traces of time, and the windows were of different sizes, as if they were taken apart and pieced together from different houses.
Wisps of grey smoke rose from the chimneys and drifted in the air, adding an eerie atmosphere to the strange picture.
The driver opened the car door and stuck his head out, trying to get the attention of the people inside.
"Anyone want a taxi?" he called in his thick Cockney accent.
His voice broke the originally quiet atmosphere, and there was a sudden commotion in the house, accompanied by the excited shouts of children and Mrs. Weasley's sharp urging.
"Coming, coming, wait a moment!" Mrs. Weasley responded to the driver as she struggled to push a bulging box out of the house. The box seemed unable to bear the weight and made a teeth-grinding creaking sound, as if it would fall apart at any time.
The children poured out of the house one after another. Fred and George walked in the front. They each carried a large suitcase covered with all kinds of strange stickers. Some of them were even trembling slightly, as if there were some dangerous creatures inside.
Ginny followed closely behind, and Ron followed behind her, trying hard to lift a box that was taller than him, but the box did not move at all, as if it was grown on the ground.
"Do you need any help, young man?" the driver asked kindly, and he walked forward to help Ron move the box into the car.
"No, thank you." Ron blushed and refused the driver's help. He took a deep breath, and using all his strength, he finally lifted the box and staggered towards the taxi.
