HP: The Blood Prince of Hogwarts
Chapter 62 Peter is captured
Ron suppressed his fear and nausea and held onto Banban tightly, but his body was uncontrollably stiff.
Relying on his natural sense of danger, Peter suddenly bit Ron and ran away as they were returning to the castle.
Harry and his friends chased the rat all the way to the Shrieking Shack, where Ron finally caught the rat in the corner.
"Don't even think about running, you damn guy." Ron couldn't hold back any longer and burst out cursing.
Damn rat, he's been eating and sleeping with me for twelve years, and now he's biting me again!
I really hope he can die right here and now.
It was a full moon today, and Sirius and Lupin were both in the Shrieking Shack.
Long before Easter, Olga had told him about the feud between Sirius and Peter.
As compensation for rejecting his kindness.
The intrusion of several people surprised the two men for a moment, but when they saw the mouse in Ron's hand, their faces darkened at the same time.
"We finally meet, old friend." Sirius gritted his teeth and said the last three words.
Hermione subconsciously stood in front of Ron. This was the first time they met Harry's godfather. Although she knew that his viciousness was directed at Peter, Hermione was still worried that Ron would be accidentally injured by Sirius in a rage.
"Why don't you show up and reminisce? Let's talk about your great achievements." Lupin's tone was calm, but his expression was not much better than Sirius's.
Seeing that Peter was still pretending to be dead, Lupin took out his wand and tried to force him to reveal himself, but was hit by a spell and the wand flew out of his hand.
It's Snape.
Snape pointed his wand at Sirius angrily, "How dare you show up again, Mr. Black. It just so happens that we are here to settle the score today."
"No, he was wrongly accused!" Harry blurted out.
Snape looked Harry up and down, and was relieved to find that he was intact, without even noticing what he had just said.
Harry mistakenly thought Snape was going to cast a spell, and reflexively said "Expelliarmus".
Just as the spell was about to hit Snape, Olga appeared and blocked it.
She glanced at the crowded Shrieking Shack and frowned slightly.
"What are you doing? Are you having an internal conflict?"
Snape was still shocked that Harry dared to cast a spell on him, and his eyes flickered slightly when he heard Olga's question.
From what Olga said, it seemed that she was no stranger to Sirius.
"He wants to kill me!" Sirius replied.
Snape sneered: "A fugitive from Azkaban asked for his own death!"
"You snot-"
"Enough!" Olga stopped Sirius from blurting out the nickname.
"You actually helped him?!" Sirius couldn't believe it.
Olga didn't bother to pay attention to this childish guy and quickly explained the current situation to Snape.
When he heard Peter, Snape's expression darkened and he looked suddenly at Ron - the mouse in his hand.
It was not a pleasant feeling to be stared at by the old bat. Ron moved his feet imperceptibly, trying to let Hermione block him completely.
Olga had no patience. She raised her hand and swung out a black mist, which flew towards Ron at a high speed.
Ron reflexively let go, and the black mist wrapped the mouse and flew towards Olga.
The mouse struggled desperately in the air, but to no avail.
Sirius and Snape stared at the black mist. If looks could kill, Peter would have died a thousand times.
"Do you want to show up yourself, or should I do it?" Olga said calmly, as if she was just asking what to eat today.
The mouse paused in its struggle, finally realizing that it could not escape, and gradually transformed into a human form in the eyes of everyone.
Perhaps it was because he had been a mouse for twelve years, even after turning back into a human, Peter still habitually put his hands on his chest, hunched his body, and kept dodging his eyes, looking extremely uncomfortable.
"Hi, Miss Olga, it's an honor to meet you."
Peter knew very well that of all the people present, only Olga was most likely to spare his life, and at this moment he smiled at Olga in a flattering and fawning manner.
"What a surprise...Peter Pettigrew."
Snape frowned, and his voice, which usually sounded like a melodious cello, now sounded dry and hoarse.
Peter shuddered, secretly glanced at the black-haired man behind Olga, and explained with a strong desire to survive:
"Oh, long time no see, Snape. You know! Those things were not my intention at the beginning... I could only listen to them... I didn't want to bully you, it was all James and Sirius-"
"You dare to mention James?!" Sirius exploded, staring at Peter with bloodshot eyes.
"If it weren't for you...if you hadn't betrayed James and Lily, they wouldn't have died!"
Hearing the familiar name, Snape was slightly distracted. Lily...
Peter was a little excited: "I, I don't want to do that either! If it were any of you, you would make the same choice as me! The Dark Lord is too scary! He tortured me... forced me... I had no choice..."
"No! I won't be like you! You selfish, cowardly, weak betrayer! I would never betray James even if I died!"
Sirius growled, red at the corners of his eyes.
"It's you! You're the one who killed them all! My biggest mistake was that I shouldn't have temporarily replaced you as the secret-keeper of the Fidelius Charm! Then they wouldn't have died!"
"It's been twelve years... For twelve whole years, I have been repenting every day... And what about you?! The culprit is hiding and living happily!"
Ron couldn't help but whispered in agreement: "That's right, and you even stole my snacks!"
……
The room was silent for a moment, and Ron realized that what he thought was a quiet voice could actually be heard by everyone, and his face immediately turned red.
"Yes, I'm sorry! Please continue!"
His angry mood was interrupted, and Sirius felt neither up nor down.
Lupin patted Sirius on the shoulder and said:
"If the secret keeper at that time was replaced by anyone in the Order of the Phoenix, no one would choose to betray their partner who fought side by side with them. Peter, after so many years, you should pay the price for your actions."
Peter wanted to argue, but he knew Sirius well enough to know that no matter what he said, Sirius would never let him go.
He looked at Olga again for help and begged, "Your Highness, I really, really didn't mean it. Please believe me. Please ask them not to kill me—"
"Have you got some shame?" Harry couldn't help but yelled.
Peter then remembered Harry's existence. He quickly turned and walked towards Harry, but was blocked by Lupin.
He tried hard to hold back his tears, and looked at Harry with humility:
"Harry, you look so much like James. You know, I'm a good friend of your father... He would never watch me die... You look so much like your father, you wouldn't do that either, right?"
