Chapter 191: Isn’t the killing curse simple?

After dinner, Dumbledore stood on the podium again. He coughed twice and said:

"Please pay attention! I need to say a few words in the Triwizard Tournament! Eternal glory will belong to the winner of the tournament, but to become the winner you must pass three extremely difficult tasks!

Therefore, the Ministry of Magic has introduced new rules! Now, Mr. Barty Crouch, Director of the Department of International Magical Cooperation, will introduce the detailed rules to you..."

He loudly introduced the pros and cons and rules of the Triwizard Tournament.

Suddenly, there was a huge thunder from the ceiling, and the deafening noise scared everyone in the auditorium.

Then Mad-Eye Moody 2.0 made his grand entrance! As soon as he appeared, he used a silent spell to turn the cloudy sky into a starry night, showing his powerful magical ability.

Moody was wearing a black robe, a pair of strange fake eyeballs on his face, and a long wand in his hand. He walked with a limp but was very majestic.

The young wizards all looked at him in amazement. Some said he looked scary, while others whispered that he was an extremely powerful Auror.

His fake eyeballs swept across the students in the audience with intimidation, and then he walked towards Dumbledore.

After Dumbledore warmly welcomed Moody, he cleared his throat and continued to remind the students about the requirements and precautions of the Triwizard Tournament.

Finally, he announced in an excited voice: "The Triwizard Tournament has officially begun!"

As Headmaster Dumbledore finished his words, there was warm applause and cheers from the audience, and today's meeting in the auditorium came to an end.

Moody was the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts this semester, and the fourth-year students happened to be there in the last class the next morning.

Perhaps because of his scary and majestic expression, everyone was relatively quiet after arriving at the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom early. Even the usually noisy little lions became restrained.

As the bell rang, Moody walked into the classroom on time. Seeing the students who were as quiet as chickens, he smiled with satisfaction, walked up to the podium and began to introduce himself.

"Alastor Moody, former Auror, traitor to the Ministry of Magic!"

As he spoke, he picked up a piece of chalk and quickly wrote his name, then threw the chalk away casually.

The calligraphy on the blackboard was as uninhibited and free as he was. His eyes swept over every student in the classroom and he continued casually and majestically:

"I'm here at Dumbledore's invitation. I'm now your new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. That's it. Do you have any questions?"

All the students in the classroom were silent and looked at him quietly.

He glanced at Harry and continued to talk to himself, "When it comes to the Dark Arts, I believe that practice makes perfect, but who can tell me how many Unforgivable Curses there are?"

His words made all the young wizards in the classroom gasp. Hermione, as the student who liked to answer questions the most, gritted her teeth and answered him.

Moody nodded and frantically wrote the Unforgivable Curses on the blackboard, then drew an equal sign and wrote Azkaban.

He said to everyone excitedly: "The Ministry of Magic thinks these spells are not suitable for you children, but I don't think so. You must be prepared at all times! After all, the enemy will not use it on you just because you are students!"

Wuyou subconsciously nodded slightly to show his agreement. Although Barty Crouch Jr. was a Death Eater, it must be said that he really did teach some things. Compared with Garlic Brother and Peacock, his teaching content was much better!

Moody was writing on the blackboard with his back to them, and Seamus took the opportunity to stick his gum under the table.

But in the next second, Moody called him out: "You need to find a place to put your chewing gum instead of sticking it under the table! Mr. Finnigan!"

Simo complained in a surprised voice: "Oh my God, this old man can see even with his back to me?!"

Moody threw the chalk at him and shouted, "Not only can I see it, I can even hear it!"

Simo dodged his chalk head in fear and blinked timidly. His desk mate Luo Yunchi was trying to hold back his laughter until his back teeth were almost broken.

Wuyou muttered in his heart: Haha, poor Ximo...

Before she could even smile, Moody called out, "Ms. Changsun, right?! I guess you and I share the same opinion. How about you tell me what the Unforgivable Curses are?"

Wuyou was stunned for a moment, then nodded, stood up and replied: "Okay, professor, the Unforgivables are the Imperius Curse, the Cruciatus Curse, and the Avada Kedavra Curse."

Looking at Wuyou calmly saying the Unforgivable Curse that made other young wizards shudder, Moody showed a hint of admiration on his face.

"It seems that I was right. You are indeed very outstanding. Just based on this calmness, you are enough to crush many of your peers or even people from the same school."

Wuyou thanked him verbally, but in her heart she felt very embarrassed for the compliment. After all, Harry Potter fans in the 21st century can recite the three unforgivable curses calmly, not to mention someone like her who likes to use chopsticks to do some Avatar tricks on the big melon when she is bored at home.

After answering, Moody did not let Wuyou sit down, but called her to the podium.

Pansy and Draco looked at Wuyou nervously as he stood up. Hermione and Harry also held their breath.

Moody opened a glass bottle with a crazy laugh, took out a poisonous spider from it, and after making it bigger than his palm, he asked Wuyou: "Do you understand the Unforgivable Curse?"

Wuyou shook his head and replied, "I don't know, professor. I've only read about it in books."

Moody laughed a few times and said, "It's easy to learn attitude! But you can't learn real skills just by relying on textbooks. I guarantee you that now you can pick an Unforgivable Curse to try!"

Wuyou couldn't hide his curiosity and excitement when he heard this, but he still pretended to be surprised and said, "Isn't this a bit strange? I'm just a student..."

