Chapter 134 Harry's Patronus Charm

"Are you sure you want to learn it? The Patronus Charm is not easy, and it is not commonly used." Lupin said.

Harry nodded in confusion, "Yes sir, I am aware of that."

Seeing that he insisted, Lupin explained the Patronus Charm to him: "The Patronus Charm is a force, like a shield, it will stand between the wizard who summons it and the Dementors to protect the wizard."

Harry still nodded and said, "Yes, I know."

Lupin raised his eyebrows and looked at him in appreciation and said, "It seems that you know more than I thought. So, do you know what it takes to make it successful?"

It was obvious that Harry didn't know the answer to this question. After Harry shook his head awkwardly, Lupin continued, "To summon a Patronus, you need a memory, and it must be a happy and beautiful memory. Do you understand?"

Harry nodded seriously and responded, "Got it!"

Lupin placed a hand on his shoulder and said, "Very good, close your eyes, concentrate, and recall a good memory."

Harry closed his eyes and recalled many happy memories. Lupin looked at the face in front of him and said in his heart: "Harry, your eyes are very similar to your mother's, but it's only your eyes. When you close your eyes, I can see James again."

Lupin closed his eyes with a sour look on his face. When he opened them again, he had adjusted his mood. He walked around Harry and continued, "Did you find it? Immerse yourself in it, and then say the spell, Patronus."

Harry took a deep breath and followed him: "Expecto Patronus."

Lupin walked to the podium in the empty classroom and said, "Very good, pick up your wand and try it once."

Harry nodded and pulled out his wand from his trouser pocket. Lupin also walked to the big box containing the Boggart, and after confirming with Harry's eyes, he opened the box.

A Dementor floated out, and its tall and thin body gave people a great sense of oppression and fear.

Harry pointed his wand at it and chanted spells, but he still fainted without realizing it. When he opened his eyes, he was lying on the ground.

Seeing that he had woken up, Lupin helped him up and handed him a piece of chocolate. Seeing Harry's apologetic look, he comforted him, "It's okay, Harry. I didn't expect you to succeed in one try. If that were the case, it would be too much."

Harry sighed and said, "This Dementor is really powerful."

Lupin stood up and walked aside and said, "No, it's just a Boggart. If it's a Dementor, it must be more powerful than this. But I'm curious, which memory did you just choose?"

Harry stumbled to his feet and said, "My...first time playing Quidditch."

Lupin shook his head and said, "That's not enough."

Harry tilted his head, took a deep breath, closed his eyes and said, "There was another period. It was my happiest day, but also sad. It was very contradictory."

“Is it powerful?”

Harry looked up at Lupin and nodded, and Lupin said, "Then give it a try. Are you ready?"

Harry walked to the box again. He looked at it firmly and raised his wand: "Let's start."

As the box opened, the Dementors appeared again. Harry looked at the monster he feared, forced himself to calm down and recited the spell.

But his wand didn't respond at all. Looking at the Dementors getting closer and closer, he remembered that when he was falling from a high altitude during the competition that day, he seemed to have seen a white fox.

Hermione and the others had said that it was Mavis who summoned him. Thinking of this, his heart became firm. The touching moment his mother risked her life to protect him, the surprise of becoming a Gryffindor seeker like his father, the happiness of meeting Mavis, the excitement of entering Hogwarts for the first time, and the happy time with Ron and Hermione, these fragments emerged in his mind.

He raised his wand and chanted the spell again. An intense white light burst out of the wand, and although it did not form a patronus, it formed a shield that blocked the Boggart.

Seeing Harry showing signs of success, Lupin's face was filled with relief and happiness. He said excitedly, "Very good! Very good!"

Harry moved his wand slowly downwards, and the shield pressed the Boggart back into the box, and Lupin cooperated by closing the lid.

Looking at the locked box, Harry breathed a sigh of relief and leaned against the pillar beside him, breathing heavily.

Lupin smiled happily and said, "Very good Harry, very good!"

Harry smiled shyly and nodded, "That'll be it for today."

Lupin handed him another piece of chocolate and said, "Okay, then sit down and have some of this. It's very effective."

After Harry sat down with him and took a bite of chocolate, Lupin looked at him and said, "Harry, you are definitely no worse than your father, and this is not a low evaluation."

Harry smiled and nodded and said, "He was also in the memory I chose."

When Lupin heard him say this, he felt filled with heartache. Why did the savior have to be the only child of his good friend?
