Hogwarts Lion Girl
Chapter 205: Telling the story
Salina raised her head in confusion and met Cedric's familiar eyes.
Cedric had woken up and was looking at her with a smile, his eyes full of tenderness and doting.
Salina's heart finally settled down, and she whispered happily: "That's great, you're okay!"
Cedric looked at Serena's worried expression, and a warm feeling surged in his heart. He gently held Serena's hand and said softly, "I said I would come back to see you with the championship trophy. How could I break my promise to you?"
When the students around saw this scene, they all showed an expression of "I'm touched" and had auntie smiles on their faces, and some even cheered quietly.
Only Harry stared at Cedric blankly, his mind full of question marks. He couldn't help but blurt out: "Why didn't you die?"
As soon as Harry said this, the surroundings suddenly became quiet. Everyone was stunned and looked at Harry as if he was a fool.
Hermione reacted the fastest. She quickly reached out and slapped Harry on the head, then scolded him in a low voice, "If you can't speak, shut up! Can you understand the situation? Harry, you idiot."
"Ouch! It hurts!" Harry covered his head and closed his mouth in grievance.
Headmaster Dumbledore seemed to notice something. He smiled kindly, coughed lightly, then raised his hands wearing jeweled rings and patted them gently.
The crisp applause was particularly loud in the silent night sky, successfully attracting everyone's attention.
He looked around, sweeping his eyes over everyone present, and finally stopped at Cedric and Harry. He said in his loud and magnetic voice, "Okay everyone, our warriors look very tired. Let them go back and have a good rest. The results of the competition and the award ceremony will begin tomorrow."
……
Principal's office.
Dumbledore motioned for Harry to sit down first, then waved his wand, and several chairs appeared out of thin air behind Harry and the others.
After everyone calmed down, Dumbledore slowly spoke and motioned Harry to continue telling the rest of the story.
Harry calmed himself, took a deep breath, and told the story of what happened in the last task of the Triwizard Tournament.
"After Cedric and I got the trophy, we discovered that it had been replaced with a portkey." Harry's voice was a little hoarse, "We were teleported to a cemetery."
Having said that, Harry couldn't help but look up at Cedric, his eyes full of fear and guilt.
Cedric patted Harry's shoulder gently, motioning him to continue.
"We saw Moody there, and then he turned into Barty Crouch Jr., probably because he took the Polyjuice Potion." Harry paused, as if trying to recall the scene at that time. "In his arms, he was holding a weird baby-like thing, skinny and hideous."
"It was after that that I was hit by the Killing Curse by Barty the Younger and fell into a coma. I have no idea what happened after that." Cedric took over the conversation in a calm tone, as if he was talking about something that had nothing to do with him.
When Hermione heard this, she couldn't help but exclaimed: "You said you were hit by the Killing Curse?!"
"Oh my God, how did you survive?!" Ron couldn't help but ask.
Dumbledore interrupted them: "We will discuss this question later, Harry, please continue, what happened next?"
Harry nodded and continued, "That baby-like monster is Voldemort. Little Barty brewed a strange potion. The ingredients are the bones of Voldemort's father, the flesh and blood of his servants, and my blood. He resurrected Voldemort."
Upon hearing this, almost everyone in the office couldn't help but exclaim in surprise. Even the usually calm Professor McGonagall covered her mouth with shock written all over her face.
"Then I angered Voldemort and he said he wanted to duel with me, but during the fight our wands suddenly connected, and then I saw many souls of the dead, including my father and mother." Harry's voice was a little choked, "With the help of those souls, I had the opportunity to get the key and return."
Cedric nodded in realization: "So this is what happened later."
Harry couldn't wait to know whether those who appeared before him were his real parents. His voice trembled slightly with excitement: "Professor, my parents, are they...are they resurrected?"
Dumbledore shook his head slowly, his gray beard swaying slightly as he moved: "No, Harry, that should be the effect of the flashback spell."
Harry was stunned for a moment. He had never heard of this spell before: "Flashback spell?"
Dumbledore crossed his hands on the table, leaned forward slightly, and said in an explanatory tone: "Because the cores of your and Voldemort's wands come from the same phoenix, when your wands are facing each other, it will trigger a very rare phenomenon called the Flashback Curse. One wand will force the other wand to repeat the spell it has cast, presenting it in a flashback. Your parents, and those people, they all died under Voldemort's wand."
Harry nodded in understanding and asked, "So, those are just shadows?"
"Yes, Harry," Dumbledore said softly, patting Harry's head soothingly.
Hermione frowned and bit her lower lip anxiously. She looked at Dumbledore, her worry in her tone: "So, Voldemort is really resurrected? What should we do next? What can we do?"
Dumbledore was silent for a moment, his deep eyes looking into the distance, and he slowly said: "The cemetery you were taken to should be the old house of Gaunt. Only there can you find his 'father's bones'."
Professor McGonagall walked up to Harry and patted him on the shoulder gently. Her tone was gentle but firm: "Okay, kids, the next thing is not something you should worry about. Go back and have a good rest and prepare for tomorrow's award ceremony."
Dumbledore stood up and looked around at everyone with a serious expression. "I will go to the Gaunt mansion with the members of the Order of the Phoenix to check the situation. Cedric, Salina, you two stay for a while. I have something to ask you. The rest of you, please follow Professor McGonagall back."
Harry wanted to say something anxiously, but was interrupted by Professor McGonagall: "Harry, be obedient. Now is not the time to be willful."
She nudged Harry gently, motioning him to follow her.
Seeing this, Hermione quickly stepped forward, grabbed Harry's hand, and dragged him out of the office without saying a word. Seeing this, Ron hurriedly followed.
Dumbledore turned to Salina, his eyes sharp but admiring: "Salina, I think you should know what I want to ask."
Salina took a deep breath, straightened her back, and calmly replied, "Yes, Professor."
