Chapter 202: The Fall of Nanhai Town
The person in charge of leading the soldiers to fight in Nanhai Town was General Hass of the Kingdom of Alterac.
Here is a brief introduction to this legendary general.
Has, a native of Alterac, always has a burning love for his motherland and nation in his heart. He regards the interests of the country and the nation as the supreme pursuit, and this firm belief is like a beacon, guiding his way forward.
Thanks to the Perenold family's insight and his own unremitting efforts, Hass gradually emerged step by step and finally successfully became one of the generals of Alterac. From that moment on, he made a solemn vow: he is willing to dedicate everything he has to his beloved king, even if it means his death!
Whenever the flames of war were raging and the smoke of gunpowder filled the air, Haas would always charge forward without hesitation. His brave and fearless figure was like a flag, inspiring every soldier behind him to move forward bravely. His roar resounded through the battlefield like thunder, inspiring the courage and strength hidden deep in everyone's heart. It was precisely because of this spirit of leading by example that Haas won the sincere respect of all the soldiers.
Time flies. Later, General Hass, in one fierce battle after another, made great achievements with his extraordinary military talent. Unknowingly, his temples were gray, but his weather-beaten face was more resolute and calm. The outstanding military exploits accumulated over the years made Hass deservedly sit on the throne of the commander-in-chief of the Alterac Kingdom Army. However, even though he was in a high position, his fiery heart never changed, and he still fought for the peace of his motherland...
Haas, a brave warrior from Alterac, not only possesses an indomitable will and excellent fighting skills, but is also an outstanding tactical master. His upright character has won the respect and praise of countless people, even Thoras Trollbane, the King of Stromgarde, who has fought with him many times, also praises him highly.
In Solas's memory, most of the soldiers in Alterac seemed stupid and incompetent, but Haas was the only notable exception. Whenever a border conflict broke out between the two countries, it was always Haas who led the army to stand up and successfully blocked his advance. Therefore, Haas became one of the opponents that Solas was most reluctant to face.
However, during the Second Orc War that shook the entire continent of Azeroth, something happened in the Kingdom of Alterac that shocked everyone - their king Perenolde actually broke his promise and chose to ally with the evil Horde.
Has was filled with disgust and aversion to this matter, but since he had already sworn allegiance to Perenolde, even though he was extremely reluctant, he had no choice but to carry out the king's order.
During that period, Hass had fallen into deep confusion and struggle. Sometimes, he even had an illusion that what Perenolde did might not be wrong, after all, doing so seemed to be able to gain a glimmer of hope for the people of Alterac, allowing them to survive this cruel war.
However, this thought only flashed through his mind and was soon dispelled by his deep sense of justice, because he knew that being with evil was not a long-term solution and would only bring more disasters and suffering to the country.
However, at first, Has did not fully realize this, as he only thought about how to protect the kingdom he was loyal to, even at the cost of everything.
Until one day, the wise and far-sighted King Solas found him and said to him earnestly: "Has, you must understand that preserving the entire human race is far more important than preserving any single kingdom. If we lose the glory of being human, then no matter how powerful we once were or how vast our territory was, it will become meaningless. Because only glory can make us truly great and let future generations remember our names forever."
These words flashed through Haas's mind like a bolt of lightning, instantly illuminating the confused corner of his heart. He began to reflect on his past behavior and thoughts, and finally realized that his previous vision was too narrow.
So, after a fierce inner struggle, Has made a difficult but extremely firm decision - between loyalty to the king and the pursuit of racial glory, he resolutely chose the latter.
That year, when Haas stood on the top of the towering mountain in Alterac, he shouted with all his strength: "Let us regain our glory!"
This roar echoed in the valley like thunder, and it lasted for a long time. It not only awakened the long-dormant Alterac soldiers' desire for glory, but also made them understand their mission and responsibility.
Later, although the Kingdom of Alterac had been destroyed for many years, Hass believed that as long as they could regain their own glory, they would be able to make the ancient spirit of Alterac shine again.
Under the gray sky, the coastline of Nanhai Town looked particularly quiet and solemn. The waves beat against the rocks, making bursts of roars, as if they were also wailing for the upcoming battle.
General Hass, the brave leader of the Kingdom of Alterac, wearing silver armor and with a resolute look in his eyes, stands on the high ground in front of the town. Behind him are the Alterac soldiers who are ready to go. They hold swords and shields and are determined to defend this land to the death.
In the distance, dust was flying, and the orc army was approaching like a black torrent with deafening war roars. They were burly, holding huge battle axes and sharp maces, and their eyes were burning with desire for victory and hatred for the enemy.
General Hass raised his sword high and shouted, "Fight for Alterac, for our home!" As his words fell, the soldiers responded to the passionate slogans, charged forward, and engaged in a fierce battle with the orcs.
At first, the Alterac soldiers relied on their sophisticated tactics and firm will to barely resist the fierce attack of the orcs. Swords and axes intertwined, shields and bodies collided, and the battlefield echoed with the harsh sound of metal hitting and the screams of the soldiers.
However, the orcs' numerical advantage gradually became apparent. They came like a tide, wave after wave, constantly consuming the physical strength and will of the Alterac soldiers.
As time went by, Alterac's defenses began to waver. The soldiers' faces were filled with fatigue and fear, casualties continued to increase, and blood stained the ground red.
