Hogwarts Lion Girl

Chapter 70 Michael's Invitation

The sunlight shone through the windows of the tower, casting spots of light on the stairs. Colin followed Salina towards the Gryffindor common room.

There were crowds of people on the road, but Colin's attention was always on Salina beside him.

He secretly observed the girl's profile. The golden outline bathed in the afterglow of the setting sun made ripples in his heart.

The girl seemed to feel his gaze and turned to give him a gentle smile. This smile made Colin's cheeks blush and his heartbeat began to accelerate involuntarily.

He hurriedly looked away, pretending to admire the portrait on the wall next to him, but in his heart he was excited by this brief interaction. All the way he was savoring Salina's smile and the faint fragrance emanating from her body.

In order to hide his inner nervousness, Colin deliberately quickened his pace and pretended to say goodbye to Salina casually, "I'm going back first. See you later, Salina."

After Colin walked away, a figure appeared from the corner.

It's Michael Corner.

The afterglow of the setting sun shone on his face, casting a warm glow on his hair.

Michael walked quickly to Salina, his breathing was a little rapid, as if he was trying to calm the tension in his heart.

He took a deep breath and gave Sharina a slightly shy smile, "Hey, Sharina."

Salina tilted her head and looked at him with some confusion, "Michael, what do you want to talk to me about?"

Michael hesitated for a moment, his eyes wandering, but he finally mustered up the courage to ask, "Can you come to the observatory tonight? I... have prepared some little surprises for you."

Salina frowned slightly, with a hint of confusion in her tone, "Why do you do this?"

Michael took a deep breath, looked directly into Sharina's eyes, and said firmly, "I thought I had made it very clear... I'm pursuing you."

Salina was stunned for a moment. She obviously did not expect Michael to express his feelings so bluntly. For a moment she did not know how to respond.

She was silent for a moment, avoiding Michael's gaze and looking elsewhere.

Michael felt a little uneasy when he saw that Salina didn't say anything.

He was worried that his abruptness might scare Salina, so he slowed down his tone and added, "I'll wait for you there at eight o'clock in the evening."

……

At 8 o'clock in the evening, the night fell at Hogwarts. The castle was shining warmly under the stars. The ancient staircase looked even more mysterious in the night. Each step seemed to tell the history. The spiral staircase leading to the observatory was shrouded in the night. The stars sprinkled through the windows of the tower, making the ancient stone steps particularly mysterious.

The ancient observatory was bathed in a quiet night. The starry night sky was like diamonds scattered on a black curtain, shrouding everything around the observatory with a mysterious color. Michael stood on the edge of the observatory, anxiously looking at the spiral staircase leading here, waiting for Salina to arrive.

The old clock made a dull sound, and the pointer slowly crossed the eight o'clock mark. Michael's heart sank little by little as time passed. He paced back and forth anxiously, looking up at the spiral staircase leading to the observatory from time to time, hoping to catch a glimpse of Salina's figure in the dim light, but there was no one there except the whistling night wind.

As time passed, but Selina never showed up, Michael's hope gradually turned into disappointment, and the smile on his face gradually froze into bitterness. He dropped his shoulders helplessly, and his expectant eyes became dim, like a burning spark.

When he was completely disappointed, a slender figure appeared from the spiral staircase leading to the observatory. Bathed in the soft starlight, the girl took light steps and appeared at the door of the observatory.

"Am I late?"

Salina's voice broke the silence around the observatory. Her figure appeared particularly clear under the starlight, and her light gait was like that of an elf untainted by dust.

Michael looked up when he heard the voice. His originally dim eyes were instantly brightened, and a bright smile bloomed on his face again, like the twinkling stars in the night sky.

"No, just right." He said softly, unable to hide his excitement in his tone.

Salina's arrival dispelled the haze in his heart and swept away his original lost mood.

"The surprise I mentioned is right there."

Following the direction of Michael's finger, Salina slowly raised her head and moved her eyes from his face to the night sky.

The deep night spreads out like black velvet, and countless stars sparkle with diamond-like light, dazzling and brilliant.

Suddenly, a streak of light streaked across the night sky, leaving behind a silvery-white trail that disappeared in a flash.

Soon after, more and more meteors fell like raindrops, dragging long tails, decorating the night sky like a dream.

……

The end of the meteor shower was like a fading waltz. Michael took out a delicate little box from his pocket and gently opened it. Inside lay a silver pocket watch. The pocket watch was engraved with exquisite patterns, and it shone with tiny lights under the starlight. He handed the pocket watch to Salina, and his fingertips inadvertently touched her warm palm.

"What is this?" Salina took the pocket watch curiously. The silver metal shone softly under the starlight. She gently stroked the exquisite carvings on it, feeling the cool touch of the metal.

"It's a gift, but I put a little gadget on it." Michael explained with a smile, his eyes looking at Salina tenderly, "When you want to contact me, just like this..." His slender fingers gently pressed a button on the side of the pocket watch.

The pointer on the dial suddenly spun at a high speed, as if it was given life in an instant, then emitted a flash of light and flew into the sky, turning into a bright star, hanging in the night sky, flashing dazzling light.

"This star will convey messages for you. No matter when and where you are, as long as you press the button, I will receive your message and I will come as quickly as possible." Michael looked at Selina affectionately, his eyes full of tenderness and love.

Salina withdrew her gaze from the shining star and fell on the pocket watch in her hand. She gently stroked the cool metal shell, her fingertips feeling the exquisite patterns carved on it, but her heart seemed to be filled with a myriad of emotions, making her not know how to respond for a moment.

Putting the pocket watch back into Michael's hand, Serena turned slightly. "I don't think I can accept this." She whispered, with a hint of hesitation and uneasiness in her tone, as if this small pocket watch was a hot potato.

Michael seemed to see through her concerns. He smiled gently, with a hint of teasing in his tone: "I know you accepted Cedric's invitation, but... you haven't officially confirmed your relationship with him yet."

Salina shook her head. "We are not..."

"Since you haven't confirmed your relationship with him, why can't you accept my gift?" Michael pressed on step by step, but his tone remained gentle. His deep eyes locked tightly on Salina's eyes, as if he wanted to see through all her thoughts deep in her heart.

"He and I should still be at the same starting line..." There was a subtle hint of disappointment in his tone, but he quickly concealed it.

Salina was silent for a moment, then took a deep breath, slowly reached out her hand and took the pocket watch.

"Thank you." Her voice was as soft as a breeze, but it was enough to bring a bright smile to Michael's face again.
