Water and Fire Twins Magician

Chapter 9 Temporary safety

The two concubines who came to greet them were named Barbara and Parala. Like Lord Tutu, they were both natives of Marsala Ridge, exuding southern charm, with honey-skinned skin, good figures, and cool clothes.

When they saw Beruni returning with the child, they danced with joy, rushed to hug her with tears in their eyes, and took turns hugging Jacques in her arms.

"Wow... I'm so glad Jacques is okay. Auntie, please check if he's injured..."

"It's horrible! Who on earth did this? How could they harm such a cute baby?"

Lord Tutu stood far away, watching the ladies crying, and took a big sip of the wine in his hand. He looked a little cold and frivolous, but the look in his eyes when he looked at Beruni easily exposed his true feelings.

It was the butler with a mustache who whispered to the lord, "My Lord, do you remember that three months ago, a newborn baby was stolen from the blacksmith's house on West Street?"

The lord's mouth twitched and he nodded slightly.

"It caused quite a stir at the time, and later there were rumors that the child had to die... Lord, do you understand what I mean?"

The lord just raised his eyebrows and still said nothing.

Three months ago, something that had never happened in the past five years had shocked the entire town of Marsala: a baby with the attribute of fire was born in the blacksmith's house on West Street. Although it was only slightly fire-like, the superstitious residents of Marsala still believed it was a disaster from heaven.

A faint atmosphere of uneasiness permeated among the crowd, and terrible associations were gradually growing.

"Now, cry! Cry loudly!" Gandalf suddenly ordered. He had been gathering information and keeping an eye on the situation, and now he suddenly shouted in Jacques's head to prevent him from being surrounded by beauties and forgetting that he was in danger.

Gandalf asked him to close his eyes and pretend to sleep, and then concentrate on recalling the most painful thing in his past life in order to build up his mood.

This was not a difficult task for Jacques. In his previous life, before he was reborn, he was a dying man with severe burns all over his body. The scene of his relatives and friends crying in front of his window would appear in his mind as soon as he closed his eyes.

So, when Gandalf gave the order, the baby's crying shook the entire lord's manor, breaking everyone's associations and dispelling the uneasiness in everyone's hearts.

Barbara, Palara, and a group of concubines and maids who came upon hearing the noise were all busy trying to comfort the child who was crying in Beruni's arms.

Jacques's emotions burst out, and he couldn't even control himself. After all, the inhuman suffering he had endured in his previous life, now the past was brought up again, plus Gandalf's instigation, and the care and love of the beauties around him, made him want to use the love he had now to make up for the psychological trauma of his previous life, so he cried louder and louder.

Tutu remained unmoved, took another sip of wine, and said, "In any case, the child is innocent and should not be tortured. Let's wait until the Helen Festival in half a year before we talk about everything."

"But, my lord..." The butler wanted to say something.

Tutu stared at him and said, "The most important thing now is to protect everyone's safety. Even the young master could be kidnapped so easily, what crime should you, the butler, be punished for?"

As soon as these words came out, the butler was so frightened that his legs went limp and he almost knelt down: "Lord, please calm down! Lord, please forgive me! I..."

Tutu waved his hand, signaling him not to speak anymore, and then turned and left. The housekeeper only heard him mutter to himself:

"Hic... Which lady should I favor tonight? Is it... or... well, the new cook in the kitchen seems to have a nice figure, why not give it a try..."

Gandalf naturally listened to his words. Since he had ordered to protect Jacques and not to mention those superstitious things for at least half a year, Gandalf finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"Okay, you can stop now. The crisis is over for now, so take a good rest."

But Jacques' crying continued for a long time before it stopped, as if he wanted to pour out all the sorrows of his previous life so that he could accept a new life.

The people of Love Continent believe that the entire world is composed of four elements: wind, fire, earth, and water.

These four elements exist in every corner of the world, forming the internal and external circulation of all things in the world.

Because the elements between heaven and earth are unevenly distributed, so-called attributes are formed. For example, in a place with abundant water elements, almost all life that is bred will have water attributes.

Creatures with strong mental powers can use their own will to call upon or even manipulate the elements. This is the theoretical basis of "magic".

Lecturer: Gandalf.

After Jacques was reborn, all he could do every day besides eating and sleeping was listen to Gandalf imparting all kinds of knowledge about the world.

Fortunately, he liked playing games and reading fantasy novels in his previous life, so the elements and magic settings of this world were not difficult for him to understand.

"It's the same in any world! There is no such thing as a good life without paying!" Gandalf said confidently: "Want to enjoy life in Love Continent? Sure, become strong! Be strong enough that no one can bully you, and only you can bully others! Then you can walk sideways in Love Continent!"

Jacques deeply agreed with this admonition the first time he heard it, but it became a bit boring when he said it the second, third, and fourth time.

"Whether you want to be a melee fighter or a ranged magician, you must be familiar with the principles of magic. Since you have nothing to do, let's review the basic theoretical knowledge..."
