Mysteries: Arcana Wars

Chapter 308 Goodbye

"That lady just now, she actually went downstairs..."

Fors looked down.

"Okay, little cutie, it's time to take care of yourself!" Shining smiled and stepped on the accelerator, "Watch out to the upper left!"

A huge mutant rat fell from nowhere. It had four pairs of claws and four long tentacle-like tails. It pounced on Fors from the window of the transport plane with its fangs and claws bared. The frightened Fors immediately screamed and took out a round yellow pillow to block it. The rat that pounced on him was bounced back viciously.

[Funny Rebound]: A yellow pillow with a funny expression that will rebound any attack it receives. Please carry it with care to avoid being bounced away.

"Your pillow may look ugly, but it smells really good when you use it!" Shining laughed, "It always makes me feel like you're using a history student as a shield!"

"Don't you like people who study history?" Fors asked.

"When I was in college, the guys in the history department always had this funny expression on their faces. I didn't like those guys who just talked nonsense every day!"

The transport plane was climbing up quickly, but all kinds of things were still falling down. Broken building components and soil, screaming underground residents, threatening underground creatures and exiles... Everything that made up the underground city turned into a rain, falling down in the [underground well].

An exile grabbed their transport plane and stabbed the hole in the glass with a broken knife. Shining greeted the uninvited guest with interest, then started the [key] and stepped on the accelerator to pass through a seal layer. The unfortunate exile was smashed to pieces on the steel seal layer.

This was not the first person or other mutant to die on the transport plane. Broken bones and flesh hung on the damaged metal edges and glass cuts, and blood flowed along the cracks on the mechanical surface.

Fors felt that they were not going upwards, but ascending in various senses. The fast transport plane originally designed to reach the surface was now more like a violent juicer that could help people escape from a pile of zombies.

"Speaking of which, little cutie, after today, do you want to go somewhere to play?"

"Ah... ah?"

This conversation gave Fors an indescribable sense of absurdity. She looked at the glaring bloodstains and hideous cracks on the glass and felt her brain go numb.

"I never thought about it...where else can I go to have fun?"

"There are so many fun places! They're all around Backlund!"

Shining's tone was like that of a corporate worker who was about to get off work on Friday, discussing with colleagues where to go for a picnic on the weekend.

"But... I don't have any money... and I still have manuscripts to write... If I don't finish submitting the manuscripts that I've missed during this period, I won't even have the money to find a new apartment..."

"Margaret Memorial Park? Sadler Forest? Eric Botanical Garden? These places are all next to Backlund. You can go there and back within a day. They are all public projects and are free."

Shining smiled and spat out a mouthful of blood foam.

"Will you die if you don't write a manuscript for a day? Will your landlord kick you out if you don't write a single word that day? No, no, no, let's ask it another way.

"Even if you stay at home all day, how many words can you write?"

Fors was silent. She wanted to refute the argument by using her inner anxiety and the various external pressures, but she found that she could not organize a strong argument.

"Look, for you, money is not a problem, and time is not a problem either. Since it's only one day, why don't you go out for a walk and change your mood?"

"But...but..."

Fors stammered.

"I have never been out of Backlund..."

"I think you've experienced a lot of 'first times' during this period of time. Since you've managed to survive so smoothly until now, you must have done pretty well!

“My first time in the dungeon, my first time in Hazel Street, my first time meeting a newspaper seller in the dungeon…

"And the first murder."

Shining turned around and pressed a button next to Fors. Fors then realized that Shining was already riddled with holes like a broken clay doll, with fine red cracks all over Shining's body like spider webs. As she moved, dark red, large chunks of strange debris fell off.

The use of the [Key] is not without cost. They passed through so many seals in a short period of time, which caused great damage to the Shining's broken soul. The hidden pollution was restless in the wounds of the mind and soul.

"Damn it, I didn't expect that the higher the seals are, the stronger they become. Those guys from the Church of Evernight must have secretly reinforced them."

Shining cursed and laughed, completing the operation with difficulty with his shaking arms.

"Have you learned the basic operations?"

“I…I learned it…”

"Have you learned it?"

“I’ve learned it!!”

"Good! Very energetic!"

Shining clapped her hands in satisfaction. She looked up at the road above her. With a flash of blue light, the [Key] was successfully activated. They passed through another seal.

The transport plane was still moving at full speed. Shining threw the [Key] to Fors and simply climbed out from the hole in the glass, holding on to the machine and standing on the top of the transport plane.

As she laughed wildly and happily, more dark red debris floated down from her cracks like a dark red snow.

"It's time! Ms. Poet!!"

Fors frantically dug out the extraordinary pistol [Starlight], poked his head out, and tremblingly aimed it at Shining.

This pistol has never been so heavy, hot like a branding iron, painful like a thorn, and the trigger is hard as a rock. The longer I hold it, the more tears and snot flow.

Why! Why!

Why must we go this far!

"Does it have to be this way?"

Fors cried out.

“This is the best arrangement!”

Shining laughed.

"Shoot, Miss Poet!

"Now! Immediately! Immediately!

"Say goodbye to the cursed dungeon with me!"

She grasped the handle of the transport plane with one hand, stretched out her body with all her strength, tore off her work apron, and waved it around in the rain of falling underground cities.

“Tesla!

"Tesla!"

She shouted with great longing and at the top of her lungs.

Tesla—

"Return! To! The! Future!"

With a gunshot, Shining saw a warm and familiar blue light caressing her cheek. She closed her eyes and turned into a dark red snow, falling with the rain in the dungeon.

The helpless Fors collapsed all over, sitting on the ground exhausted, tears streaming down her face.

After a flash of blue light, the transport plane passed through the last layer of seal, and complex and sophisticated modern equipment jumped into Fors's empty eyes.

The message immediately spread throughout the entire Starshattering Building, and this huge extraordinary base immediately started to move, quickly and accurately dismantling the broken transport plane.

Fors held the Dark Lighthouse in her arms as she continued to rise. She watched the equipment enter the building, the outer shell of the transport plane being peeled off layer by layer, the equipment finally rising to the top and being securely connected to the building machinery, and Leonard and an old woman came into her sight.

"It's okay. It's all over."

Fors hugged the dim lighthouse and burst into tears.

She suddenly wanted to go to a park in the suburbs.
