After a simple rebirth

Chapter 17 School Bus

I put on my school uniform, picked up the Chinese textbook that fell on the ground and put it into my schoolbag. There was only a pair of canvas shoes near my slippers, so I put them on and went downstairs.

Fu's mother saw her coming down, but didn't see Fu Zhe, so she asked her if Fu Zhe had gotten up. Fu Ying passed by and forgot to wake him up, so he was still sleeping.

Seeing Fu Ying shaking her head, Fu's mother started calling Fu Zhe at the stairs again. After several times, she finally heard a voice saying "Here he comes".

I put my schoolbag on the stool and checked the time. It was 6:30. What a sin! It's been a long time since I got up so early. I usually get up at : for work. If I work the night shift, I will sleep until almost o'clock!

Fu Ying was brushing her teeth at the door. Fu's mother came over and gave her a dollar. "This is your breakfast money today. Buy breakfast later. Don't waste money!"

"Okay," Fu Ying took the money.

When Fu Ying and Fu Zhe were in junior high school, they had one yuan for breakfast every day, which they only got on the day they went to school. In fact, one yuan was only enough for breakfast, and a bun cost fifty cents. The remaining fifty cents was usually used to buy snacks at the school canteen, or to save for other things. Most of Xiao Heitan's money was saved to contribute to the Internet cafe. Fu Ying didn't save any money, so she spent it almost immediately.

At that time, there was no concept of saving money, and we spent money whenever we had it. Our parents did not give us extra pocket money, and we did not get any rewards for doing well in the exams. At most, we would have 50 cents or 1 yuan left when we ran errands or bought something. If there was more left, my mother would take it back.

Thinking of this, Fu Ying remembered the 6.5 yuan she handed over in full yesterday after buying vegetables. Why didn't she think of keeping a little? What a mistake!!! After working for so long, I'm used to having some money on me, which makes it convenient to buy things. Now I'm back to my student days, unable to make money, and not giving a penny!

After Little Heitan finished brushing his teeth, the two of them carried their schoolbags and went to the school bus stop. The school bus usually arrived around seven o'clock, and they had to pick up other students. They usually arrived at school at 7:30, and after a while of morning reading, they would have the first class.

Passing by a market on the way, basically all the stalls selling breakfast at this time have set up. I looked at the prices of these breakfasts, Cantonese style braised rice rolls are 3 yuan, soup noodles are 5 yuan, fried dough sticks are 5 cents each, steamed buns are 5 cents each but not big, and fried rice noodles are 1.5 yuan. I was still hesitating which one to eat while walking, and saw a lot of people at the intersection. There was an uncle selling rice rolls in a foam box. Fu Ying still remembered him. His breakfast has been here for many years. The portion is large and affordable, and the sauce is also delicious. The point is that he has always sold this rice roll for one yuan, and it was not until several years later that it increased to 1.5 yuan. I often eat at his restaurant, and it is guaranteed to fill me up.

I squeezed the one dollar in my pocket. Maybe I should skip breakfast! I can't save any money. It must be very hard when I need money. Since I started working, no matter how difficult it is, Fu Ying has always supported herself and never asked her parents for money. Now that I don't have a piggy bank, I still have to save money. Anyway, I don't eat breakfast when I work, so I'll just bear it!

After turning the corner, I saw Fu Zhe eating a bun at the station from afar. The person he was talking to seemed to be Fu Peng, who had the same surname. There were two elementary school students wearing school uniforms next to them, probably in the third or fourth grade, but I had no idea what their names were.

Missing my cell phone, the wait was long and boring, I could only watch people in work clothes of various colors pass by, there were so many people of a few colors, Fu Ying could barely recognize which factory they were from. There were factories across the road, a group of people crossed the road, and a large army of bicycles scurried by.

I don't know how long it took, but a yellow school bus with "Juxing School" on the front came, and it said 5, and it flew past without stopping. Fu Ying was stunned for a moment, two school buses in this direction? After waiting for another ten minutes, a bus with 6 came and stopped. The teacher got off the bus, and all the students said hello to the teacher and got on the bus one by one.

The seats on the bus were not like the buses, with 4 seats in a row, two on each side. They were like park benches, with a row on each side, and they looked like they could seat 2-3 people. It seemed like there were no fixed seats on the school bus? Fu Ying watched Fu Zhe and Fu Peng sit directly in the last row, and after thinking about it, she sat in the first row. If she sat in the wrong row, she would wait for the teacher to call her.

I don’t know if it was because the seat was not fixed or if I was sitting in the right place, the bus continued to move forward and picked up students from three places. The bus was basically full, so it turned around and probably went back to school.
