Hogwarts Lion Girl
Chapter 167 Various Troubles
After class, Salina and Hermione walked side by side in the corridor of the castle, the sunlight shining on them through the windows.
Hermione had an excited look on her face, and she enthusiastically told Salina about her progress in fighting for the rights of house-elves.
"I have contacted several like-minded friends," she whispered, with a determined light in her eyes, "We plan to set up an organization to fight for the treatment that house-elves deserve!"
Salina smiled and nodded. She had always admired Hermione's sense of justice and her ability to take action.
"What do you want to do?" she asked curiously.
Hermione smiled mysteriously: "I can't tell you now, but you'll know soon." After that, she hurried to the library.
Salina strolled across the courtyard and saw Harry and Ron sitting under a dozing willow tree in the distance, both looking listless.
She walked up to them and asked curiously, "What's wrong? You look like eggplants hit by frost."
"Don't mention it," Ron replied weakly. "It's all Professor Trelawney. She said in class that Harry won't live long."
Harry shook his head helplessly, obviously accustomed to Professor Trelawney's predictions.
“We have to fill out those damned charts of planetary positions,” he complained. “What a waste of time!”
……
Salina walked into the first divination class of the third grade and found that the layout style of the classroom was exactly the same as last year. The dim room was filled with a strong smell of spices, and the curtains were tightly drawn. Only a few candles emitted faint light, casting swaying shadows on the wall.
Professor Trelawney sat behind the piles of cushions in her sequined robes, mumbling as usual.
"Welcome, children, to the first Divination class of the new term," Professor Trelawney said in her erratic voice, "Please feel free to sit down somewhere and pour yourself a cup of tea."
The table in the middle of the classroom was filled with various teacups, and next to it was a huge silver teapot, steaming.
Serena and Ginny sat together, next to Colin and another boy.
"Today, we will interpret the secret symbols of tea leaves to gain insight into the mysteries of fate," Professor Trelawney said, picking up her teacup with an exaggerated gesture. "Observe the shape, position and color of the tea leaves carefully. They will reveal the hidden truth to us."
Following Professor Trelawney's instructions, Salina took a sip of tea, then looked down at the remaining tea leaves at the bottom of the cup.
To be honest, she didn't see anything. If it wasn't paired with special tea leaves and special tea water, tea divination would be meaningless.
Professor Trelawney paced slowly in the classroom, stopping from time to time to carefully examine the students' tea cups with her magnified eyes, and exclaimed softly from time to time.
Wednesday's Ancient Runes class was much more interesting to Salina.
Different from the mysterious divination class, the ancient magic rune class is full of mysterious attraction.
The class was taught by Bagshot, a short, plump witch with wild hair.
Although Professor Bagshot looks a bit old-fashioned and serious, her love for ancient magic runes infects every student.
"Runes are an ancient and powerful magical language," Professor Bagshot said, tapping the blackboard with his quill, making a "tap-tap" sound. "Runes were once widely used in various magical rituals and spells, even including some dark magic."
Salina listened attentively, staring at the runic alphabet on the blackboard without blinking.
"Today we will learn some simple runes," Professor Bagshot continued. "Don't underestimate these simple symbols. They are the gateway to more profound ancient magical knowledge."
Salina opened the brand new parchment, picked up the quill, and began to practice writing runes seriously.
……
The Gryffindor common room after dinner was filled with warm lights and cheerful conversations, but for Harry and Ron, the prediction assignment assigned by Professor Trelawney for the Divination class was like a dark cloud hanging over their hearts.
"I bet Professor Snape is in a terrible mood," said Ron, as he dissected a giant grapefruit, trying to find some omen from it. "Did you see Neville's face? It's uglier than a troll's slug!"
Harry nodded in agreement.
Neville accidentally knocked over a cauldron of scabies potion in Potions class, and was punished by Professor Snape to stay after school and clean a bucket of smelly toad entrails.
"He must be thinking of Professor Moody," Harry muttered, trying not to look at Ron's sarcastic imitation of Professor Snape.
"Yes, that must be the case," Ron said in a low voice, mysteriously. "I dare say that Snape is afraid of Professor Moody, just like a mouse is afraid of a cat! Have you noticed? Every time Professor Moody stares at Professor Snape, he deliberately avoids eye contact."
"Maybe Professor Moody can really turn Professor Snape into a toad," said Ron, shuddering. "A fat, slimy, smelly toad!"
"Let's think about how to complete the prophecy homework," Harry quickly changed the subject, "I don't want to be left alone with Professor Trelawney again."
"Me too," said Ron with a bitter face. "I'd rather go for a walk in the Forbidden Forest than listen to her mumbling about 'I've seen your future, kid, and it's shrouded in mist' and other nonsense."
However, no matter how hard they tried, tea leaves, crystal balls, and even the astrology guide Ron borrowed from Hermione, failed to give them any inspiration.
"This is complete nonsense!" Ron finally couldn't stand it anymore and closed the astrology guide with a loud bang. "We don't have any premonitions at all, let alone predictions!"
"Maybe we could make something up?" Harry asked tentatively. He knew it sounded crazy, but it was better than handing in a blank paper.
"Make it up?" Ron's eyes widened. "Are you serious? What if Professor Trelawney finds out?"
"We just have to be careful not to make up something too outrageous," said Harry. "For example, we could say we foresaw that it would rain candy at Hogwarts, or that Hagrid would get a new pet dragon or something like that."
Ron:…
Ron thought about it for a moment and felt that although the idea was risky, it was not completely unfeasible.
Just then, Fred and George walked into the common room arm in arm, with mysterious smiles on their faces.
