God's Gift

Chapter 84 Flowers on the Windowsill

Yu Youyou didn't think there was anything wrong with what she did. She nodded seriously at Lu Keming, her voice clear and a little childish.

"correct."

Lu Keming's face darkened, and his voice was a little cold, "Get down here."

"Oh." Yu Youyou nodded happily, moved her body in the pipe, pointed her feet towards the vent, and stretched them down.

Her hands were grabbing the ventilation duct, and a white foot hung down, dangling in the air, and then kicked Lu Keming on the head.

Lu Keming was kicked back and closed his eyes speechlessly. He took a step back and stared at Yu Youyou's coal-dust-covered feet with cold eyes.

Yu Youyou's foot was still reaching for something. Lu Keming took a deep breath again and grabbed Yu Youyou's struggling feet.

Yu Youyou lowered her head, looked at Lu Keming, and asked him puzzledly: "What's wrong?"

Lu Keming sneered, pressed Yu Youyou's feet and dragged her down.

Yu Youyou's hand on the ventilation duct lost its balance and suddenly fell down. She widened her eyes, "Eh hey hey?!"

But she didn't fall to the ground.

Lu Keming hugged Yu Youyou around the waist and looked at the pitch-black coal dust on her face and body, with a somewhat speechless look on his face.

His hands were not strong, but were covered with a thin layer of muscle. His hands looked cold and white because they had not seen the light for many years, but he held Yu Youyou firmly.

Lu Keming put Yu Youyou to the ground, grabbed her collar and led her into the room.

Anthony came out of his fright and looked at Yu Youyou, who was covered in dust. He thought of the scene where Yu Youyou's head stuck out of the vent just now and swallowed.

It's also quite scary.

"Where did you see that woman?" Lu Keming asked Yu Youyou while holding her.

"It's in the room." Yu Youyou brushed the dust off her clothes and answered Lu Keming's question.

Lu Keming stopped and looked at Yu Youyou.

"She was in the closet. She said she was very cold and asked me if I could let her in." Yu Youyou chattered and told Lu Keming everything that had just happened.

"You let her in?" Lu Keming frowned and stared at Yu Youyou.

"No." Yu Youyou shook her head seriously.

Hearing this, Lu Keming turned around and continued walking forward.

Yu Youyou followed Lu Keming in small steps, telling him what had just happened.

"Then I threw a lot of paper at her and made a fire for her, thinking she wouldn't be cold, but she ran away through the pipe."

After listening for a while, Lu Keming felt that something was wrong.

"Where did you throw the paper?"

"On her." Lu Keming has long legs, and after a few steps he left Yu Youyou behind. Yu Youyou jogged a few steps and caught up with him, answering Lu Keming's question by the way.

After hearing Yu Youyou’s answer, Lu Keming fell silent.

"What's wrong?" Yu Youyou looked at Lu Keming, who was silent, in confusion.

"It's okay for her." Lu Keming glanced at Yu Youyou, "If it was someone else, their fate would be similar to the roasted bird you ate."

"Ah?" Yu Youyou opened her toothless mouth in surprise and stood there.

Lu Keming glanced at the stunned Yu Youyou and continued walking forward.

After he walked a long way away, Yu Youyou patted her head and said to herself, "But she is not a bird."

"What is that?" Yu Youyou tilted her head and asked herself in confusion.

"Grilled fish?"

It seems so.

Mom said humans can eat grilled fish.

Thinking of this, Yu Youyou shuddered twice, and inexplicably thought of herself being roasted on the fire.

She covered her mouth, looked around, took cautious steps, and followed Lu Keming into the bedroom.

Lu Keming was bending over to check the condition of the fireplace. Yu Youyou walked over quietly and sat on the bed without saying a word.

Quiet as a chicken.

Lu Keming stood up straight and turned to look at Yu Youyou, but found that Yu Youyou, who had been staring at him furtively, suddenly looked away, her eyes wandering around guiltily.

Lu Keming: ...

What did this do?

While he was looking at Yu Youyou, he noticed a shadow passing by outside the window out of the corner of his eye.

Lu Keming's gaze froze for a second, and the emotions in his eyes sank.

He stared at that place and walked over.

Yu Youyou watched Lu Keming walk towards the window and followed him curiously.

Lu Keming glanced at Yu Youyou who was following closely beside him, turned around and opened the curtains.

But the shadows outside had vanished without a trace, leaving only a cold wind that blew the rain sideways.

Raindrops fell one by one on the windowsill covered with green moss, condensed into small water droplets, and then gathered into a small lake.

On the moss, there was a handful of colorful flowers. There was some mud on the flower stems, which was gradually washed away by the raindrops.

Lu Keming looked at the flowers and his eyes darkened.

Yu Youyou squeezed her furry head out from between his arms, bent over and looked out the window curiously.

"Huh?" Yu Youyou looked at the flowers and made a puzzled sound.

Lu Keming stared at Yu Youyou's head calmly, with an unclear emotion in his deep eyes.

What would she say now?

Should I continue to pretend I don't know, or... lie to him?

"It was sent by the Wendigo!" While Lu Keming was thinking, Yu Youyou said something happily.

Lu Keming's gaze froze for a second, and a hint of disbelief flashed across his eyes, but he quickly suppressed it.

"Wendigo?" Lu Keming pretended to be surprised and asked Yu Youyou, but his eyes were full of scrutiny.

"Yes, it picked up my shoes yesterday. It's such a good mud monster!" Yu Youyou raised her head and looked at Lu Keming with her bright eyes.

Lu Keming lowered his eyes and stared at Yu Youyou without saying anything.

He didn't expect Yu Youyou to be so frank, which made all his guesses about Youyou come to nothing.

But if you didn't mean to keep it a secret, why didn't you tell him?

After a while, he spoke.

"Is that how you got to know it?"

"Yes." Yu Youyou nodded like a chick pecking at rice.

"Then why didn't you tell me before?" Lu Keming asked, twisting his fingers.

When Yu Youyou heard this, there was some confusion in her eyes, "You didn't ask me either."

Lu Keming turned around and said calmly, "We are a team now. We should share all the information you know. This will help us complete our mission."

"Didn't you say that if we were in the same team, we would definitely win?" Lu Keming said meaningfully.

"Yes." Yu Youyou nodded and said, "Don't worry, we will definitely win."

"You are so sure, do you know what Andy's wish is now?" Lu Keming stared at Yu Youyou with cold eyes.
