Hogwarts Lion Girl

Chapter 63 Exploring the Secret Room

At breakfast time the next day, the air was filled with the sweet smell of porridge and the aroma of toast.

Large swathes of sunlight shone through the restaurant windows and fell all over the floor. Salina sat at the table, the milk in her cup still steaming.

Professor Sprout's voice rang out in a corner of the restaurant, "Mandra has a noisy party in Greenhouse 3!" Professor Sprout's voice was like a breeze, gently interrupting the silence of the early morning.

The little wizards around were attracted by the professor's words and cast curious glances at her.

"We'll know they're fully grown when they want to be moved to someone else's pot," Professor Sprout said with irrepressible excitement in his voice. "Then we can bring those petrified people in the hospital ward back to life."

This good news inspired everyone present. The atmosphere of breakfast suddenly became lively and everyone couldn't help but reveal a happy smile on their face.

……

Dumbledore returned to Hogwarts in the afternoon, and the group began to explore the Chamber of Secrets.

In the girls' bathroom on the third floor, Harry stood in front of the sink that wouldn't drain water, and then used Parseltongue to open the door to the Chamber of Secrets.

He looked at Dumbledore nervously and said softly, "Headmaster, I didn't hide it on purpose. I'm just worried... I don't seem to be a qualified Gryffindor."

Dumbledore patted Harry's head and said gently, "You are doing very well now. As for your doubts, I think I will be able to prove them later."

Harry blinked, somewhat confused.

Salina watched from the side and thought to herself, the Riddler is here again.

Led by Dumbledore, a group of people entered the pipe one after another.

In their narrow field of vision, the circular end of the tube suddenly enlarged, like a black hole from another world, completely engulfing them.

Salina used magic to slow herself down and landed slowly on the ground. She looked at the pile of animal bones under her feet and silently stood on the water pipe which was relatively clean in comparison.

There was the sound of water dripping from above my head, the air was damp and cold, and every breath seemed to be swallowing tiny droplets of water.

Everyone used "fluorescent flashing" and the bright light gradually illuminated the surrounding environment.

Ron huddled close to Harry. He didn't dare to use this wand to cast spells anymore.

As they moved forward, Salina saw the shed skin of the basilisk.

The surface of the snake skin is smooth and elastic, and the green scales seem to be alive under the fluorescent light, emitting a faint luster. When you get close, you can still feel the basilisk's breath lingering on the snake skin.

Thinking that this was a good material for potions, Salina wanted to collect some. But someone was faster than her. Snape rushed over in one step, and with his cloak fluttering, he collected all the snake skins.

Then he looked around, as if to ask: Anyone got any objections?

Salina: ...

Okay, professor, you are so cruel... I have to find a way to get some money out of him later. There are so many that he probably can’t use them all by himself.

After a long dark tunnel, a solid wall appeared in front of everyone.

Two snakes entwined with each other are carved on the wall. Their bodies are winding as if they have life, with smooth and complex curves.

The most eye-catching thing is the eyes of the two snakes.

Inlaid in the stone wall is a pair of huge emeralds, which shine brightly even in the dim light. The faint green light emitted by the emeralds complements the green color of the snake on the wall.

The outlines of the snakes on the wall became more prominent as people approached, as if they were ready to come alive at any moment.

Harry once again spoke in Parseltongue: "Open."

The two snakes entangled with each other seemed to come alive and began to move slowly.

The wall began to creak, mixed with the noise of stones rubbing against each other, like the sound of an old machine struggling to work.

After passing through the stone wall, everyone entered a long room with dim light and a strange atmosphere. The weak fluorescent light seemed unable to illuminate this space that was almost isolated from the outside world.

Rows of huge stone pillars supported the ceiling that blended into the darkness above. These stone pillars were covered with intricately carved snake patterns, and each snake was coiled and entangled with each other, forming one complex and ancient symbol after another.

In the semi-darkness, the shadows of these entangled giant snakes seemed to be swimming slowly.

The entire room was shrouded in an unfathomable green and mysterious atmosphere, as if every ray of light was dissolved here and then reappeared in strange colors and ominous shadows.

In this elusive green light, everything seems unreal, as if being in a different dimension between dreams and reality. Only the snakes carved on the stone pillars guard the room with their eternal posture, witnessing all this quiet and mysteriousness.

At the end of the Chamber of Secrets is a statue of Slytherin Salazar.

The stone face of the statue is majestic and solemn, as if it is a wise man who has been sleeping for a thousand years, watching all the undercurrents with cold eyes. The thick beard gives people an endless sense of oppression, almost bending the black wall behind it.

With a rustling sound, the huge figure of the basilisk emerged from the darkness.

Harry yelled nervously, "Don't look into its eyes!"

At this moment, Salina cast the recording spell.

For a moment, the entire secret room was filled with the clear and lively sounds of roosters crowing.

The sound was abrupt and distinct. The basilisk first looked confused, and then its huge body began to twist violently, obviously greatly affected by the sound. Its huge body was in uncontrollable spasms, and the coiled snake body was in a mess.

Several professors looked at Salina in surprise, obviously noticing this spell that they had never heard of before.

At the same time, the phoenix Fawkes, who had been reborn from the ashes, cried out, flapped its wings and flew up. Its flaming feathers sparkled in the dim light, as if every feather contained the blazing fire of life.

After circling in the air for several circles, Fox suddenly swooped down and pecked out the basilisk's eyes.

Without the threat of petrification, several professors took action and soon beat the basilisk all over its body.

Dumbledore then handed the Sorting Hat to Harry. "Have you always been worried about whether you are a Gryffindor? Now you can get the answer."

Although Harry still didn't quite understand, he quickly took the Sorting Hat.

Dumbledore took a few steps forward, took out the diary from his arms, and then chose a time to throw it out.

The basilisk lost its most deadly visual hunting ability in the battle. Its eyes, which were once able to detect any slight movement, were now covered with blood and wounds, losing their original luster and becoming like two dried black stones.

In this blindness and pain, it has fallen into madness and anger, and can't wait to tear the enemy apart. When the diary thrown by Dumbledore cut through the air with a slight sound, the basilisk immediately opened its huge and terrifying mouth in that direction. The sharp fangs were like two swords of death in the dim light, foreshadowing the upcoming fatal blow.
