Harry Potter: Who cares about belated motherly love?

Chapter 8 Forcing Parents to Sign Documents

As soon as he entered the house, he saw his mother tied up and unable to speak, his sister staring at the Weasley family members around her with resentment, and his father stood there blankly, having returned home without him knowing when.

At this time, a leisurely gentleman (probably the current head of the Weasley family and my father's brother) said to us gently:

"My wife is packing with Percy, you should go pack as well."

When they got to the room, Percy sat quietly on the bed while his aunt and a young lady were helping to pack.

"Is this all the luggage? It seems there is nothing to pack..."

"Almost everything is in this box. That's all."

Originally, Percy and I, Fred and George, Bill and Charlie shared a room, but when Charlie went to Hogwarts, in order to allow Percy and I to have separate rooms, the room arrangement was changed to Percy and Bill in one room, and Charlie and I in another.

However, with Charlie gone, Percy became increasingly silent, and we eventually reverted to our old arrangement.

"My stuff is in the drawer here—"

"It's already been put in. It's yours."

"That's it. Most of the things that are left in Bill and Charlie's rooms were taken to Hogwarts. We also took what can be used, so there is almost nothing left in their rooms."

"That empty room, there really is nothing left."

Soon, the twins also packed a small amount of clothes and returned to the room.

Fred and George grabbed Percy's left and right arms respectively and helped him to his feet.

"Percy, let's go. We don't need to stay here anymore."

"What about the things Ginny took away? Some of them Percy really liked."

I asked, and George replied in a low voice:

"Let's just leave them here."

"But Percy has always cherished those things..."

“I know, because of what’s happening now, I remember it so clearly.

When Bill went to Hogwarts to study and came back for his first summer vacation, for Percy, a child who loved to study, he organized the knowledge he had learned that year into an original magic book and gave it to him as a gift. At that time, Percy's eyes sparkled with surprise.

He used to look expectant and study hard with the book.

Later, Bill came back from Hogwarts again, and Percy was eagerly waiting for another new book."

"In that case, or..."

Fred continued in a gentle voice:

"Ronald, do you remember? That chess set was originally part of this family, but when we were able to play against you and tied, you wrote down the game records and put them in a pile there. Those are very important to you, right? You often recall them with joy. These things are very important to you, right? That's why Ginny wanted those things."

"Should I take them back?"

When asked this question, I realized that I didn't actually have a particularly strong desire to take those things back.

"Let them stay here?

Throw all those bad memories here.

Next, we want to create new and beautiful memories.

So, those old things are no longer important.”

"Yeah, Percy, what do you think?"

Fred asked gently.

Percy still looked a little confused, but he bowed his head slightly and nodded gently.

Then the ladies left the room.

When I was about to leave, Bilius asked:

"I want to see your sister's room, can I?"

So we walked to my sister's room together and opened the door.

"..."

He seemed unable to form words.

It is hard to imagine that in this shabby-looking house, there is a bedroom like a princess's room, with the bed, bedspread, pillowcases and cushion covers all made of fine fabrics.

The bookshelves were filled with books and various items, almost all of which had been snatched from us.

The closet is filled with cute clothes, and the dressing table is filled with combs, hair accessories, cute hand mirrors and other items. The whole room is like a girl’s dream place.

All this wouldn't be so bad if the family weren't so poor and the boys weren't treated so unfairly.

Bilius opened the wardrobe and drawers and shook his head in disbelief.

"My God..."

“Yes, oh my god, by the way, that shelf over there is filled with books and other collectibles that were taken from us, even though she never used or read them, and the things we just mentioned are right there.

That chess set was also something we played with Percy, but it was later taken away by Ginny, who didn't know how to play the game.

Initially, we taught her how to play and we used to play together, but she would get mad if we didn't move the pieces the way she wanted, and we had to play with her to keep her company, but that's boring, isn't it? Even so, we played with her for a while, but Percy and I liked to play seriously, which made her unhappy.

If we touched anything in her room she would make a scene and say it was her stuff even though she had taken it from us.

Her logic is 'what's mine is mine, and what's yours is mine too'.

The boys usually share everything until it's worn out.

As far as I can remember, I hardly ever got anything new.

Even the underwear was old.

The twins, since they always have to prepare two things at the same time, sometimes get new items.

Especially since they both always like the same things.

But now that I think about it, maybe this is also for my own good.

By the time things reach the twins, they are usually quite old.

If both of them keep clamoring for new things, their parents will get annoyed and buy them new ones.

This way the hand-me-downs I got were a little better, because the twins were strong, so when I bought bigger clothes, even Percy could wear them.

Come to think of it, it might be for Percy's own good... Percy hardly ever gets anything new.

His is even older than what I use.

That's why Bill would hand-make copies of textbooks or reference books specifically for Percy and give them to him as gifts.

Although he had been happily studying with those books, they were also taken away...

To be honest with the twins, we had very little respect for our parents, so we would often confront them, talk back at them, and say whatever we wanted to say, so there wasn't a lot of pressure built up in the house, but Percy was a good kid, so he probably suffered the most.

He always tried to mediate the conflicts between us, our parents and my sister, so he might get hurt more...

Even though I realized that Percy was not normal, I didn't take action earlier, which led to him becoming what he is now... I always went against my parents, which put Percy under more pressure... I feel that I could have done something earlier... Why did I let him become what he is now? "

"If I had known that things would turn out like this, maybe I should have been more patient..."

Thinking of Percy, who was at a loss in the almost empty room compared to Ginny's room which was full of things, I couldn't help but burst into tears.

I didn't make a sound, I just cried quietly.

Seeing me like this, Mr. Bilius squatted down, put his hands on my shoulders, and looked me straight in the eyes.

"Like the twins just said, leave all the bad memories here."

"From now on, start afresh in a new environment and create new and pleasant memories. We will fill Percy's heart with many pleasant things."

"But the same applies to you. Fill your heart with happy things, too."

"Okay?"

The moment I heard these words, I couldn't help but cry loudly like a baby. This was the first time I cried like this since I was a child.

Mr. Bilius picked me up while I was crying and took me downstairs.

When we got to the living room, I saw my uncles and aunts asking my parents to sign some documents, and he signaled that we could go outside first.

When I went out, the real Weasley family was already gathered outside.

The twins looked surprised when they saw me crying while being held by Mr. Bilius.

Soon, the uncle who was in the lead came out and signaled that everyone could set off. Then one by one they performed the Apparition and disappeared.

Tired from crying, I fell asleep peacefully in Mr. Bilius’ arms, and when I woke up, it was already the next day.
