Hogwarts's Master of Mind
Chapter 164 Inspection
Aiden came out of the Room of Requirement and saw two people waiting for him.
Aiden; "......"
"Did you make a new friend, Aiden?" Dumbledore seemed to be in a good mood.
"Isn't Aiden just at the right age to make friends?"
Professor Lupin rocked a cardigan with lots of pockets, looking very homely.
"So, the principal and the professor are here to capture the poor students who are randomly refreshed? I remember that it is not curfew yet."
Just as Aiden was about to start talking stubbornly, the curfew bell rang.
Now, the smiles on the two commanders' faces became even more intense.
"Okay, Aiden, stop joking. I said before that I wanted to take you to meet someone." Dumbledore brought the subject back on track.
"So, the person you want me to meet is Professor Lupin. I see, a werewolf." Aiden reacted.
"How do you know?" Professor Lupin looked surprised.
"I can smell it. The magic on you has the scent of the moon." Aiden replied half-seriously.
"Have you studied werewolves?" Dumbledore heard something different in Aiden's words.
"Some of the things we learned from our previous trip to Egypt." Aiden smiled, "Also, shall we just talk about this?"
"Come to my office," Dumbledore said, leading the two to the headmaster's office.
Passing through Dumbledore's favorite small spiral 'elevator', they arrived at the office.
Aiden fell onto the sofa and arched the backrest like a big cat.
He snapped his fingers and said, "Lemonade, thank you."
Aiden's relaxation made Lupin look sideways, and Dumbledore saw Lupin's embarrassment and spoke to ease it.
"Remus, anything for me?"
"Butterbeer, please." Professor Lupin also ordered a drink.
Afterwards, drinks and snacks appeared in front of the three people.
Now that everything was ready, Aiden got to work without hesitation, as if he was treating the principal's office like his home.
"Tell me about what you gained in Egypt, Aiden." Dumbledore and Lupin both looked at him.
After swallowing the lemon juice, Aiden said,
"Professor, Egypt is an ancient civilization, and they are also one of the few countries in the world that has extremely comprehensive records of werewolves."
Aiden sorted out his words and began to explain.
"This time, thanks to some idiot, I saw some ancient records in Egypt, among which there are many documents about werewolves."
"Go on." Dumbledore took a sip of the hot chocolate.
"I roughly understand that you want me to dispel the werewolf 'curse' on the professor through a combination of the Silence Ban and the Alchemical Matrix, just like the Greengrass family did. But I can only regretfully tell you that werewolves are not a curse."
"It's not a curse. Can you explain it in detail?" Professor Lupin also asked.
"Uncle Remus, can you recall whether you experienced any loss of vitality every time you transformed into a werewolf?" Aiden looked at Lupin.
"No, no?" Professor Lupin finally noticed something wrong.
"The werewolf 'curse', strictly speaking, is a failed attempt by wizards to transform magical creatures." Aiden pointed out the key point.
"But what about the contagiousness of werewolves?" asked Dumbledore.
"Professor, as one of the wizarding families with bloodlines, you and I should have records that the bloodlines of magical creatures in the early days were not passed down through reproduction." Aiden's voice was a little low.
"Yes, by fusion, or, as the Muggles would say, in vitro injection," Dumbledore agreed.
“So, in order to avoid the defect that blood must be injected from outside the body, the wizards at that time created two methods.
First, modify one's own genetic factors so that offspring can inherit this mutation. Second... "
Aiden didn't finish his words, so Lupin took over for him.
"The second one is infection."
“The virus spreads quickly and widely, but when they combine the two, things start to get out of control.” The smell of blood and fire wafted from Aiden’s voice.
Aiden extracted some of his experiences on the second level of the Deep Realm, and threw the silver memory into the meditation basin that the principal had placed next to him.
The Pensieve takes the three people back to that crazy and pure era, where they witness the birth, growth, loss of control, and killing of werewolves with their own eyes.
