Hogwarts: I am the White Lord

Chapter 532 Who are those Death Eaters that appeared?

At Riddle Mansion, Lucius arrived at the gate exhausted. He had just returned from the French wizarding world and came to attend the Death Eater meeting convened by Voldemort without even a sip of water.

The moon was high in the sky. He glanced at the newly grown snakewood tree in the yard, waved his wand, straightened his wizard robe, pushed the door open and walked in.

There was a faint smell of dampness and decay in the air, as if the entire mansion was immersed in some lingering shadow.

The hall was very spacious, but the light from the magic lamp was very weak, making the whole room shrouded in darkness.

A long ebony conference table stretched across the center of the room. Its surface was polished as smooth as a mirror, reflecting the blurry figures of the wizards sitting on both sides.

Voldemort sat in the main seat, with a high-back chair with a coiled snake carving behind him. Nagini was perched on the back of the chair behind him, quietly peeking at the entire room.

His slender and pale fingers slowly stroked the old wand in his hand, his eyes slightly lowered, with no expression on his face. Only his scarlet pupils occasionally flashed slightly, as if he was thinking about the confusion in his heart.

On both sides of the conference table, several Death Eaters were silent, each with their heads bowed, sitting respectfully in their respective seats.

Lucius walked skillfully to his seat, next to him was Snape with an expressionless face.

Silence spread in the room, with only the faint sound of Voldemort's fingers stroking his wand occasionally breaking through the air, making people uneasy.

The Death Eaters arrived one after another. They found their seats silently. Even the sound of the chair legs scraping across the ground was deliberately suppressed, as if they were afraid of disturbing the Dark Lord in the main seat.

When the last person sat down, both sides of the long table were already full. Barty Crouch Jr. stood up, bowed slightly respectfully to Voldemort, and broke the silence in the room with a soft voice.

"Master, everyone is here, we can start the meeting."

Voldemort raised his head, glanced at the Death Eaters on both sides of the long table, and a strange smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.

"Welcome, Death Eaters, it's good to see you again."

"Originally, I was planning to take a break, but the news reports forced me to summon you to hold a meeting here late at night."

As he spoke, he waved the Elder Wand at the magical TV in the room. The TV turned on and the serious voice of the news anchor rang out.

【Dear viewers, welcome to Swan News. We have just received news that shocked the world - Gringotts around the world were attacked violently by Death Eaters almost at the same time.

According to reports from reporters at the front line, the Death Eaters broke into Gringotts in various places with lightning speed and slaughtered the goblins without mercy. Gringotts was flooded with blood. Although the magical governments of various countries have sent law enforcement personnel to provide support, the results have been minimal.

It is understood that everything was caused by the goblins angering a mysterious man.

Currently, the goblin community has suffered heavy casualties, with only a few survivors, and the financial system of the wizarding world has fallen into unprecedented turmoil.

We will continue to follow up and report on the follow-up situation for you. 】

"I once ordered you to go to various countries and expand our influence," Voldemort said slowly, his fingertips gently stroking the Elder Wand, as if recalling something. "Now it seems that you have done a good job. You can actually conquer Gringotts in various countries on your own. You are very capable, and I should reward you."

He paused, the corners of his mouth slightly raised, as if with a hint of approval.

"But..." His voice suddenly sank, the air in the room seemed to freeze, and everyone subconsciously held their breath.

His eyes slowly swept across the Death Eaters present, and a cold chill was revealed in his deep red eyes: "Why don't I remember issuing an order for you to attack Gringotts in various countries?"

No one dared to make a sound; even the sound of swallowing saliva was forcibly suppressed.

"I'm very curious, what is the reason that allows you to act without my permission?"

Voldemort withdrew his gaze and tapped the edge of the long table with his fingers, making a dull sound. Each tap seemed to strike at the Death Eaters' hearts. They all lowered their heads, with dense cold sweat oozing from their foreheads, for fear of becoming the focus of that gaze.

"Yaxley, you have been in charge of the affairs of the American wizarding world. Can you tell me what is going on?"

"Master," Yaxley said respectfully, "I saw on the news that the goblins had angered you. In the heat of the moment, the new members proposed to teach the goblins a lesson. While helping you vent your anger, they also wanted to make meritorious contributions as soon as possible so that they could be gloriously transferred to your side and serve you."

"This proposal was well received. By the time I got the news, those people had already broken into Gringotts in the United States."

"I failed to supervise properly, please punish me, Master."

"Oh," Voldemort said noncommittally, "it turns out that this is a spontaneous organization, all for the purpose of showing loyalty to me."

Seeing that Voldemort had no intention of blaming him, Avery said tentatively, "Master, it's almost the same here in Germany. Everyone just wants to vent their anger on your behalf. I can sense that they are sincere."

"Master, it's the same here in Russia."

“Sweden too…”

"Poland too..."

The Death Eaters spoke up one after another, saying that the incident happened suddenly and they just wanted to vent their anger on behalf of their master.

"Master," Yaxley spoke again, "Don't worry, I will discipline you strictly in the future, and you will never act without orders again."

"Oh, that's right," Voldemort nodded, "But can someone explain to me what's going on with the Death Eaters in Egypt? I don't remember anyone being in charge there!"

"No one is responsible for the African continent or the Asian continent. Who are the Death Eaters that appeared there?"

Voldemort's voice became increasingly low, as cold as the wind that penetrated into the bone marrow: "You bunch of idiots, can't you see by now? Someone is using the name of Death Eaters to stir up trouble!"

“Africa, Asia, those attacks were not our doing at all!” Voldemort’s fingers suddenly tightened, tightly gripping the Elder Wand, as if he would rain down his wrath at any moment. “Even the remnants of your newly recruited troops may not be clean!”

Ever since he appeared out of nowhere, no one has ever dared to pretend to be a Death Eater and cause trouble.

Now, someone is brazenly using their name to do whatever they want, and even throwing all the dirty water on him. This is intolerable!

In the silence, the Death Eaters finally reacted and cold sweat instantly broke out on their foreheads.

In addition to being terrified, they all leaned forward to express their opinions, patting their chests and swearing that they would thoroughly investigate the matter when they returned, and would catch those who dared to impersonate others and make them pay the heaviest price.

Just then, a voice suddenly sounded from the crowd.

"Master, everything has its two sides. This may not be an opportunity for us Death Eaters to accelerate our rise..."
