Black Myth: You and I are both destined

Chapter 64, Story 2—The Birth of a Genius!

"Old monk, are you saying that there are no more powerful people in this world?"

The old monk smiled.

"I once said that the Jade Emperor, the Lord of Heaven and Earth, and Tathagata, the Lord of the West, have powers that reach heaven and earth and are omnipotent. If they were still around, how could their sect be in such a mess?"

"The saints are no longer in the world, which is no different from death!"

When the old monk said this, everything around him actively avoided him, the wind of no form stopped blowing, and the clouds of impermanence no longer moved.

In the original Journey to the West, Sun Wukong hoped that he could 'jump out of the Five Elements without being within the Three Realms'.

This is actually a very scary concept.

The three realms refer to the Buddhist realm of desire, realm of form, and realm of formlessness.

The five elements of gold, wood, water, fire and earth actually represent the four seasons and the four directions, among which earth represents the alternation of the four seasons and the center.

Therefore, the Three Realms and Five Elements refer to the entire universe in time and space, even including all thoughts.

The old monk's words, 'Not being in this world is the same as being dead', is far more terrifying than simple death. It is equivalent to sentencing all the powerful people in this world to eternal death, the kind that leaves nothing behind!

Tianming felt his arms getting cold and the blood seemed to be flowing backwards!

"No wonder the Great Sage said they were doomed. This is what happened!"

The old monk then continued.

"Chang'e has been waiting for Tianpeng for too long, from 500 years ago to now. Even a demon will soon die. Maybe there are still 10 years left, or maybe only two days."

"When the fairy Chang'e finishes this life, Tianpeng will attack the Heavenly Palace and snatch the "Nandouxing Death Book"."

"So when they say a lifetime, it's just a farewell to you."

"What do you understand now, man of destiny?"

"I know you think time is in a cycle, traveling west every 14 years, but there's more to it than meets the eye."

"and many more!"

Tianming stopped the old monk. He seemed to understand. When he first entered this world, the subtitles clearly stated that it would be 500 years after the journey to the West, and it was indeed 500 years later.

“Is this world real?”

The old monk replied: "It's true!"

This answer was no different from the 'very good' he had said before.

Whether the world is real or not depends on Tianming's perspective.

The light from the wedding banquet in the Moon-Watching Temple shone upon them. The guests who presented gifts there were their former mortal enemies, and the Earth God who pasted the couplets was a new acquaintance whom they met for the first time.

Some people and relationships are fake, only the feelings in the heart are real.

Tianming suddenly remembered a novel he had read before, so he answered the old monk.

"I understand that the world is fake, but love is real."

"Just like Tianpeng and Chang'e."

"I also have to embark on the road to move forward and keep the true feelings in my heart."

The old monk kept nodding.

"You are really smart."

He raised his hand and waved it, and the small slope revealed its real name - Pansiling.

"You are right. There is truth in this world, but it is rare. You have seen the source of the disaster. In the next story, you will also know how the world has become a mess."

"What these gods and Buddhas are trying to steal is called spiritual essence. The spiritual essence is the root of all life and phenomena. It gives life and energy to all living things."

"If you master the spiritual essence, you can become a god superior to others!" This sentence was said by Tianming and the old monk at the same time!

For the first time, the old monk showed an expression of surprise.

"you……"

"As expected of a man of destiny..."

The old monk took out a stick.

"This willow stick isn't very powerful, but wood overcomes earth. If you stick it into the ground, it can stabilize the soul. If it is defeated and its body is destroyed and its soul is scattered, it can return."

Tianming complained: "Isn't this a spirit-calling flag? I didn't expect you to have something like this."

The old monk looked serious.

"The depths of the Soul-Holding Cliff is called Buji Valley, where the Four Rivers Dragon Gods hide. The Little Black Dragon of Jishui has hidden a loose stone stick. You can only go to Huangfeng Ridge to find Sun Wukong if you get it. Otherwise, it will be difficult for you to achieve anything."

"Is this the second story you asked me to read?"

"If I can defeat the Four Dragon Gods, do I still need to hear stories?"

"Forget it. I don't want to hear this story. I'd better go straight to the Monkey King."

Hearing that it was a job to die, Tianming tidied his hair and walked towards the Wangyue Temple, ready to attend the wedding.

"If you don't want to go, then don't go. But the loose stone sticks can stir up the wind and sand. It's like a thunderstorm!"

Hearing the old monk's deliberate words, Tianming stopped.

The old monk continued speaking.

"I've heard that his brother, the Red Bearded Dragon, has a Red Bearded Lightning Stick hidden. This is much more powerful than the thunderbolt. I guess even the Golden Haired Hound under Guanyin's seat, who claims to be fearless of thunderbolts, can't withstand it!"

Tianming pouted and cursed in his heart.

"This old monk knows everything. It seems he wants to take me for granted."

"I wanted to kill those gods and Buddhas who harmed us, including the fake Guanyin, the Buddha who instigated her, and the people in heaven who helped him set up the scheme. But I never thought about provoking any unknown monsters or future dragons."

"This old man is clearly trying to make me do hard labor in the name of helping me!"

Tianming gritted his teeth and said viciously.

"The place you want to trick me into going to is ruled by a great demon king. I don't know how powerful the Four Dragon Gods are!"

Tianming raised his left hand and made a gesture of rubbing money.

The old monk quickly tightened his collar!

"I don't have money, but I will definitely give you something good, a thousand times better than the Buddha treasure you cheated from Kinnara!"

This old monk is really extraordinary. He even knows what Tianming does in private.

Tianming had no choice but to agree.

"Ok."

Then he complained in a low voice.

"My boss during my internship gave me eggs instead of bonuses during the Chinese New Year. He said that the gift was small but the sentiment was great. It represented the company's blessing and was a good thing that was priceless."

The old monk pretended to be hard of hearing at this moment.

"After you go to the Soul Cliff, I will help you become stronger, and then..."

"I know."

Tianming interrupted the old monk and answered very confidently.

"I understand. Don't you just want to be Zhang Juzheng?"

"Let me kill those separatist demon kings, then become stronger and recover the out-of-control Four Rivers, fight against the Six Thieves, and thus gain control of the distribution of spiritual essence, redistribute the spiritual essence, and save the situation."

After hearing this, the old monk exclaimed in amazement.

What Tianming said was exactly right. This was what he most hoped for, and only such a plan could save millions of lives from suffering.

The old monk jumped up from the rock as if he had found a treasure and held Tianming's hand.

Tianming continued.

"This kind of thing is easy to see, but I have a better way than you."

The old monk almost laughed his teeth off and asked hurriedly, "Do you have any other good ideas?"

"Oh, this is easy. I will defeat the six thieves first and take control of the spiritual essence. Then I will kill anyone who wants to steal the spiritual essence."

The old monk asked again: "And then?"

Tianming was puzzled: "What then?"

"Since everyone wants to grab the spiritual essence, why don't I just grab it all?"

Tianming didn't notice the expression on the old monk's face at all at this moment and continued to brag.

"You may not understand, but a doctor once told me that I have bipolar disorder and that I would be extremely creative during my manic phase. Of course, I think so too, haha!"
