Hogwarts Lion Girl

Chapter 179 Fire Dragon

In the dark night, Hagrid asked them to hide behind a dense bush first, and he turned and walked towards the castle.

After a while, Hagrid came over with an unusually tall woman. In the faint moonlight, Harry recognized her as the headmaster of Beauxbatons, Madame Maxime.

Hagrid winked in Harry and the others' direction, then walked to the front with Madame Maxime.

Salina and Harry followed quietly behind, and soon they came to an open space surrounded by a tall fence.

As soon as he approached, deafening roars and the panicked shouts of men came over him, and Harry felt as if his heart was about to jump out of his throat.

After pushing aside the leaves in front of them, they gasped at the scene before them.

Four huge fire dragons were tied with iron chains in the center of the venue, their eyes burning with angry flames and their thick tails sweeping across the ground, raising clouds of dust.

The wizards were holding wands, walking around the fire dragon, muttering something, trying to subdue these violent creatures with stunning spells.

"Fall to the ground!" The wizard closest to Salina shouted, and a red light hit the head of the black fire dragon in front of it. Its huge body shook and finally fell to the ground with a bang.

The dragon trainers rushed over and locked it tightly to an iron pillar with thick iron chains.

Harry stared at the thrilling scene in front of him in amazement. It took him a long time to come back to his senses. He swallowed and asked in a trembling voice: "Could it be... Could it be that the first event of the Triwizard Tournament is to duel with these terrible guys?"

Salina shook her head and said in a serious tone: "That's not the case, but... you will definitely have to deal with these dragons."

Harry was silent. His face was pale and his brows were furrowed. He was obviously extremely worried about the upcoming challenge.

Salina patted his shoulder gently and gave him an encouraging look. Although she knew that Harry was safe, no one dared to be careless when facing these scary creatures.

Sharina pointed to the fire dragon closest to them and said to Harry, "That's a Swedish short-nosed dragon. It's small among fire dragons, weighing only two to three tons, but it's very aggressive. The flames it spews out are blue-white and extremely hot."

Harry looked in the direction of Salina's finger and saw that the fire dragon was covered with silver-blue scales, reflecting dazzling light in the moonlight.

It has a pair of huge wings with a wingspan of at least four or five meters long, and a slender and flexible tail with a sharp bone spur at the end.

Sharina then pointed to the largest fire dragon in the center of the venue and said, "That's the Hungarian Horntail. It's the most dangerous of all fire dragons. It's huge, very aggressive, and can spray venom. If a person bitten by it doesn't take the antidote in time, he will die in severe pain."

Harry gasped when he saw the dragon.

Its scales were black, gleaming with a metallic luster in the firelight.

It has a big head covered with spikes, and its eyes emit a fierce light like burning coals.

"Where's the green one?" Harry asked, pointing at a relatively quiet dragon not far away.

"That's a common Welsh Green Dragon. It's smaller than the Hungarian Horntail, but its anger is equally terrifying. Its roar is very loud and can be heard from far away. It is said that its fire can melt steel." Salina explained.

Finally, Salina pointed to a fire dragon with sparks all over its body on the other side of the field: "That is the Chinese Fireball, also known as the Lion Dragon. It is medium in size, but its flames are extremely powerful, and it likes to attack sparkling things."

Harry looked at the dragon with awe and fear.

He knew that he was about to face an extremely difficult challenge.

Hagrid's gruff voice came from not far away, "So, Charlie, what are the rules of the game? What exactly are these little warriors going to do?"

Charlie turned to look at Hagrid and grinned, showing his white teeth.

"The rules are simple, Hagrid. Warriors need to draw lots and then get a golden egg from under the noses of their respective dragons. As long as you get the golden egg, you have passed the first level."

Hagrid seemed a little unbelievable, "But this is too dangerous! What if we get hurt by the dragon?"

"That's why I say this is a warrior's game, isn't it?" Charlie patted Hagrid on the shoulder, "Don't worry, we've made all the preparations, nothing will happen. But..." Charlie paused, looked at the largest black dragon, and said in a low voice, "It will be difficult for the warrior who encounters the Hungarian Horntail to deal with it."

On the way back to the castle, the night breeze blew the loose hair on Salina's forehead.

The night at Hogwarts was quiet and mysterious, and Salina suddenly caught a glimpse of a strange sound.

It was a light sound of footsteps, deliberately kept low, as if trying to hide one's whereabouts.

She calmly slowed down her pace and looked around sharply.

"What's wrong?" Harry noticed that Salina was acting strangely and asked in a low voice.

Salina made a silencing gesture, signaling Harry to keep quiet.

She listened carefully, following the subtle sound, and her eyes finally locked onto a thick oak tree.

With the faint moonlight, Salina saw the man clearly - it was Karkaroff.

He acted suspiciously, hiding furtively behind a tree, and from time to time he looked in the direction of the dragon, as if to confirm whether there was anyone around.

Salina calmly withdrew her gaze and said to Harry in a low voice, "It's nothing. Let's go back quickly."

……

The warm fire crackled in the common room, and Harry slumped in his easy chair, his mind replaying those terrifying behemoths - dragons.

"I'm dead, we're dead..." Harry muttered to himself, his tone full of despair, "Those are dragons! How can I steal the golden eggs from under their noses?"

Salina sighed softly, walked over to sit next to Harry, and handed him a cup of steaming pumpkin juice.

"Don't worry, Harry," she soothed him, "dragons are not as scary as you think."

"No, Salina, you don't understand!" Harry waved his arms excitedly, almost spilling his pumpkin juice. "Their fire can melt steel! And they are so huge, how can we stand a chance?"

Salina smiled slightly and said softly, "Harry, you have to remember that every creature has weaknesses, and fire dragons are no exception. Their weaknesses are their eyes. As long as you can hit their eyes, you can temporarily disrupt their actions."
