Hogwarts Lion Girl

Chapter 182 Clues to the Golden Egg

Harry landed on the stands and was immediately surrounded by Hermione and Harry.

"Are you all right, Harry?" Hermione asked anxiously.

"I'm fine." Harry shook his head, looked down at the golden egg in his arms, and laughed with relief, "I got it."

"That's great, Harry!" Harry patted Harry's shoulder excitedly, "I knew you could do it!"

Cheers and applause from the audience thundered out. Harry looked up and saw Cedric, Fleur and Krum, all of whom gave him approving looks.

"Congratulations, warriors! You have all completed the second event brilliantly!" Mr. Bagman's voice resounded across the field. "Now, warriors, please return to your tents and take a short rest. We will announce the content and ranking of the second event as soon as possible."

Harry, Hermione and the other two returned to the Warriors' Tent, but before they could sit down, the tent's flap was yanked open and Rita Skeeter appeared in the doorway, holding a quill and a professional smile on her face.

"Hello, Harry, I'm Rita Skeeter, a reporter for the Daily Prophet," she said, in a sweet voice, "Can you tell me about your experience facing the dragon? What spell did you use to fight that terrible Hungarian Horntail?"

"No comment, please leave." Harry said impatiently. He did not forget how the reporter had distorted the facts and discredited him before.

“Come on, Harry,” Rita Skeeter pressed on, making no move to leave. “I just want some details to make my story more accurate and vivid.”

"Real?" Harry sneered, "I advise you not to report my story, otherwise you will be the protagonist of the next article."

"Are you threatening me, Mr. Potter?" Rita Skeeter narrowed her eyes and her tone became dangerous.

"Whatever you want to think," Harry met her gaze fearlessly, "I was just warning you."

After saying that, Harry no longer paid any attention to Rita Skeeter and turned to leave the tent.

……

The common room in Gryffindor Tower was filled with a warm atmosphere, with cheers, laughter and congratulations mixed together, making it very lively.

The flames in the fireplace illuminated everyone's faces, and everyone was excited about Harry's success in defeating the Hungarian Horntail.

"Open it quickly, Harry! Let's see what secrets are hidden in the golden egg!" Ron urged impatiently, his eyes full of curiosity.

Hermione, Neville, Ginny, and other Gryffindor classmates also gathered around, looking at the golden egg in Harry's hand with anticipation.

Harry nodded, took a deep breath, and opened the golden egg.

However, what greeted them was not the expected surprise, but a shrill scream, like countless souls wailing in pain, or like some terrible creature issuing a warning.

The sudden horrifying sound startled everyone, and the common room instantly became quiet, with only the creepy noise coming from the golden egg.

"Merlin's beard! What on earth is that sound?" Ron turned pale and couldn't help shivering.

"It sounds like... like the cry of a female ghost." Neville's voice trembled, and he clutched his robe tightly, as if trying to seek a sense of security.

Hermione frowned and said thoughtfully: "Maybe it's the cry of some magical creature? Or... some powerful dark magic?"

"What kind of clue is this?" Ginny's face didn't look good either.

Harry listened to the discussions around him and his expression became serious.

He held the golden egg tightly, trying hard to discern some clues from it, but the horrible sound gave him a splitting headache.

He knows that the golden egg contains key information for the second project, but he must solve the mystery on his own.

So Harry put away the golden egg and said to everyone: "Thank you for your concern, but I need some time to think alone before I can find a way to crack it."

After saying that, Harry took the golden egg and left the common room, leaving the others looking at each other, full of confusion and worry.

At this moment, Fred and George pushed the door open and walked in, carrying several plates of steaming food in their hands. The aroma filled the air, instantly dispelling the dullness in the air.

"I brought you some food," Fred said with a grin, placing a plate of roast chicken on the table, "This is a masterpiece from the kitchen, would you like to try it?"

Hermione picked up a piece of chicken and asked curiously, "How did you get in? I remember the painting at the entrance of the kitchen was hidden, and I couldn't get in after searching for a long time."

Fred and George exchanged a mysterious look, and Fred lowered his voice and said, "It's a secret, Hermione. We can't tell you."

George joked, "I guess Hermione wants to mobilize the house-elves to rebel and stop them from serving Hogwarts."

"Don't talk nonsense, George!" Fred glared at George in pretended anger, then turned to Hermione and said in a serious tone, "Hermione, I know you care about the house-elves, but you'd better not interfere in the affairs of the kitchen."

Then, Fred excitedly took out an exquisite little box from his pocket.

"Let's not talk about that. I have something good. Come and see this!"

Ron took the box curiously and opened it. Inside, there were several golden biscuits neatly arranged in various shapes and emitting an enticing aroma.

"What is this?" Hermione picked up a piece and looked at it carefully. The cookie smelled sweet and delicious, and was decorated with beautiful icing patterns.

"This is our new product - Transformation Cookies!" George explained, "After eating it, you can become anything you want, but it only lasts for a short time."

"Really? This is amazing!" Ron's eyes widened in surprise. He turned to look at Ginny, "Do you want to try it, Ginny?"

Ginny wasn't very interested in these strange things of her brothers. She shook her head and said, "No, you try it yourself."

At this time, Neville came over, staring at the cookies in the box curiously, and asked timidly, "Can I try one?"

"Of course, Neville." Ron grabbed a piece and handed it to Neville.

Neville took the cookie, hesitated for a moment, and then took a bite.

Something magical happened!

Neville's body began to change. He first shrank, then grew golden feathers, and finally, he turned into a furry canary!

"Wow!" The three people nearby were stunned. They stared at what was happening before their eyes in amazement.
