Hogwarts: I am the White Lord

Chapter 361 The time of waiting is always tormenting

The dancing blue flame instantly attracted the attention of all the little wizards.

"The champions of every tournament are determined by the Goblet of Fire, and the champions it selects every time are always convincing enough to convince the crowd, so please trust its reliability."

Dumbledore continued, "Students who wish to participate in the Warrior Selection, please write your names on a piece of parchment after the banquet and then drop the parchment into the Goblet of Fire."

"You have 24 hours to think about whether you really want to participate in the warrior selection. After the Halloween dinner tomorrow, the Goblet of Fire will automatically select warriors who can represent each school from the students who have submitted their names."

"During these twenty-four hours, the Goblet of Fire will remain in this hall for everyone to access."

Hearing this, the little wizards became excited and wanted to take out the parchment and write their names on it right away. Unfortunately, everyone had put their school supplies back to the dormitory, and no one had parchment with them now.

Dumbledore waited quietly for a while, until the discussion died down, then he continued.

"There are two things you need to pay attention to. First, the magic level of students participating in the selection must reach the level of adult wizards."

"Don't worry, Professor!" The little wizards below echoed.

"Everyone agrees with the method of selecting based on strength. I think those guys with insufficient magic power will not be so ignorant."

"We'll help keep an eye on it, and if anyone overestimates their abilities we'll definitely laugh at him."

Listening to the buzzing discussion, Dumbledore smiled slightly and said, "Don't bother. I will draw a circle of magic lines myself. Only students whose magic power meets the standard can cross this line and touch the Goblet of Fire."

"Secondly, I want to give you all a piece of advice." Dumbledore's expression became serious and his voice became much louder.

"The events in the tournament are extremely dangerous. Even though they have been inspected by the Ministry of Magic and even though we have taken a lot of safety measures, there is no guarantee that the warriors will not be in mortal danger."

The young wizards gradually became serious. They could all hear the truth in Dumbledore's words from his tone.

"I must remind everyone that the Top Five Tournament is not a joke. You must think twice before participating in it. Don't rush into it."

"Once your name is chosen by the Goblet of Fire, there will be no room for regret. You must persist in the competition to the end, because you have signed a magical contract with the Goblet of Fire that cannot be violated."

"As for the consequences of violating the contract," Dumbledore glanced at the pairs of eyes full of curiosity, "Believe me, no one is willing to bear the price of losing magic power."

"The dinner is over. Good night everyone."

After saying that, Dumbledore stretched out his wand and drew a circle composed of magic lines with the table where the Goblet of Fire was placed as the center.

The other headmasters also checked it out personally, and only left after they were sure that the effect of the magic line was no different from what Dumbledore had said.

The next day was Saturday. Normally, students would sleep a little longer, but no one chose to stay in bed. Some would-be warriors even got up earlier than usual.

There was no way, they were so excited that they didn't sleep well all night.

Many students who did not meet the requirements also came to the auditorium early. While watching the warriors throw in their names, they discussed who would truly stand out.

When Harry and the other two arrived at the hall, it was a bustling scene everywhere.

"Fred," Harry stopped him and asked, "What's the situation now? How many people have submitted their names?"

"It was me and George, and Cedric, and Roger Davis, and Angelina, and a lot of the guys that were doing great in the Canyon."

“The largest group is the seventh graders,” George added, “Of course there are still many canyon regulars who haven’t shown up yet. They probably think there’s still a lot of time left and aren’t in a hurry.”

"Where are the students from other schools?" Hermione asked.

"They all came early and have already put their names in."

"After hearing about the copy, they are eager to experience it, so they are now going to Professor McGonagall to apply for a temporary student ID."

Harry and the other two nodded, said goodbye to the twins, and walked towards the Goblet of Fire.

"Do I still need to invest in a name?" Ron hesitated when the time came. "I have only just reached the adult wizard level a few days ago, and my performance in the canyon is not very impressive."

"I think," he stammered, "that my chances of being chosen as a warrior are slim."

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Hermione encouraged her caringly. "You have been working so hard for the past two months, spending all day in the dueling hall, just for today."

"It's amazing that you were able to reach the level of an adult wizard in less than two months."

"Submit your name in. It's no big deal if you're not selected."

"Ron," Harry patted him on the shoulder. "It's easy to give it a try. When you're looking for a job, you can put your participation in the Warriors Selection on your resume."

"After all, many people can't even meet this requirement."

As he spoke, he grabbed Ron's arm and walked directly into the magic line.

See? This is proof of qualification!

Seeing this, Ron no longer hesitated and put his name into the Goblet of Fire with Harry.

The waiting time is always torturous. As soon as the sky darkened, the little wizards came to the auditorium impatiently.

In order to welcome Halloween, the entire auditorium was decorated in a spooky and scary way.

Swarms of pitch-black bats circled low in the sky, dangling pumpkin lanterns in their mouths.

The originally bright lights in the entire auditorium were adjusted to be much dimmer, giving the scene a more eerie atmosphere.

Ghosts that usually don't show up easily appeared one after another, and kept greeting the little wizards who came and went.

The long tables of the four colleges were filled with candies. In addition, there were many Halloween-themed desserts, such as spider cakes and bloody pudding.

In order to let visitors experience the enthusiasm of Hogwarts, the little ones of Hogwarts presented an hour-long wonderful show after dinner.

Since they had shown their weakness at the farewell dinner at Ilvermorny, Sebastian had asked some clubs to prepare programs early this time.

The dance, talk show, chorus and Luna's solo won rounds of applause from the little wizards.

In the auditorium, there were also some Swan Media staff holding magic cameras, broadcasting the opening ceremony live to wizards around the world from different angles.

When the last show was over, Dumbledore came to the Goblet of Fire table.

The auditorium suddenly became silent. The students stretched their necks, and each of their faces showed an expression of anxiety and anticipation.

“Thanks to the students for their wonderful performance. I think everyone can’t wait for the announcement of the Warriors roster.”

Dumbledore looked around at everyone and spoke with a smile.

"Before announcing the official results, I want to say in advance that after the warriors are selected, I need you to walk down the professor's seat and enter the room next door."

He pointed to the door behind the professorial chair.

“There, you will receive instruction on the first steps to becoming a warrior.”