"Oh." Lupin, who had just escaped from his memory, sat on the sofa and panted.
"It was a terrible past." Dumbledore and Aiden acted as if nothing had happened.
The look he gave Lupin seemed to be saying, how come you can't even compare to the old people and children.
"Well, now that we know the past, it's time to think about the future," said Dumbledore.
"Well, we need an instrument to analyze it. I have one here, but I'm not sure if Professor Lupin can handle it." Aiden suggested.
"Take him there, after all, he is the one who has gone through Tom's ceremony and can call him by his name, and he has a heart of gold," Dumbledore replied.
"Ok, you have the final say." Seeing Dumbledore come out to guarantee, Aiden did not ask any more questions.
Two riddlers are talking in the office, and another man is scratching his head.
Aiden pulled out a jar of alchemical solution and began carving on the ground.
"Be gentle, don't make scratches on the floor tiles. You know how difficult it is to repair this thing." Dumbledore complained.
"Hmph." The unhappy Long intensified the carving movements of his hands.
Soon, an alchemical matrix with a strange pattern was drawn.
"Come around, both of you." Aiden waved at them.
Professor Lupin and Dumbledore came over, Aiden activated the matrix, a white light flashed, and Dumbledore and Lupin fell to the floor of the office.
The sea of collective subconsciousness - Avalon.
Dumbledore and Lupin opened their eyes again and found themselves in a place where birds were singing and flowers were fragrant.
"This is the goblins' retreat - Avalon?" Dumbledore obviously knew what he was talking about.
"Yes, it's my private land now." Aiden raised his eyebrows, and there seemed to be two crescent moons hanging on his delicate face.
"Why did you bring us here?" Professor Lupin asked puzzledly.
"Didn't the Department of Mysteries say that the control center of Avalon was lost?" Dumbledore and Lupin asked at the same time.
"I'll answer you one by one. First of all, the control center is in my hands. Secondly, the Psychic Cloud Server that I developed here with the Department of Mysteries is needed to analyze Professor Lupin."
Aiden clenched his palm and a long staff appeared in his hand.
He waved his staff, and two clouds emerged from the ground, carrying the three people towards the center.
Soon, they stopped in front of a group of stone slabs with a passage carved out of them.
"This is..." Dumbledore was dazzled by the magnificent alchemical creation before him.
Lupin was equally drawn to it.
"Welcome to visit our first phase project - the Mind Cloud Server," Aiden introduced.
"Of course, if there are servers, there are cloud computers, but the director insisted on calling it a virtual particle computer."
After the introductions, Aiden led the two to the central matrix of the computer.
"Come on, Professor, lie down on it," said Aiden.
After Lupin did so, Dumbledore raised new questions.
"Remus's body isn't here. Will such a scan be useful?"
"What do you think the alchemy matrix outside is for? If I just brought you here for a tour, I wouldn't need to make such preparations." Aiden rolled his eyes.
Then, the computer started up, and through the alchemical matrix, the data on both sides interacted, and soon the results came out.
"How is it?" asked Professor Lupin.
“It’s indeed the magic of the moon phases working its magic in my body,” Aiden concluded after looking at the report.
"Can it be expelled?" Dumbledore's face was solemn. He also knew how tricky the moon magic, which was known for its changes, was.
"Perhaps, Principal, we can change our thinking. Since the magic power in the professor cannot be completely removed, why can't we complete the transformation?" Aiden suggested.
"How sure are you?" Dumbledore asked without making any comment.
"With your and Professor McGonagall's help, plus my own research, the chances should be pretty good." Aiden gave a number.
"Okay, I'll do it." Before Dumbledore could speak, Professor Lupin agreed to Aiden.
"Remus, you..." Dumbledore wanted to say something.
"Thank you, Professor Dumbledore, but I've had enough of this kind of loss of control." Lupin's face also showed rare excitement.
"Alas." Dumbledore didn't know what to say and could only sigh.
