Farewell Flower Festival

Chapter 87 Poisoning

After getting on the carriage, Chaoyan closed her eyes and dozed off. When the carriage stopped in front of the palace, she was already asleep.

When Liu'er and Dong'er saw that she didn't respond when they called her, they lifted the curtain and looked. They saw that Chaoyan had fallen asleep. Liu'er went up to wake her up. Shen Cheng came over at that moment and asked Dong'er what was going on who was left outside the carriage. Dong'er said that Chaoyan had fallen asleep.

Liu'er helped Chaoyan get off the carriage. Shen Cheng was waiting outside. Chaoyan grabbed his neck and jumped on his back. She patted him and shouted "go", as if she thought he was a horse.

Shen He asked Shen Cheng to carry Chao Yan back and told him to be careful on the road and not to let his sister fall.

Shen Cheng was also helpless, feeling that he was almost like being treated like a slave.

……

The next day, when Chaoyan woke up, she had a headache. Liu'er brought her a bowl of hangover soup, looking as if she wanted to say something but hesitated. Chaoyan asked her what happened. Liu'er and Dong'er looked at each other and said tactfully that she got drunk last night and fell asleep in the carriage.

Chao Yan thought about it and seemed to be really drunk.

When she came over for breakfast, Shen Cheng had a smirk on his face, as if she had done something stupid last night.

Chaoyan sat down to eat as if nothing had happened. Shen Cheng asked her if she remembered what happened last night. She asked herself what she did last night. Before Shen Cheng could open her mouth, she was stopped by Shen He's eyes and buried her head in eating the buns.

After breakfast, the servant came to report to Shen Cheng that someone was looking for him at the door. Shen Cheng came over and saw that it was the guard beside Mu Tianling. He said Chao Yan was not there. Qian Feng said, "Your Highness wants to invite the young prince to have tea. Please do me a favor."

Shen Cheng thought about it and went to the teahouse with Qian Feng.

Then someone came to Chaoyan again, and the servant asked about Feicui's identity, and then went to report. Chaoyan came over and saw that it was Feicui, thinking that something happened in the store, Feicui asked Chaoyan to go with her, and Chaoyan told the servant who was guarding the door that she would go to the store to take a look.

When Feicui brought Chaoyan to the street, a carriage was already waiting there, and Feiyu was driving the car.

Only then did Chaoyan realize that it was Mu Tianling's arrangement. After getting on the carriage, Feiyu drove the carriage towards the teahouse.

Here, Mu Tianling drank a cup of tea with Shen Cheng, and then said he had some official business to attend to, so he left first.

Shen Cheng was a little confused. He didn't know why Mu Tianling asked him to come out. It was inexplicable.

After coming out of the teahouse, Mu Tianling got on the carriage, and Feiyu drove away.

Shen Cheng just watched the carriage leave, unaware that he had fallen into a trap.

Since he was out now, Shen Cheng planned to stroll outside for a while, but it would be boring to stroll alone, so he thought of the Jinyu Garden that Shang Ye had mentioned to him before and decided to go there to take a look.

On the other side, Feiyu drove the carriage back to Prince Ling's Mansion.

Chaoyan lifted the curtain and jumped out of the carriage first, and left without waiting for Mu Tianling.

When they arrived at the small courtyard where they lived before, Chaoyan was sitting on the swing and swinging casually. Mu Tianling came over and said, "Why didn't you speak in the carriage just now?" Chaoyan said, "My throat hurts." Mu Tianling turned and left. Chaoyan was a little confused. He actually left her. Would she die if he said a few nice words to her?

After calming down for a while, she began to reflect on whether she was being a little unreasonable. After all, she was just sulking alone, so it would be better to just say what she wanted to say directly. It would be a bit hypocritical to let people guess.

Chaoyan got up and prepared to go find Mu Tianling to talk it over, then she saw him coming back with a cup of tea in his hand. She then realized that he had gone to pour her some tea, and she didn't mind it anymore.

"Your Highness, can you teach me archery?"

"I'd better teach you calligraphy first."

Chaoyan felt that her calligraphy was okay, but Mu Tianling's handwriting was indeed beautiful, so it wouldn't hurt for her to learn from him.

The study was filled with the faint scent of ink. In addition to the subtle rustling sound of the pen falling on the paper, Chaoyan could also hear her own quickened heartbeat. Mu Tianling leaned over, held her hand and taught her to write the word "Yan". Chaoyan's heartbeat quickened a little more. Then he taught her to write the word "Ling". Chaoyan's face turned red.

Mu Tianling lowered his head and called "Yanyan" softly in her ear. Chaoyan's face turned red so much that steam was almost coming out of her, and her ears were numb and tingling. She couldn't concentrate on practicing calligraphy at all.

"Your Highness, please go and rest. I will practice these two words first."

Chaoyan pretended to be calm. Mu Tianling pecked her rosy cheek lightly, then walked over and sat down beside her. He picked up the teacup, scraped it, and drank tea leisurely.

……

Before dinner, Feiyu drove Chaoyan back in a carriage.

After dinner, Shen Cheng had not returned yet.

Shen He asked Shen Ming to go out and look for him. Chao Yan saw that it was almost dark and felt uneasy, so he stood at the door waiting for someone.

Shen Ming came back not long after he left with two guards. Chao Yan hurried to greet him. Seeing that Shen Cheng was safe and sound, she felt relieved. She also saw Shen Ming carrying someone on his back, who looked like Han Lie.

Chaoyan asked what happened, and Shen Cheng anxiously said that Han Lie was poisoned and fainted, but they still tried to save him.

Shen Ming had asked two guards to call a doctor. After settling Han Lie, Shen He also rushed over, and then the two guards came back with the doctor.

When the doctor was treating Han Lie, Shen He asked Shen Cheng what was going on. Shen Cheng was so anxious that he couldn't speak clearly. Chao Yan poured him a cup of tea. After Shen Cheng drank it in one breath, he calmed down a little and told him what had happened.

It started from this morning when Mu Tianling asked him to meet at the teahouse, then he went to Jinyu Garden and accidentally got drunk.

When Shen Cheng said this, he didn't dare to look up, so Shen He asked him to continue.

He took a nap, and when he woke up, he found that it was getting dark, so he left immediately. Not long after he left the garden, he was attacked by a masked man. It was Han Lie who saved him, but Han Lie was hit by a hidden weapon by the masked man. The hidden weapon was poisonous, and Han Lie fainted after a short while.

After Shen Cheng finished speaking, Shen He asked the doctor about the situation. The doctor said that he had never seen this kind of poison and it was difficult to prescribe the right medicine.

Shen He asked the guards to find a few more doctors, and then asked Shen Ming to take Shen Cheng to the Han family to explain the situation.

Han Lie suddenly vomited blood. Chao Yan asked the doctor to think of a solution quickly. The doctor said that they could only try acupuncture first.

When Shen Ming and Shen Cheng came back, they brought another person, Han Luo.

The whole way, Shen Cheng kept his head down and didn't dare to look at the eldest son of the Han family. Although the other party did not blame him, those cold eyes were more powerful than a murderous knife. Being looked at by those eyes was as if even the soul was being tortured.

After coming over, Han Luo simply nodded to Shen He. Seeing that the doctor was about to give Han Lie an acupuncture, he spoke out to stop him, his voice as cold as water. When he came over, the doctor automatically stepped aside.

Those cold eyes glanced at Chao Yan who was sitting beside the bed.

Chaoyan felt inexplicably nervous, as if those eyes could see through all the secrets in her heart.

Seeing that Han Lie was holding Chao Yan's hand tightly, Shen Cheng didn't want to raise any objections at this time.
