"Almost there," Ahsoka muttered, reconnecting the stuck console.

After a few more moments, the monitor quickly lit up and showed Padawan a familiar clone.

"Medical Ship TB-73, this is Captain Clone Rex. Please respond.

"Rex, it's Ahsoka." Ahsoka breathed a sigh of relief. "I'm glad to hear your voice, kid."

“Likewise, sir.

Rex said, "I have a man here that wants to talk to you." Stepping aside, Rex made Anakin appear on the screen.

"Ahsoka, what's going on? Are you and the others okay?

"Well, not exactly," Ahsoka admitted immediately.

Barriss was walking down one of the ship's corridors with some of her companions before she separated from them, her eyes narrowed and slightly out of focus. She raised her head momentarily and heard something padding softly above her head.

Back at Ahsoka, she had informed Anakin of the situation, and her Master was now giving her instructions.

"Make sure your comms are open," he ordered. "I'm going to interrogate Bogle. He may have some answers. Find Barris and Peter and wait to hear from me."

Ahsoka exits, turns around and looks…

"Barris, you're back. Did you make it?

Barriss said nothing, just stared at Ahsoka in a rather unsettling way.

“Barris…what’s wrong?

"Ahsoka!"

Spider-Man suddenly rushed down from the vent.

"Leave--"

Barriss had raised his hand to the glass, shattering it with the Force, sending shards flying toward Ahsoka.

"Barriss!" Ahsoka yelled. "Please, we are your friends."

The controlled Barriss ignited her lightsaber and lunged at Ahsoka, who ignited her lightsaber just as quickly to avoid serious damage.

"Barriss! It's not you," Ahsoka said to her friend. "It's the gnat.

Ahsoka got no response, kicked Barriss away, and ran out of the communications center at the stern of the ship.

Barris got up and gave chase, blindly trying to kill the other Padawan. However, out of the corner of her eye, she caught Spider-Man about to jump in.

As Spider-Man prepared to make his move, the Mirialan Jedi did something that froze both him and Ahsoka.

The possessed Padawan gave the two a sinister smile while raising her azure knife to her own neck.

"Attack, and she dies," Barriss spoke in a hollow, lifeless voice that made both of her friends' blood boil.

Seeing his chance, the mind-controlled Barris unleashed a burst of power that sent them both falling to the ground in agony.

The Mirialan Jedi lunged at the stronger of the two. Opening her mouth, the worm emerged, her target's eyes widened as he began to struggle to break free.

“I’m sorry, Barris. You’re a nice girl, but I’d rather kiss you after the second date. Frenchies come in third, maybe fourth.

"Peter!" Ahsoka yelled.

"I'm sorry I used humor to hide my fear of worms!" Spider-Man yelled, pushing Barris away as gently as he could.

"Come on." Ahsoka helped him up. "We have to go!"

"But Barris..."

"You saw what those worms can do." Ahsoka said regretfully. "If we fight her, we risk the parasites killing her.

Spider-Man gritted his teeth in frustration, glanced back at Barris who had begun to stand up, and reluctantly ran out with Ahsoka.

Meanwhile, a Jedi Knight was speaking with a Geonosian physiology and mind control expert to help Padawan and the young hero.

Walking down the corridor of the ship, Anakin made his way towards the prison area.

He is not alone, Captain America is right beside him.

Upon arriving, Anakin dismissed the clones guarding the cell and walked inside, with Cap standing at the entrance.

"Will you answer my question?" Anakin asked hastily, raising his hand as if to signal the use of the Force. Captain America frowned at the gesture.

Poggle spoke in his native tongue, prompting the protocol droid in the cell to translate. "Your feeble Jedi mind tricks will not work on Geonosians. The other Jedi already know this.

Anakin lowered his arms and turned away. He clenched his fists and spoke calmly. "Mind tricks?" Suddenly, he punched Poggle in the face, causing him to fall to the floor of the cell. "I don't need mind tricks to make you talk."

