Hogwarts Lion Girl

Chapter 187 Dance Partner

"That's outrageous!" Ron said indignantly, "How can she make up lies and defame others just to get attention?"

"She doesn't care what the truth is," said Harry angrily. "She only cares about whether her report will cause a sensation."

Salina listened to their conversation quietly, and felt very disgusted with Rita Skeeter's behavior.

"Don't worry, Harry," Serena said soothingly. "I'm sure everyone will trust you and won't be fooled by Rita Skeeter's lies."

Harry looked at Salina with gratitude. He knew that Salina had always believed in him and supported him.

"By the way," Hagrid suddenly remembered something, "how are you getting ready for the Yule Ball?"

Hagrid smiled and said, "This is a rare opportunity to dance with the one you love. Don't miss it."

"Harry, Ron, do you have any girls you like?" Hagrid asked with interest.

Harry and Ron looked at each other, blushed, and shook their heads.

"Selina, what about you?" Hagrid turned his gaze to Salina.

A blush appeared on Serena's face, "Cedric already invited me."

"Oh," Hagrid nodded meaningfully, "it seems our Cedric has good taste."

Salina smiled shyly, but her heart was filled with sweetness.

Harry froze and nearly dropped the cup in his hand.

He opened his mouth as if he wanted to say something, but in the end nothing came out.

An inexplicable sense of loss surged in Harry's heart, and he felt empty, as if he had lost something important.

……

When Harry returned to his dorm, he was not in the mood for his usual animated discussion with Ron.

Salina accepted Cedric's invitation, which made him feel like a huge stone was blocking his heart and he couldn't be happy at all.

"What are you thinking about, Harry?" asked Ron as he gathered up his Transfiguration books. "You've been absent-minded since we got back from Hagrid's hut."

Harry forced a smile, "Nothing, I was just thinking about something."

Ron didn't ask any further questions. He knew that if Harry didn't want to talk, he wouldn't be able to get any information out of him.

He walked to the window and looked out at the Quidditch pitch in the distance, "Speaking of which, the Yule Ball is coming up, who are you going to invite?"

Harry said absently, "I hadn't thought about that."

"What? You haven't found a partner yet?" Ron said in surprise. "That's not like you, Harry Potter!!"

Harry smiled wryly and shook his head, "I'm not in the mood to dance."

At this time, they noticed Neville was practicing dance steps awkwardly in the corner of the dormitory.

Neville's face turned red, and he seemed embarrassed to be seen.

Ron walked over curiously and asked, "Neville, what are you doing?"

Neville was startled and explained hurriedly: "I, I'm practicing dancing."

"Dancing?" Ron asked in surprise. "Who are you dancing with?"

Neville hesitated, blushing and said, "Ginny."

"Ginny?!" Ron exclaimed in surprise, "When did you and Ginny get together? How come I didn't know?"

Neville felt even more embarrassed. He ran out of the dormitory with a red face, leaving Ron standing there in a daze.

……

As a warrior of Beauxbatons, Fleur's beauty attracted many boys to ask her to be their dance partner, but she has not made a decision yet.

On a quiet afternoon, Fleur was strolling through the castle grounds.

The warm sunlight shone on her body, as if giving her a layer of golden glow.

Suddenly, a melodious violin sound came from the balcony not far away, attracting Furong's attention.

She looked in the direction of the sound and saw a tall boy standing on the balcony, plucking the strings of a guitar.

The boy has thick black hair and a pair of deep eyes staring intently at the violin in his hand, and his slender fingers dance flexibly on the strings.

The music he played was sometimes soothing and melodious, sometimes passionate and unrestrained, as if telling a touching story.

Furong was deeply attracted by the beautiful piano music. She couldn't help but walk to the bottom of the balcony and listen quietly.

When the song ended, the boy slowly put down his violin, raised his head, and met Furong's gaze.

He was slightly startled, then smiled brightly. "Hello, Fleur, I'm Michael Corner." He jumped down from the balcony, walked in front of Fleur, and saluted like a gentleman.

"Hello, Michael." Fleur also responded politely, "Your piano playing is beautiful. I have never heard such a moving piece of music."

Michael's cheeks flushed slightly and he scratched his head a little embarrassedly, "Thank you for the compliment. I have actually been practicing this piece and hope to play it for you at the Christmas ball."

Furong's heart moved. She could feel the sincerity in Michael's eyes, so she smiled and asked, "So, do you want to invite me to be your dance partner?"

"Yes!" Michael's eyes lit up and he answered excitedly, "I really hope to invite you to be my partner and dance with you."

Furong thought about it for a moment, then nodded, "Okay, I promise you."

Michael was ecstatic. He took Fleur's hand enthusiastically and kissed the back of her hand gently. "Thank you, Fleur. It's my pleasure!"

Furong looked at Michael's excitement and couldn't help but smile.

However, she did not notice that a barely perceptible indifference flashed across Michael's lowered eyes.

In fact, Michael was originally planning to invite Serena.

He practiced the violin hard, hoping to invite Salina to be his dance partner at the Christmas dance.

However, his plan was overtaken by Cedric Diggory.

The reason why Michael invited Fleur was because he knew that as one of the warriors, Fleur needed to lead the opening dance.

There is a part in the dance that requires exchanging partners.

As long as he became Furong's dance partner, he could dance with Serena during the partner exchange session, even if only for a short while.

Thinking of this, Michael smiled even more gently.

……

As the date of the Christmas ball drew closer, the castle became more and more filled with a festive atmosphere, but Ron and Harry were not happy.

From time to time, they looked at the notice board in the auditorium, which posted the countdown to the dance. The numbers were getting smaller day by day, and their hearts were getting tighter and tighter.

Every time they saw other boys excitedly talking about dance partners, Ron and Harry would fall silent at the same time. An invisible pressure made them unconsciously speed up the pace of finding dance partners.

At the corner of a staircase, Harry saw Qiu Zhang. His smooth black hair made him dazzled for a moment.
