Hogwarts Lion Girl

Chapter 90: Dementors Enter the Tournament

A few days later in the afternoon, the sky above the Quidditch field was covered with dark clouds, and the leaden clouds pressed down low on the field, as if they would fall down at any time. The stands around the field were filled with students from various colleges, wearing their respective college robes, waving flags and scarves, and their deafening cheers resounded through the sky, as if they were competing with the thunder and rain.

The match between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff is about to begin in this precarious situation.

The strong wind swept across the stadium, and the big raindrops mixed with bursts of cold air mercilessly hit people's faces and bodies.

The trees in the forbidden forest in the distance were shaking violently in the strong wind, like a group of monsters with bared fangs and claws. The rumbling thunder exploded overhead, as if foreshadowing that this game would be extremely intense.

The bad weather, with strong winds, heavy rain and rumbling thunder, not only affected the students' mood, but also added uncertainty to the upcoming competition.

"Harry, you must be careful in this game." There was a hint of worry in Salina's expression, "I have a feeling that Dementors might appear."

Harry was slightly startled, then nodded and reached out to hold the wand tightly. "I will be careful. Thank you, Salina."

Salina continued: "Don't forget the Patronus Charm, you must protect yourself."

"I will," Harry whispered back, but there was a hint of uncertainty in his tone.

Sharina noticed his uneasiness and asked, "What's wrong, Harry?"

Harry took a deep breath and said in a heavy tone: "I'm just... not sure if I can succeed. I don't have many happy memories, and I can't cast a strong Patronus Charm."

……

A sharp whistle cut through the rain, and the game began. Players from Gryffindor and Hufflepuff rode on their broomsticks against the strong wind and filed out of the player tunnel. Fourteen figures shuttled through the wind and rain, like lightning streaking through the gloomy sky.

Hermione sat in the audience, looking at Harry nervously. He was wearing a brand new Quidditch jersey today, his eyes were firm and focused, staring at the field closely, like a cheetah ready to pounce.

"Don't worry, Hermione, Harry will definitely win!" Ron shouted beside her, trying to hide the uneasiness in his tone.

Hermione turned her head and looked at him, and found that although Ron said something lighthearted, his hands were tightly grasping the armrests of the chair, and his knuckles were white. It seemed that Ron was also infected by the tense atmosphere of the game.

Salina's sight passed over the noisy crowd and through the misty rain curtain, and caught sight of Cedric. He was standing in the Hufflepuff team, his black hair fluttering slightly in the wind and rain. Noticing Salina's gaze, Cedric turned his head and gave her a bright, sunny smile, as if the storm around him didn't exist.

……

Dark clouds were pressing down as if they would collapse at any time. Raindrops as big as beans hit the roof of Hogwarts Castle mercilessly, pouring down along the eaves, forming curtains of water.

A strong wind was raging over the Quidditch field, and lead-gray clouds were pressing low over the field, shrouding the entire field in darkness.

In the surrounding stands, students from various colleges crowded under the shelters, wearing robes of their respective colleges and waving flags and scarves. The deafening cheers and thunder mixed together, almost bursting one's eardrums.

Madam Hooch's high-pitched whistle echoed throughout the stadium, spreading in the strong wind, drowning out the deafening cheers and thunder, and the game officially began.

Everyone, whether the players on the field or the spectators in the stands, held their breath and followed the Quidditch players flying in the air with their eyes.

The Hufflepuff Seeker was indeed worthy of his reputation. Cedric was like a nimble swallow, flying freely in the air and almost catching the Golden Snitch several times. Harry was not to be outdone, relying on his superb flying skills and keen observation, he kept chasing closely.

The game was extremely intense, with scores rising alternately on both sides, and neither side was willing to give in easily. Hermione's heart was also fluctuating with the rhythm of the game, and she bit her lips tightly, fearing that she would miss any wonderful moments.

At this moment, a sudden change occurred.

When Harry turned sharply to avoid a Bludger, his broom suddenly lost control and shook violently. He was horrified to find that several Dementors were approaching him silently, emitting a biting cold, and the air around him seemed to freeze instantly. He felt a familiar sense of coldness and despair, and his ears were filled with the creepy whispers of the Dementors, and the world in front of him became blurred.

"Expecto Patronus!" A silvery-white light gushed out from the tip of Serena's wand, appearing particularly dazzling above the gloomy Quidditch field.

The silver-white light gathered and took shape, and a huge silver ferret rushed towards the Dementors. Wherever it went, the cold air was dispelled and the whispers of despair were torn apart.

Harry felt like he was trapped in a nightmare. The creepy whispers of the Dementors filled his ears, the world in front of him was blurry, and his body fell uncontrollably. He tried to grab the broom, but the cold despair overwhelmed him like a tide.

"No, I can't give up! I still want to win the game! I still want to..." Many faces of people flashed through Harry's mind, Ron's anxious shouts, Hermione's worried eyes, and...Salina's clear eyes, which were reflecting his figure at this moment, as if silently encouraging him.

Just as Harry was about to fall to the ground, a silver light passed by him, and a huge silver ferret appeared below him, catching his falling body. Harry lay on the broad back of the Patronus in shock, feeling its soft fur and warm body temperature, and an indescribable sense of security surged in his heart.

He looked up and saw Salina standing on the court, enveloped in silver light, like a goddess descending. She pointed her wand to the sky, and the silver ferret rushed towards the Dementors that were trying to approach.

"Harry! Are you okay?" Ron's voice came from a distance. He rushed to Harry, his face full of worry.

"I'm fine, thanks to Serena." Harry jumped off the back of the Patronus and looked at Serena gratefully.

Salina put away her wand, and the silver Patronus gradually dissipated into the air. She looked at Harry, her eyes full of concern: "I'm glad you're okay."

Harry looked towards the stands and saw Headmaster Dumbledore and other professors staring at the court with serious expressions.

In the distance, Lupin and Black were hiding in the shadows of the woods outside the castle.

When the two saw Harry land safely, they both breathed a sigh of relief. Black's tense body also relaxed. He had even taken a step forward, wanting to rush out to protect Harry, but Lupin beside him quickly grabbed his arm.

The game was interrupted by the appearance of Dementors, and the players were taken back to the castle. Harry and Ron were walking on the road, still discussing what had just happened.