Once again, the protocol droid translated Poggle's words. "I will never speak, Jade—"

The Geonosian quickly clenched his throat, trying to catch his breath, and Anakin began to force his neck. "We'll see what happens, Poggle."

"Anakin," Cap called out to him, causing the Jedi to turn toward the Avengers, and Cap shook his head.

After a moment, the Jedi put Poggle down, and Cap was now heading towards the Geonosians.

"Tell us what we want to know," Cap asked in a dangerously calm voice.

Poggle let out a series of clicks and coughs, which the protocol droid translated for him.

“If you think a show of force like this will get me to talk, then you are clearly more stupid than I thought.

Captain America sighed and glanced at Anakin. The Jedi Knight gave Poggle a stern look. Captain America silently motioned for Anakin to step back behind him.

Anakin stood behind Cap with his arms crossed as the super soldier grabbed his shield and held it tightly.

In an instant, Cap smashed the metal table between him and Poggle. The Geonosian Separatist barely had time to register the shocking display of strength as he was kicked into the wall.

As he fell, Poggle vibrated as his ears rang from the clang of vibranium hitting metal.

Captain America stared at him fiercely.

"We can do this two ways, Poggle," Cap said sternly. "Either you tell us what we want to know and help save those kids and the clones, or Anakin and I take turns beating you. Your choice.

Anakin was surprised by Captain America's sudden behavior. He didn't know that someone as controlled and calm as Captain America had such a side.

But now, he didn't care. He just wanted a way to save Padawan, Peter, and the clones. Finally, Bogle gave the answer.

Meanwhile, Spider-Man and Ahsoka escape from their possessed friends, with the clones joining the chase.

They had to resort to delaying tactics, forcibly knocking out or webbing the clones, with only Barris proving to be a thorn in their side.

"This way, Peter," Ahsoka called to him as Spider-Man trapped a clone in a cocoon.

After a moment, Barris and the clones came at him again, and the two rounded a corner and were in the next hallway. Spider-Man pulled a grenade from his belt and threw a web grenade, which formed a large web, blocking the pursuit of his pursuers. The clones all ran into the web, and Barris stepped back and lost sight of the two.

Anakin and Captain America returned to the Resolute's control room to reunite with the other Avengers and Jedi.

"I've made contact with Ahsoka," Anakin said loudly.

"What's going on with them?" Obi-Wan asked.

"Gionos's brain-eating worms have infested her crew."

"How did they get on board?" Kenobi asked with a hint of horror.

"Bogle said that after our raid on the Queen's temple, the parasite must need a new host. Captain America said grimly

Some of the other Jedi looked at each other, and Luminara expressed their common thoughts. "You both questioned Poggle?"

"Yes, we interrogated Poggle." Anakin said under pressure. "There was no time to find the rest of you."

Master Mundi asked their next question. "How did you get him to talk?

"Listen, what's important is that he told me how to stop the brain-eating monsters." Captain America changed the subject.

He and the other three Avengers exchanged a look. Black Widow, Falcon, and War Machine knew there was more to this, but they also knew there were more pressing matters at hand.

After establishing contact with Ahsoka's wrist communication frequency, they soon heard Ahsoka's voice. "It's Ahsoka."

"Ahsoka, listen to me," Anakin said firmly. "The worms are affected by the cold."

"Cold? How can we stop them?

"The coolant system is ruptured," he said, but there was no immediate response. "Did you hear that? The coolant system is ruptured!

"Coolant system. Got it.

The transmission is over.

Back on TB-73, Ahsoka and Spider-Man had to carefully maneuver around vents and corridors to find the cooling system. However, this proved to be quite difficult with the clones and Padawans being controlled by Geonosian parasites.

The two eventually reached their destination. Spider-Man stood guard as soon as he entered, while Ahsoka operated. After a while, pulling a switch, Ahsoka released the coolant system, and the ship began to rapidly cool down.

"What now?" Spider-Man asked.

"Now? Let's just hope this works." Ahsoka said confusedly. The temperature of the entire ship began to drop, and the possessed clones stopped moving, looking around in slight confusion.
