The knight leader handed the fate of the prisoners over to Gerlin. Green and Fresa stood in the hall of the manor, looking at a wooden door, on the other side of which were those poor creatures.

"Are you ready, Freisa?" Green asked in a low voice, frowning slightly, as if he was hesitant about what was about to happen.

"I hope you can think clearly. This is not just a choice, but the ultimate decision for their lives." Freisa's voice was soft, but firm. "We can't let pity interfere with our judgment."

“That’s right.” Fresa said softly, “But I want to remind you that each of these people has his own story, and the reason why they were sentenced to death may not be as simple as it seems.”

A man in rough clothes was brought to the front, who seemed to be the oldest of the group. He looked up, his eyes full of resentment and indomitable spirit, "We shouldn't be here, we are just victims!"

Green was puzzled, and he exchanged a look with Freiza. Freiza stepped forward and pointed at the man. "You call yourself a victim, but what did you do?"

"I didn't do anything wrong!" the man roared, "My family was wronged, I can only fight with all my might! This is all for survival!"

"For survival?" Freiza smiled coldly. "Does it mean you can hurt innocent people just for your own survival?"

"That's enough, Freiza!" Green raised his hand to stop Freiza's questioning. He wanted to give the prisoner a chance to explain. It was crucial for him to understand the background of these people. "What's your name?"

"Arvo, how was your family wronged?" Green asked, trying to remain calm.

The man took a deep breath, suppressed his anger, and slowly told the story. "I got a minor illness in the village, but the doctors at the time were unable to cure it. My village has been oppressed by a greedy landlord. In order to cover up his evil deeds, the landlord pushed me and my family into a desperate situation. They accused us of being traitors and wanted to seize our land."

After listening to Alvo's story, Green felt a wave of emotion in his heart. He remembered that he had experienced similar helplessness and despair before. Now these prisoners seemed to be another version of himself. His tone became softer, "But resistance will eventually come at a price, even if you are trying to protect your family."

"Yes, the price of resistance may be life." Arvo's voice became lower and lower, as if he realized the ending he was about to face.

Freiza took this opportunity to interject, "You should still understand that the path you have chosen is not the right one. Such a life will only bring more casualties and suffering."

“This may make sense to you, but it’s just an invisible wall in front of us,” Arvo said bitterly, “I don’t want to die behind such a wall.”

At this time, another young prisoner also spoke up. His eyes showed cowardice and despair, "We were sentenced not because we did anything wrong, but because we have no right to defend ourselves."

"Who are you?" Freiza said with disdain, his voice full of pressure.

"My name is Milo," the young prisoner whispered, trembling slightly. He looked at Freiza fearfully, then turned to look at Green. "I'm just an ordinary farmer. I don't want myself and my family to be dragged into such a vortex."

"But your choices have brought you here." Freisa said coldly, "You should know that this is not a problem that can be solved with mercy."

"Maybe in your eyes, I did something wrong, but I had no choice." Milo choked, tears quietly sliding down, "I just want to survive, I just want my family to survive!"

All the past events flashed through his mind, and he couldn't help but think of the meaning of life. He turned around and looked at the moonlight outside the window, as if thinking about something.

"Green," Freisa suddenly interrupted his thoughts with an imperative tone, "We can't hesitate here. These people have been sentenced. There is no meaning for them to survive here!"

"But we can't be the executioners of the death penalty either." Green's voice was firm and low. "Life is precious. No matter what the reason is, I can't easily deprive them of their lives."

Freisa shook his head helplessly. "Who are you arguing with? You are the owner of the manor, and the final decision should be made by you. No matter what, I will support your decision, but I hope you can understand the importance of staying calm."

The power he possessed over the fate of these prisoners seemed to weigh heavily on him, as if the repressed string in his heart could break at any time.

"Arvo, Milo, what will you do if I release you?" Green finally asked in a low voice.

"We will leave here and survive." A hint of surprise appeared on Arvo's face, but then he became cautious. "But are you sure you can trust us? We have been wrongly labeled, how can we return to normal life?"

"Give us one chance and we'll never go back down this path again," Milo said eagerly.

"In this world, sometimes we need to make choices." Green put aside his hesitation and said in a firm but gentle tone, "I will not take your lives easily, but you must promise not to put yourself in such a situation again."

"Yes! We will definitely comply!" The two prisoners' eyes were filled with tears, with gratitude and relief intertwined in their hearts.

"Freiza, our decision is... we release them." Green said slowly and firmly, with determination in his tone.

Freiza looked at Green in astonishment, shock in his eyes, "Are you really ready for this?"

"Yes, I will not go against my conscience. No matter what the consequences are, this decision is necessary for me," Green said firmly.

At this moment, the prisoners looked at each other and looked at him in disbelief. The bright moonlight illuminated the expressions on everyone's faces - hope, astonishment, and a hint of fear.

"So, how should we arrange what to do next?" Freisa finally showed a helpless expression.

"We need to prepare some supplies for them so that they can leave here safely." Green said slowly, and the long-lost gentleness finally appeared on his face.

"I'll take care of this matter." Fresa breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that Green had made up his mind.
