Marvel crosses Star Wars, and everyone attacks the galaxy

Chapter 108 Count Dooku's Ambition

Count Dooku meditates in his private chambers on his home planet of Serenno.

The Force had been unstable recently, and the second wave of fluctuations clearly heralded the arrival of more super-powered individuals from Earth. His master Sidious had been informing him of the Avengers and their actions, and now this not-too-small group had another member traveling through their planet.

This was too much trouble for the Count. He had been struggling for a while since the first group of people arrived, and finally attributed it to chance. But now? The second group of people had obviously arrived in the Milky Way. Who knew what special channels these people had that they had not discovered. The second group came, who could guarantee that there would not be a third and fourth group?

From what he had seen in the holographic videos to what his master had told him, every single person in this small organization was a force to be reckoned with and not to be taken lightly. Their direct or indirect involvement in several past galactic wars was enough to prove that.

Every time he sent out a person, it was as if there was a nemesis in their small group. He could forgive Ventress because she had not yet been trained, but what about Grievous and Durd who came later?

Both men were experienced, battle-hardened fighters, so their defeat by the Avengers in their first encounter was a testament to the group's extraordinary abilities.

The droid general has been training like crazy since his last defeat, and he recently killed two more Jedi.

Durd has taken the initiative to improve his combat power. The bounty hunter is filled with the same anger as Grievous, especially towards a certain Avenger.

From that point on, Sidious and Tyrannus were forced to speed up certain aspects of their overall grand plan in order to deal with the growing threat posed by the Avengers. Still, Sidious assured that everything would proceed as planned.

Sidious even believed that these Avengers might end up being useful to them in the long run.

Dooku wasn't sure at first, but his master said something that did lend credibility to such a claim.

At first glance it would seem impossible for the Avengers and the Jedi to come into conflict, as they have assisted the Jedi and the Republic on numerous occasions now. But Sidious can sense that it is only a matter of time before the Avengers come into conflict with the Jedi, even though they are now close allies of the Jedi.

However, he now had another mission to perform. Exhaling, Dooku opened his eyes, stood up from his seat, and left his room.

Walking down the corridor, Dooku reached his intended destination, the door to the room opening as he approached. He walked into a large empty room and stood on a raised platform.

Below, where the crimson blade spun, was his apprentice, Asajj Ventress, in training.

At this moment, she was attacking one of the soldiers while the other stood by, her blade colliding with the electrified staff specially made to resist lightsabers.

She maintained her advantage until the guard looked up, twirled his cane, and poked her in the stomach.

Falling to her knees, gasping for air, Ventress looked up, only to be struck hard in the face by the guard's weapon, sending her flying back and landing hard on the ground.

Ventress roared and stood up, throwing her hands forward. Just as she ignited her lightsaber, Dooku spoke up: "You must grow up quickly, my apprentice."

Ventress turned quickly and saw Count Dooku approaching. She knelt down and, as always, adhered to the etiquette between Sith master and apprentice and said, "Master."

Dooku said: "Your training is very effective, but I found some flaws in your actions. You must concentrate. When you can control your emotions, you will gain a stronger power, but at the same time you will have a greater weakness. You will become fragile and easy to predict, leading to faster failure. So, you need to find a balance between anger and concentration."

“Yes, my lord,” Ventress responded.

"We face many new enemies," Dooku said, "and these enemies are proving to be highly adaptable and far more powerful than we anticipated."

Ventress clenched her fists in frustration and anger when she heard this, she knew who her master was referring to.

"Put away your needless anger and save it for later," Dooku said patiently, "your initial loss to the Avengers was unacceptable, but it was unforeseeable. They caught everyone off guard, including the Avengers themselves. But the next time we face them, we will not be unprepared. They will know our strength by then. Including yours."

Ventress was once again motivated, yet conflicted.

Her master had high hopes for her skills and potential, and when she was found by Dooku, he talked about the power hidden in her body. But what puzzled her was how her master's master, Sidious, found out? She never figured it out, and never found the answer.

According to her master, all she can do now is train, day after day. Of course, she also carries out missions under Dooku's leadership, but she is getting impatient with not being able to obtain the "hidden power" that Count Dooku calls. Maybe there are ancient Sith holodrons or some archives that can solve her problem.

"Come, my apprentice, there is work to be done," Dooku said, motioning for her to stand up and follow.

The two left the training area and walked to the lower level of Dooku's private estate.

There are many combat robots around the estate, which are individually programmed to guard the Earl's home.

Eventually, they reached the crypt, a room Dooku had constructed over the past few years after becoming Darth Tyrannus, dedicated to the study and practice of the dark side of the Force. Here, Dooku further trained himself while his followers grew.

Entering the basement, Dooku and Ventress saw the sight of two knives clashing together.

The battle was between a Weequay and a human male, with the former clearly having the upper hand in this match.

The human male had tried to overwhelm his older and more experienced opponent with vicious aggression, but the Weequay had easily slapped the human aside.

When his opponent fell for a moment, giving the Weequay time to notice Dooku and Ventress, he called out to his sparring partner, "Skoll."

The young man named Skor had stood up and saw his master and companion. They both fell to their knees and Dooku walked towards them.

"Excellent as always, Master Sora," Dooku praised.

"Thank you for the compliment, Count." Sora Balk responded modestly, "Are you here to carry out a mission with us?"

"To some extent, yes," Dooku said flatly.

Thor Skorr is a tall, blond, scarred man who, like Sora, was once a member of the Jedi Order. Thor was rescued by Dooku on Korriban, the ancient birthplace of the Sith, and has been loyal to Count Dooku ever since.

However, in Dooku's eyes, it was a good deal to have Sora Bark on his side. As a former Jedi Master, he was known for being "one of the greatest lightsaber instructors the Jedi Order has ever seen", and he even helped Mace Windu perfect the art of Vampard swordplay - the seventh form of lightsaber combat. So Dooku was interested in Sora, as it would help in the final battle against Sidious!

Fighting his current master is a possibility faced by all Sith.

As the four Force users gathered in a circle, it was strange to see that at one point, all four people standing in this room were following the ancient ways of the Jedi.

"I came to talk to you about your recent discovery, Balk." Dooku crossed his arms and said expectantly, "You said you have someone here who is interested in me?"

Sora Bark nodded and turned on the video, which showed a holographic projection of an elderly man wearing traditional Jedi robes, with a cloth wrapped around his eyes.

Dooku recognized the man immediately, "Jedi Master Prosette Dibs?"

"Indeed." Sora nodded. "He ran afoul of Master Windu sometime after the war began, and was imprisoned in the lower levels of the Coruscant Temple. His skills and knowledge will serve our goals well."

Dooku thought about it, thinking back to the few times he had spoken with Master Dibs and his thoughts on the Jedi Order.

While Dibs was a staunch believer in the Jedi Code and duty, he was also very open to the idea that a Jedi's duty was to the Force, not politics. He would love to hear Dibs' story about how he went from being a respected Jedi Master to a prisoner in the Jedi Temple.

Dooku instructed Sora Bark and Tor Skorl, "Go to Coruscant and free Master Dibs from his prison. If he joins us, he may serve us well."

The two men bowed, turned around and left immediately.

Dooku looked at Ventress and asked, "Have you contacted the leader of the Death Watch?"

"Yes, Vizsla awaits a meeting between you and him. He wishes to meet with you in person to consider whether this alliance would benefit his people."

Dooku nodded, "You have done well, Ventress. Your next mission will further test your growth and resolve."

"I am ready, my Lord."
