In addition to the essential triangular rice dumplings, other things need to be prepared for the Dragon Boat Festival.

Each person was given two boiled eggs. There was no meaning behind them, they were just taken to eat.

Then there is the cooked garlic, which is the garlic clove used for cooking. Put the whole garlic in the pot and cook it with the eggs. If you like it, eat two, and if you don’t like it, eat one. The cooked garlic is delicious. It is not as spicy as raw garlic, and the taste is full of it. The cooked garlic is soft and sticky, a bit like yam.

Apart from the three fixed items: rice dumplings, eggs and cooked garlic, everything else is random. In the past, people who were particular about it would weave colorful ropes for their children to wear and hang mugwort at their doorsteps, but this is rare now.

The Dragon Boat Festival is more like a festival for the whole family to go out. The food is prepared at home and brought along. Some people even bring cooked potatoes and chili powder.

Fu Yu was afraid of being hungry, so she and Fu Ying made some purple rice balls. They had whatever they wanted to eat at home. Fu Ying asked Fu Yu to fry a poached egg, which she cut in half after frying and put one in each rice ball. Fu Yu's poached egg was delicious.

There were too many people at the dam and it was not convenient to stay there, so Fu Ergu took us to walk a little further inside where there were fewer people and we could pick wild strawberries, which are the five-leaf strawberries on the mountain near Xiaoye's home.

Around the Dragon Boat Festival, this kind of fruit is ripe. In fact, the most wild bubble trees are found in the mountains, but the mountains are far away and climbing is tiring, so a flat and comfortable place like a reservoir is most suitable for family outings.

Fu Ergu led us to a slightly remote place. There was no cement road anymore, and the tricycle was no longer suitable for pulling. The wheels would be covered in dirt and it would be easy for grass to roll in and get stuck.
