After a simple rebirth

Chapter 40 Banquet (2)

The children couldn't wait to start picking up their favorite meatballs and eating them, using spoons and chopsticks in whatever way was convenient for them. The more particular ones would even learn from the adults to dip them in the sauce.

I don’t put much chili in the dipping sauce for children because they can’t handle spicy food that well.

The convenience store was not far away, and Fu Zhe came back soon.

Fu Ying put the disposable cups in a row, and each child and lady had a cup of coconut milk, while the adults each had a bottle of beer to drink slowly. After distributing the drinks to each person, a few children finished their cups and waited for Fu Ying to pour them another cup.

Fu Ying barely found a seat to sit down, and she placed the drinks at her feet. When anyone wanted to have more, she would take their cups and fill them up directly. This way, she didn't have to get up repeatedly to pour drinks for others, and she could still eat slowly.

Fu Yu and Fu Ma didn't sit down at all. Firstly, there was basically no room left, and secondly, they were the hosts of the banquet. The men in the family ate and drank with the guests, while the women kept serving food and drinks, paying attention to the guests' needs.

Fu's parents often entertain friends and relatives like this, especially Fu's mother, who is very familiar with everyone and often invites friends who are a little familiar to her home for dinner. In fact, there is nothing delicious at home, the living environment is not good, and we are not very familiar with others, but many people still come.

In the past, Fu Ying would be very irritated and hate her parents for always being like this. She felt that Fu's mother made her family very tired, that they couldn't eat anything good, and that they spent a lot of money for no reason. Some people also treated her family as a scapegoat. But as she got older, she learned to respect her parents' choices. Anyway, when someone came, she was familiar with what to do as the host.

And it is undeniable that my parents have always had a lot of friends and know people of all kinds, which is something I have never been able to learn. Some colleagues and friends also said that Fu Ying is very outgoing, has strong social skills, and is very good at dealing with people. Fu Ying shook her head when she heard it. Her mother is really strong, and she has not even learned one-third of her mother's ability.

Mother Fu knew that Fu Ying and Fu Zhe had to work part-time, so while taking care of the guests she also kept asking them to eat quickly.

Fu Zhe is fine, but Fu Ying really can't just focus on eating all the time.

My table is full of kids, watching me while I eat. Although it's hot pot, the kids always like to eat meatballs more than anything else. This kid wants this, that kid wants that, I have to pick some for them, and from time to time I have to pay attention to those who only drink beverages and don't eat, and remind them to eat more after I pour them some.

The children were big-hearted and small-minded, and they drank a lot of drinks. Soon, several of them could not eat anymore and started playing in their seats. Those who could not sit still ran around among the adults. Naturally, the food on this table was less, so Fu Ying and Fu Zhe could eat a lot of their favorite food without having to worry too much.

Fu Ying hadn't eaten these meatballs for a long time. They were colorful and had all kinds of fillings. Judging from the health perspective of her previous life, this pot of meatballs was basically made of poor ingredients and had a lot of pigments, which was particularly unhealthy. But this was Fu Ying's favorite when she was in junior high school. What made it delicious was not necessarily the ingredients, but the dipping sauce, the family affection, the memories, and the rare happiness of not having eaten it for a long time.

After Fu Ying finished eating, she stood up and asked Fu Ma and Fu Yu to sit down to eat. They had been eating while standing with their bowls, and now they had a seat.

But Fu Yu and Fu's mother refused. Fu Yu was not convenient to sit down with her child on her back, so she just stood. Fu's mother didn't sit down because she had to serve more food and get other things for the guests, since they were almost done eating anyway.

Fu Ying collected the dishes and chopsticks from the children's table, but left the pot there. I don't know whether she will add them to the adults' table or keep them for their family's next meal. Let's see how Fu's mother handles it.

She and Fu Zhe were going to take part-time jobs, so the dishes had to be washed by Fu Yu and Fu Ma.
