HP: Hogwarts, but pro-generation

Chapter 183 Do Something Really Useful

James carefully tied the letter to Dot's leg. After Dot's figure disappeared, he looked at Gary thoughtfully. The Hufflepuff remained silent, but his fidgeting hands showed that his master was not as calm as he appeared.

"Hey," James put his left hand into the messy hair and played with it, "Abbot, right? I know you're a little emotional right now, but listen to me--"

James was still struggling with how to communicate with the person in front of him at first, but when the words came to his lips, they came out naturally and became smoother and smoother: "-I know you are very anxious now-don't glare at me, I'm not saying anything sarcastic-I mean, why don't we do something really useful."

"Real—useful—things?" Gary repeated mechanically.

"Yes," James said, pulling a blank sheet of parchment and a half-broken quill from his trunk. He beckoned Gary to his side and wrote as he spoke. "The adults definitely, definitely, definitely won't let us get involved, or we wouldn't be stuck in the room. But, I mean, are we just going to sit there and wait?"

"what can we do?"

"Location." James wrote on the parchment. "First, we need to know their location. Secondly, we need a sound plan - God, I actually said sound - this is the key. If we need to sneak in, we must make sure we can consider all situations, otherwise the adults will go crazy."

Gary stared in amazement at the bespectacled Gryffindor in front of him, he knew that Gryffindors were known for their courage but he didn't expect them to be so bold.

James was still writing and drawing on the parchment. Gary could vaguely recognize a few familiar names, but Gary could not understand much of the content.

He watched James finish a huge painting blankly, then said "finished", then stood up and said he would take him to find Ender. Gary walked out of the room in a daze and stopped in front of a room with a small wooden sign "A.H" on the door. James didn't even knock on the door - he probably didn't want to knock - the door opened by itself.

"James," Ender said hoarsely, "I know what you're going to do, but I can't allow—"

"Ender? What are you talking about? Permission?"

"Yes, allow - or whatever the word is. Anyway, I can't let you fall into that kind of crisis."

Before Gary could react, the two Gryffindors suddenly started arguing. He stood aside awkwardly and tried to intervene to calm them down, but the quarrel between the hot-tempered Gryffindors was so fierce and sudden that it was not something that an ordinary person could easily intervene in.

"I thought we were friends, but family?!" James' voice gradually rose.

"That's why! I can't--"

"Come on, Andrick, do you think she's just your sister!"

Ender's anger rose, and his hand tightly grasped the edge of the door. "That's not the reason! You know how dangerous it would be--"

James rolled his eyes. "It's dangerous, of course it's damn dangerous, but should we back off? Are you going to let me wait at home alone? Don't think I don't know your plan. You are planning to fight alone!"

Ender sneered, but before he could say something even colder, Gary interrupted him. His instinct told him that he had to intervene.

"Okay, stop talking." The two angry Gryffindors stopped arguing and turned their eyes to Gary. Gary had never felt so oppressive from the enthusiastic Gryffindors. He kept yelling in his heart, "Say something, Gary, speak up."

"Uh, I mean, you're only in third grade—" Gary felt cold sweat on his back, "No, no, if you speak any louder, the adults will be here—Oh, my God, I mean why don't we eavesdrop on what the adults are planning?"

As soon as the words came out, the Gryffindors' eyes sparkled. Gary felt that his life was bleak. What did he do? Instigate Gryffindor? Oh, no. He wanted to save his sister, but he couldn't count on the two third-year kids in front of him! Gary Abbott, a fifth-year Hufflepuff, instigated two third-year Gryffindors. He was really good. Helga Hufflepuff would be mad at you if she knew about it.

"Oh, you do make sense," James calmed himself down, trying not to glance at Ender. He admired Gary more: "Eavesdropping - yes, what a wonderful plan -"

Ender snorted and gave James a look that said "hurry up!" Then the two of them sneaked downstairs, leaving Gary alone to fret.

Meanwhile, Grimmauld Place was not peaceful. Sirius was already agitated on the platform, and after Walburga took his wand, Sirius became even angrier. He kicked and punched and struggled desperately, cursing all the time, but Walburga remained unmoved. She admired her eldest son's actions and said condescendingly, "It is her honor to be favored by the Dark Lord."

Regulus was equally anxious, but even though Sirius had behaved like that he still hadn't gotten any useful information. Regulus knew that this was not something that could be solved by just losing his temper - after returning to the Black mansion, Sirius was immediately put in solitary confinement, and this time there was no "warrior" to save the "princess" trapped in the tower.

Regulus listened to Sirius banging and smashing things in the room from outside the door, and he came up with an idea -

"Sirius, Sirius--" Regulus shouted outside the door. Fortunately, the noise made by Sirius soon stopped and he heard Regulus' voice.

"What?" Sirius asked hoarsely.

"Go away." Regulus' words lingered in Sirius' mind like the smell of dung balls that would always linger in the air: "Go away, do what you want to do. I know you want to save Xia, but you can't do it yourself. Go find those Gryffindors, go find Hopes, they will find a way."

"Rail--" Sirius' tone was full of shock and a little choked.

"Shut up! Listen to me. I know this idea is ridiculous and hasty - I can't believe this is my plan - but you shouldn't be stuck in Black House. You are a Gryffindor, aren't you? You should be doing more Gryffindor things, doing something really useful -"

"how about you?"

"Me? You're worried about me? Oh, what are you thinking about, Sirius." Regulus chuckled, "I won't leave - I'm not saying I agree with their approach - but there has to be someone helping you in secret, right? Think about it, I'm a Slytherin, I have to do what a Slytherin should do, and I will tell you what I heard about the conversation between my mother and Bella."

"When did you call her mother? You always called her mom before." Sirius said softly.

"It started when she knelt down and kissed that man's robe, and when I knew she used the Cruciatus Curse on you. This is not something a Black should do. We have our own dignity and rules." Regulus said in a firm tone. He grew up under the influence of Walburga and the Black family. In his eyes, the Black family was above everything else. They should maintain the glory of the Black family instead of placing their hopes and glory on someone who kidnapped a student, even if the person who did that was his mother.

Sirius and Regulus were silent behind the door. Although they had their own pursuits and persistence, their thoughts were highly consistent at this moment. They could not let anything happen to the witch who made them feel the warmth of family. It was she who brought them a different life. They had already placed her in the most important position in their hearts.
