Hogwarts: I am the White Lord
Chapter 308: Mouse, Lion, Dragon?
At the Dursleys' house, Harry found that life this year was even more pleasant than last year.
Today, Vernon has been promoted to the general manager of the company. He is so proud of himself that he goes to work every day with his head held high and wearing an exquisite suit.
The change in his status made him even more determined to cling to Harry.
So since Harry came back, although he didn't have everything handed to him, he didn't have to do any work at all. In addition, he had a huge supply of snacks, which was a treatment that even Dudley couldn't get.
Dudley was jealous of this for a long time and would sneak into Harry's room every day to ask him for snacks.
After coming back for nearly a week, Harry has gradually adapted to this kind of life and has gained two or three pounds.
"Harry, come and eat!"
Hearing Aunt Petunia's call, Harry came down from upstairs.
Vernon was already sitting at the dining table, and when he saw Harry coming down, he smiled at him kindly.
Dudley was sitting in front of the TV, his eyes glued to the screen while he kept stuffing piles of cockroaches into his mouth.
"Dudley," Petunia screamed, "stop eating that disgusting food and come and eat."
"Got it, got it." Dudley bit another cockroach candy hard, then stood up and slowly walked to the dining table.
"Why are there only vegetables and no meat at all!" Dudley complained dissatisfiedly, "I want to eat meat."
"I've told you before that you can't eat beef recently." Petunia put a plate of cut fruit on the dining table and sat down next to Dudley.
Since the outbreak of mad cow disease in May, the British people have basically bid farewell to beef.
The government has tried hard to find the cause of the outbreak, but has not been able to do so. Now the scope of the mad cow disease spreads wider and wider, with a tendency to spread to other neighboring countries.
"The government may have found the cause of mad cow disease," Vernon muttered, "but they're just afraid to say it."
"What about chicken and pork? We can eat these meats, right?" Dudley was sulking and didn't want to eat. He glanced at Harry's plate and said unhappily, "Why does Harry have chicken legs? I want some too!"
Vernon cleared his throat and advised Dudley, "Harry is too thin compared to you. He needs to eat more meat to grow."
"As for you, Mr. Swan said that you are a little oversized and need to control your body shape. Just eat your vegetables. If you can lose ten pounds this summer, I will reward you with one thousand pounds."
Harry felt like laughing when he thought of Professor Swann telling Uncle Vernon that Dudley needed to get his weight under control.
He lowered his head and smiled secretly, then concentrated on eating his meal.
I wonder how Sirius is doing now?
He took a bite of the chicken leg and thought back to the last time he saw Sirius in Hogsmeade before taking the Hogwarts Express.
In order to make a living, Sirius used the compensation money from the Ministry of Magic to rent a stall in the New Town to sell some trick-or-treating props he made himself.
Harry also persuaded him to find a decent job, which would at least earn him a lot more salary and provide him with a secure life.
Harry even thought about asking Sebastian to help arrange a job for Sirius.
But when Sirius heard this, he refused without hesitation.
He vowed to Harry: "It's impossible to work for others, let alone work for a stinking swan. Only when you are your own boss can you live a comfortable life."
Harry once wanted to take out some funds from Gringotts to help Sirius get through the most difficult initial stage, at least to rent a store in Hogsmeade instead of a mobile stall.
But Sirius didn't feel comfortable using his grandchildren's money to develop his own business, so he firmly rejected Harry's kindness, even if Harry wanted to invest in it.
Fortunately, he had a great talent for alchemy, and he also had experience in making live maps in his youth, so some of the mischievous gadgets he made were quite popular among students.
Fred and George loved it so much that they immediately paid for a lot of gadgets.
Sirius borrowed some more money from Lupin to buy the basic materials for refining props, and then he refined the props non-stop every day.
In this way, in the past half month, relying on the support of news traffic and interesting products, he has established a firm foothold in the new city of Hogsmeade.
Although students are on vacation now, his business is not much worse.
After all, the new town of Hogsmeade has a huge flow of people, and wizards from all over the world go there to play every day. The little gadgets made by Sirius are really suitable to be used as small gifts for his younger generations.
Moreover, more and more wizards have chosen to settle in Hogsmeade. As far as Harry knows, most of the graduated seniors have chosen to buy houses there.
Sirius had no shortage of customers, he just complained to Harry that his hand speed was not fast enough.
Harry took a sip of his soup and thought absentmindedly.
Perhaps he could make some gadgets while he was at his aunt's house and help Sirius share some of the burden.
Although I still have to study with Professor Snape during the day, I can still squeeze out some time at night.
By the way, the day after tomorrow is Peter Pettigrew’s execution day. I wonder if Sirius will go to watch it in person.
Thinking of Peter Pettigrew, Harry felt a strange worry in his heart.
He remembered what Ron had said to him and Hermione after the Divination exam.
Ron said that after the exam, he returned the crystal ball to Professor Trelawney as he walked out of the classroom.
As a result, Professor Trelawney seemed to be having a seizure, with empty eyes and a hoarse voice, saying some incomprehensible words.
"The rats fled, the devil resurrected, and the blood dyed the earth red. The lions glared, the dragons spread their wings, and the pattern of a thousand years was changed!"
Ron had retold it in a joking tone at the time, and given Trelawney's reputation in the school, none of the three of Harry took the prophecy seriously.
After all, Professor Trelawney made several predictions at school every year, but no one had ever seen any of them come true.
Therefore, up to now, Harry had not told any of his elders about the prophecy that Ron had heard.
However, as Peter's execution day approaches, Harry always feels that something is wrong, as if there is a breath stuck in his heart.
Although Harry didn't think that Professor Trelawney's prediction would come true, he couldn't help but think about it over and over again in the past two days.
Was the mouse referring to Peter Pettigrew? Who were the lion and the dragon referring to?
The Ministry of Magic couldn't just let Peter get away knowing that he was an Animagus.
If this is the case, then the Ministry of Magic is too incompetent.
Harry gave up thinking to no avail. He finished the food in front of him in a few bites and walked upstairs.
"I'm done eating, so I'm going back to my room to study."