Because she had her back to the crowd, only Moody could see the excitement in her eyes. Moody saw himself in her student days, excited, curious, sober and cunning.

Over time, his impression of her became more and more favorable. If she knew how to judge the situation, he would not mind introducing her to Voldemort in the future so that she could also have a share of the supreme glory.

Moody laughed loudly and continued, "I promise! Even if you cast an Unforgivable Curse today, you will not be sent to Azkaban. This is what I teach. If anyone is not satisfied, they have to pass my test first!"

There was a flash of excitement in Wuyou's eyes, but he nodded hesitantly.

Moody stared at Wuyou's hand clenched into the wand with burning eyes, then put the spider on the table and motioned Wuyou to stand aside to show it.

Wuyou glanced at the spider, stood aside, drew out his wand and pointed it at it, and when Avada was about to blurt out "Eating a big melon", he quickly closed his mouth.

In the eyes of the students, she just couldn't bear to cast the Unforgivable Curse, but Moody of course saw through her real reason just now.

Even when Wuyou got stuck, he was very patient and said, "It's okay. It's just a try. No one can succeed at once. In the end, you all have to learn how to protect yourself. Instead of figuring it out on your own after graduation, it's better to have an experienced professor teach you, right?"

Wuyou took a deep breath, nodded, pointed at the spider and said, "crucio!"

The students looked at the spider in horror, but the spider still looked complacent, and it was obvious that her spell had failed.

Moody waved his hand and said, "Try the next one."

Wuyou clenched his wand and said again: "Imperio!"

The spider still didn't respond. Moody looked up and scanned the classroom and said, "This is the biggest reason why you will fail. If you don't have a strong desire to use the Unforgivable Curse in your heart, it won't work even if you recite it ten thousand times!"

Then he picked up the spider and said in a crazy voice: "Now! Watch my demonstration carefully!"

"Imperio!"

After he finished chanting the spell, the spider became sluggish for a moment.

With a wave of his wand, the spider jumped onto Crabbe's head, and Crabbe was so nervous that he almost cried.

Moody smiled disdainfully and said, "You don't have to look like you're dying. It won't bite anyone. Even if it did, St. Mungo's can save you. It's just a minor crime."

Ron exclaimed, "My God, he calls a life worse than death a minor sin?"

Moody laughed crazily and moved the spider over Ron's head. Ron turned extremely pale when he felt the spider's legs poking at his head.

Draco burst into laughter, and Moody moved his hand to Draco's face again. Draco shouted in panic, "Take it away!"

Now it was Ron's turn to laugh crazily. Moody laughed and waved his hands again, saying, "What should it do next? Jump out of the window and die? Or drown itself?"

The topic of death was too heavy for the young wizards. Looking at everyone's frowned brows and frightened expressions, a trace of contempt flashed across Moody's eyes.

But when he saw Wuyou standing beside him without changing his expression and even with curiosity in his eyes, his good mood returned instantly.

He threw the spider casually on the table and continued, "Many people have said in the past that they obeyed the You-Know-Who because they were under the Imperius Curse, but the problem is how do we know who is lying?"

Everyone had just experienced a terrifying spider attack and now they didn't dare to speak when faced with Moody's questions.

Moody glanced at the students in the audience who were even more silent than Arthur, then turned to Wuyou and asked, "Tell me, what should we do in this situation?"

Wuyou thought for a moment and replied, "Leviticus or Veritaserum?"

Moody was very satisfied with Wuyou's answer. He laughed and praised, "I think so too! But there are many idiots in the Ministry of Magic who always say that this is unreasonable. If we don't do this, then all suspicious people will be locked up in Azkaban! And is this reasonable for truly innocent people?!"

His words were to the point, clear and extremely inflammatory.

For a moment, the little wizards in the classroom ignored the horror of Legilimency and Veritaserum, which could reveal all of a person's secrets to the public, and even thought it was reasonable to use them on suspicious people.

Moody said to Wuyou again: "Now try the last spell seriously!"

Wuyou raised his wand and chanted, "Avada Kedavra!"

The spider scratched its leg leisurely, and Moody continued, "Come again! Remember that it will only succeed if you really want to use it!"

Wuyou chanted the spell again, and the spider turned its butt towards everyone and scratched its feet leisurely.

Moody's tone became stern and he still said, "Come again!"

Hermione shouted with determination: "Enough! You can't force Mavis like this, can't you see that she doesn't want to use the Unforgivable Curse?!"

Moody glanced at Hermione, frowned and smiled, "Gryffindor? You are so brave to stand up for a Slytherin. It seems that I underestimated her social skills. Let me think about it. Since you have such a good relationship with her, why not be her whetstone?"

Before anyone could react, he turned to Wuyou and said, "Mavis, right? I hope you can kill the spider before I use the Imperius Curse to make it bite her and save this warrior friend. What do you think?"

With that he laughed maniacally and waved his wand causing the spider to fly towards Hermione.

Wuyou immediately pointed his wand at the spider and shouted, "Avada Kedavra!"

As a green light hit the spider, Moody walked towards Worry-Free with an excited laugh, patted her on the shoulder and said loudly: "See! It's easy, isn't it? You did it! Hahahahaha!"

The spider fell lifelessly onto a student's book. Hermione looked at Wuyou in horror and anxiety.

Wuyou smiled at her comfortingly, and in an instant tears welled up in Hermione's eyes.
