Hogwarts Lion Girl

Chapter 49 Analysis of the 3 Little Ones

Hermione sat in a corner of the dim library, light from the tall windows dappled onto the table covered with books.

In front of her were various scrolls and ancient magic books scattered around. Harry and Ron stood on either side of her, all three of them looking tired and nervous.

Ron twirled the curled feather of his pen and stared at the books with a frown.

Harry crossed his hands in front of his chest and lowered his head slightly. His eyes were deep under his furrowed brows.

The stripped clues were like fallen dead leaves, stirring up waves of loss and anxiety in the hearts of several people. Harry, Ron and Hermione's eyes revealed deep solemnity.

They walked across the long table and looked at each other. There was no need for words to express their tacit understanding. Three brains were thinking synchronously, and in the chaos, there seemed to be a clear clue that suddenly came to light.

Ron said, "Who is full of prejudice and disgust towards Muggle wizards?"

"Those Slytherin pure-blood enthusiasts." Harry looked at Hermione.

"The house-elf also mentioned the Chamber of Secrets and the conspiracy." Hermione's voice was firm. She turned over and pointed to the pile of messy books. "He was very scared and warned us again and again, and even went so far as to hurt Harry to prevent him from staying in Hogwarts." She paused for a moment, as if she was organizing her thoughts, and continued, "But we can't be sure who the so-called Slytherin heir is."

Harry and Ron looked at each other, their eyes full of doubt and anxiety.

"Maybe Malfoy."

"You're right, Malfoy is always so arrogant and contemptuous, but it's really not enough to just speculate on his character."

Hermione rolled up her sleeves, revealing her slender white wrists. She raised the quill in her hand and said calmly, "We need more evidence. We can't make a decision based on speculation alone. We need indisputable facts, otherwise, we might wrongly accuse an innocent person."

Ron's voice was full of urgency, his thoughts tumbling in anger, and he said anxiously: "Their whole family exudes an evil aura, we all know that. They may have the key to the Chamber of Secrets, passed down from generation to generation, from father to son!"

Ron's mind conjured up images of the arrogant Slytherin family, proudly displaying their pure-blood arrogance and superiority. He glanced at Harry and Hermione, whose eyes were equally serious.

Harry's voice was low and powerful, and he sounded particularly cautious at this moment, "Yeah, that's a possibility..." He spoke slowly, almost word by word, as if weighing the weight of each word.

Hermione's eyes were like two pools of water, mysterious and deep, revealing a calm light.

Ron nodded and said, "I think even if Malfoy is not the heir, he should know something... The problem is how can we get Malfoy to reveal the clues to us."

There was a sly gleam in Hermione's eyes. "I think I have an idea!"

She took a deep breath, raised her head and glanced around quickly. After making sure that there was no one else around except the three of them, she continued in a low voice: "It's just that this is a bit complicated and may be dangerous. More importantly, we will violate a lot of school rules! We may be expelled!"

Ron rubbed his temple impatiently, his voice full of anxiety and urgency.

"It's already this late and you're still scaring us! Tell us quickly! Let's see if it's feasible." He muttered, his eyes wandering on the dome of the library, as if he wanted to see through the invisible mist through the patterns above his head.

There was a calmness in Hermione's voice, like a strategist planning a sophisticated battle.

"First, we need to sneak into the Slytherin common room to get information."

Ron pursed his lips. "That's impossible. The Slytherin guys won't allow Gryffindor people to enter their common room."

Hermione smiled slightly, "What if we're not Gryffindor?"

Ron was stunned, "What do you mean? Hermione, you want to transfer to another hospital? It seems that this is not an option?"

Hermione narrowed her eyes. "What nonsense! I mean, we need some Polyjuice Potion."

Ron and Harry looked at each other with confusion in their eyes. They asked almost in unison: "What kind of potion is that?"

"I've seen it in the Advanced Potions textbook. This decoction can perfectly disguise your appearance as another person," Hermione explained.

"We can use this to transform ourselves into Slytherin students and enter their common room. Then we can ask Malfoy for information and no one will find out. We can do it without anyone noticing." Hermione continued.

"Will this work?" Ron asked, with a hint of worry in his voice. "No accidents will happen! It will be troublesome if I can't change back."

"Don't worry, the effect of the drug won't last long. I was afraid it would be too short and I wouldn't have time to ask for more information."

"Are you sure this method will work?" Harry was still a little hesitant.

Hermione nodded. "It's theoretically possible. The formula for the potion is in the restricted section. Professor Lockhart might be willing to sign the permit for us."

"Yeah, that guy even wanted to sign Dumbledore's desk." Ron muttered softly.

"It's just that some of the materials needed are not easy to find. However, I believe we can find them from Professor Snape's private collection. You know, his collection may contain all kinds of strange magical materials."

"That doesn't sound like something Professor Snape would be happy to share," muttered Harry, who instinctively disliked anything to do with Professor Snape.

"Yes, we can't ask him directly for it," Hermione tapped her fingers on the table, "but we all know that he is the most proficient person in potions and magic in the school. He must have the treasures we need in his private collection. Maybe we can use a little strategy and steal some from his potion research."

Harry's brows were furrowed, his emerald eyes sparkling with worry.

"Hermione, isn't this a bit too risky?" Harry said in a low voice, trying his best not to sound like he completely rejected adventure. "Professor Snape is not Lockhart. He is like a cunning venomous snake. If he is discovered..." There was an undisguised worry in his tone.

Harry knew clearly that if he was discovered, not only would he be violating school rules, but he would also have to face Snape's severe punishment which would contain almost no warmth.
