Harry and Ron got Tom Marvolo Riddle's diary from Myrtle, which took Harry to see his memories when the Chamber of Secrets was opened fifty years ago.

That memory made Harry believe that Hagrid was the one who opened the Chamber of Secrets, and that the spider monster he raised was the monster that killed Muggles, but Ron and Hermione didn't think so. In the end, the three of them had to give up after the discussion failed to produce any result.

One morning, Neville urgently called Harry and Ron back to the dormitory because their dormitory was in a mess, as if it had been robbed by robbers. After confirmation by Harry, it was found that Tom Riddle's diary was stolen.
