Chapter 4: Meeting the First Friend

Zhang Deshuai and Qilin continued on the path of cultivation. One day, they came to a bustling town.

As soon as he entered the town, Zhang Deshuai was attracted by the bustling crowd and various novelties in front of him. Qilin excitedly shuttled among the crowd, looking around curiously.

As he was walking, Zhang Deshuai suddenly heard a quarrel not far away. He walked over curiously and saw two young men arguing over a small object.

"I clearly saw this first!" shouted a young man in fancy clothes.

Zhang Deshuai looked at the two men and couldn't help laughing. At this time, the young man in gorgeous clothes noticed Zhang Deshuai, glared at him and said, "What are you laughing at? What's so funny!"

Zhang Deshuai shrugged and said, "Nothing, I just think you two are quite interesting."

The young man looked Zhang Deshuai up and down, then said with disdain: "Humph, you poor guy, what do you know!"

Zhang Deshuai was not angry either, he just smiled and said: "I really don't understand the world of you rich people."

As he was talking, another young man suddenly came over and said enthusiastically: "Hey, brother, my name is Lin Youqian. You can tell from my name that my family is very rich!"

Zhang Deshuai burst into laughter at his self-introduction and said, "Lin Youqian, what an interesting name."

Zhang Deshuai thought for a moment and said, "Qilin and I are going to practice everywhere and improve our strength."

Lin Youqian's eyes lit up and he said, "Wow, practicing Buddhism, that's so interesting! I want to go with you too!"

Zhang Deshuai looked at Lin Youqian in surprise and said, "You? You are a rich kid, can you endure the hardship of practicing?"

Lin Youqian patted his chest and said, "Of course! I don't want to live like this doing nothing all my life."

Zhang Deshuai looked at Lin Youqian's determined eyes, and felt a little touched. He said, "Well, if you really want to join us, then let's go."

Lin Youqian cheered happily and started drinking heavily.

As they drank, Lin Youqian suddenly started talking about his family affairs.

"Brother, even though my family is rich, I am not happy at all." Lin Youqian said drunkenly.

Zhang Deshuai asked curiously, "Why?"

Zhang Deshuai smiled and said, "Then let's fight side by side from now on."

Lin Youqian nodded vigorously, then clinked his glasses with Zhang Deshuai.

At this moment, there was a sudden noise from outside. Zhang Deshuai and Lin Youqian looked at each other, then walked out of the pub together to check the situation.

Zhang Deshuai smiled and said, "You're welcome. This is what I should do."

So, Lin Youqian took the money and bought the jade pendant.

They continued to stroll around the market when they suddenly heard a quarrel not far away.

When they walked over, they saw that two stall owners were arguing over a stall.

"This is my stall, why are you taking it away!" a stall owner shouted.

"Humph, I obviously saw it first!" another stall owner responded unyieldingly.

Zhang Deshuai and Lin Youqian smiled at each other, then stepped forward to mediate.
