Hogwarts Lion Girl

Chapter 80 Hagrid's Trouble

The next day, the sun shone through the towering Gothic windows of Hogwarts Castle, casting long shadows on the ancient stone walls. However, the campus, which should have been full of vitality, was shrouded in an uneasy atmosphere. Because of one thing, the whole Hogwarts fell into chaos: Draco Malfoy was injured in Hagrid's Hippogriff class.

"Have you heard? Malfoy is injured! I heard he is seriously injured!" Lavender Brown ran to the Gryffindor table in a panic and said in a low voice.

"Malfoy? What's wrong with him?" Dean Thomas asked curiously, almost spilling the pumpkin juice in his hand.

"I heard that he was injured by Buckbeak during Hagrid's Hippogriff class!" Lavender said mysteriously, "Some people said that Malfoy's arm was bitten off by Buckbeak, some said that Malfoy's face was scratched by Buckbeak's claws, and some even said that Malfoy was almost trampled to death by Buckbeak."

When Salina and Ginny arrived at Hagrid's hut, they found the door was crowded with chattering students. The air was filled with the smell of earth and grass, mixed with a hint of tension.

They had to lean sideways and push through the crowd to squeeze into the open space in front of the cabin.

Hagrid was pacing anxiously on the outskirts of the crowd, his rugged face full of worry and his thick eyebrows almost twisted into a ball.

Malfoy's father, Lucius Malfoy, stood in the center of the crowd. On his pale, thin face, a pair of gray eyes almost spit fire. He was roaring at Hagrid. His voice was as sharp as a knife cutting through glass, and every word was full of threat and anger.

"I'm going to sue you, you filthy half-giant!" Lucius Malfoy growled through gritted teeth, his voice full of anger and threats. The sharp echo echoed in the open space in front of the cottage, startling a blue bird perched on a pumpkin vine.

A wisp of grey smoke rose from the chimney of Hagrid's cottage, looking particularly bleak in the autumn afternoon sun.

In the distance, Hogwarts Castle stood tall, its spires and towers forming a majestic outline against the blue sky, but the quarrel in front of them added a touch of tension to this tranquil picture.

"I want you to get out of Hogwarts and get out of the wizarding world!"

"I didn't, he provoked Buckbeak first! I just wanted to teach students how to approach the Hippogriff..." Hagrid blushed and defended himself, but his panicked tone sounded so pale and weak. His rough hands tightly grasped his pink umbrella, and his knuckles turned white due to the force.

The students around were talking in low voices, their curious eyes flickering back and forth between Hagrid and Lucius, and their whispers lingering in their ears like the buzzing of bees.

"Shut up! You stupid beast!" Lucius Malfoy roared, his long silver hair fluttering gently in the breeze, like a venomous snake spitting out its tongue, and his cold eyes swept across Hagrid's face. "My son was almost killed by your monster, and you still dare to quibble?!"

At this moment, there was a commotion outside the crowd, and the students retreated to both sides, leaving a narrow passage. Professor Dumbledore pushed aside the Hufflepuff students who were blocking him and walked in with steady steps. The hem of his long purple wizard robe swayed gently with his steps, casting a shadow on the ground covered with fallen leaves.

He walked between Hagrid and Malfoy, his tall figure looking particularly majestic in front of the angry Lucius.

The autumn sun shone through the gaps above the heads of the crowd, gilding his silver beard with a layer of gold. Dumbledore's sharp eyes swept over everyone present, and finally fell on Lucius. His tone was calm but with unquestionable majesty: "Enough, Lucius! I will investigate this matter thoroughly. Before that, please stop making trouble!"

Lucius Malfoy glared at Hagrid, snorted coldly, and said nothing more.

"Hagrid, are you all right?" Harry asked worriedly. He saw Hagrid's big hand holding the pink umbrella trembling slightly. The mud spots on the tip of the umbrella fell gently with the trembling, making small pits on the ground covered with fallen leaves.

"I'm fine, Harry." Hagrid forced a smile and patted Harry's shoulder, but his little eyes, which usually sparkled with warmth, were now dull. "It's just poor Buckbeak, it didn't do anything wrong..."

"Don't worry, Hagrid, we'll help you," said Ron, his tone firm and powerful.

"Yes, we will find evidence to prove that Malfoy brought this upon himself!" Hermione also said, with a determined light flashing in her eyes.

At dinner time, there was a strange atmosphere of excitement around the Slytherin table.

Malfoy, the usually arrogant guy, was now leaning on his seat with a sick look on his face. His arm, bandaged across his chest, was like a medal of honor, attracting the attention of all Slytherins.

"Poor Draco, that half-giant's pet is a dangerous monster!" Pansy Parkinson said in a sympathetic tone, gently stroking Malfoy's intact hand with her fingers painted with bright red nail polish.

"That's right!" Goyle shouted hoarsely. "That big brute nearly killed Draco! Headmaster Dumbledore is really biased towards that brute!"

"Shh! Keep your voice down!" Crabbe warned in a low voice.

Malfoy enjoyed the attention from his companions. He smiled weakly and lowered his voice deliberately. He said intermittently: "That damn hippogriff, it suddenly went crazy. If I hadn't dodged quickly..." He paused deliberately, pretending to be still in shock, and then continued, "That idiot Hagrid was completely scared at the time. He could only keep apologizing there..."

"Where's Dumbledore? What did he say?" Pansy asked, with a gossipy gleam in her eyes.

"Humph, that old fool!" Malfoy curled his lips in disdain. "He actually tried to defend Hagrid, saying that I provoked Buckbeak first! How ridiculous! I'm the victim!"

As soon as Malfoy finished speaking, the Slytherin table exploded. The students angrily accused Hagrid of being rude and dangerous, demanding that the school severely punish Hagrid, and some even clamored for Buckbeak to be executed.

"That half-giant is a danger! He doesn't deserve to be in Hogwarts!"

"That's right! We have to put pressure on the school and kick that monster out!"

"And that damned Hippogriff! It should be killed!"

Pansy held Malfoy's hand tightly, her eyes full of heartache and worry, and said softly: "Draco, are you okay? Does it hurt?"

Malfoy pulled his hand back unnoticeably, frowned slightly, and said, "I'm fine, just a minor injury. But you, Pansy, don't get so close to me."

Pansy's face turned dark in an instant, and the Slytherin girls around her covered their mouths and laughed. They looked at Pansy with hostility, as if she were a clown.

Pansy glared at the girls fiercely and sat back in her seat silently.

Hermione frowned in disgust and whispered to Harry and Ron beside her: "How disgusting! That Malfoy guy is making up stories to gain sympathy again!"

"Who says it isn't!" Ron said indignantly, "He obviously brought his own death upon himself, but now he's putting all the blame on Hagrid and Buckbeak. How despicable!"

Harry clenched his fists tightly and said nothing. His eyes flashed with angry flames, staring at Malfoy as if he wanted to burn him to ashes.

"We can't just let this go!" Harry stood up abruptly, saying in a firm tone, "We must do something and not let that bastard Malfoy succeed!"
