Marvel crosses Star Wars, and everyone attacks the galaxy
Chapter 254 Victory, the Origin of the Mysterious Robot
On the edge of the cliff, Hondo was about to fire again when he was nearly hit by fire from above. He looked up and saw Star-Lord flying straight at him, firing his Quad Blaster.
The pirate captain ducked into a tank to avoid the attack.
Quill approaches as Hondo jumps out of the tank and fires at him with his own blaster.
Star-Lord staggered out of the way and fired at the tank.
It hit the barrel of the cannon.
Landing on the tank, Star-Lord and Hondo engage in close combat, with the pirate discarding his blaster pistol and replacing it with an electrified staff.
He swung the staff several times, and Star-Lord dodged each blow, countering with a stab to the gut and an uppercut to the chin.
Before he could press his advantage, Hondo's little pet leapt out of the tank and landed right in Quill's face.
"Get off me!" Star-Lord said, throwing the creature down, and with a powerful kick of his leg, he sent the Kowaakia monkey-lizard flying. After gaining his freedom, the Guardian quickly dodged Hondo's next attack, leaping back and landing on solid ground.
"Your situation is hopeless, Quill," Hondo said, hovering over his tank.
Before Star-Lord can spring back into action, the Kovacs Monkey-Lizard returns with a vengeance.
Star-Lord pried the small monster off his face as he swung it around. "What the hell is wrong with you?!" he yelled before throwing it down and quickly shooting it dead.
"No!" Hondo cried in horror, his face turning into one of fierce anger. "Then why would you hurt such a lovely creature?"
"Cute? That thing is annoying, you know.
"...Okay, that would be true. Uh~ I'll find another one.
"Hopefully there will be better house training."
That being said, they started fighting each other again.
In the village, the Guardians and bounty hunters return to the electric fence and fight off the attackers.
Gamora punched the robot straight through the chest, and then she felt something whizzing past her from behind.
Looking back, she saw a Felucian retrieving his spear from the Weequay's body.
"Welcome back, Dilani. How are you?" Gamora said with a smile.
"Very good." Dilani said confidently.
Back at the cliffside, Star-Lord is using his Electro-Staff to move backwards from Hondo's rather erratic swings until the pirate swings through a wide, horizontal archway...
Star-Lord found the right opportunity, and the Weequay Pirate Lord was thrown over his head, sliding across the cliff and almost falling off the side. He quickly grabbed the edge of the cliff with a gasp.
As all this is going on, a few of Hondo's men discover what's going on up there.
"Captain!" one of them shouted. "Let's go!"
The remaining pirates quickly evacuated the farmland, either hoping to rescue their boss or to return to their ship...
Seeing the pirates flee, Cassis had a huge smile on his face. "We won!" he shouted, winning cheers from his fellow farmers.
Back on the cliff, Star-Lord watches Hondo dangling over the edge.
"Save me!" the pirate pleaded.
Star-Lord isn't convincing enough to help this man until...
“Quil…let me take my men with me.
However, Star-Lord aimed his quad blaster at the pirate when he heard something behind him.
He looked back and saw the tank's cannon pointed directly at him.
Without a second thought, Quill jumped off the cliff, using his boot thrusters to keep himself from crashing to the ground below.
He stood up and saw the others running towards him, all looking towards the top of the cliff where Hondo had climbed back up.
"In vain..." he yelled at the top of his lungs. "No longer... profitable!" He roared away and returned to his ship.
Once on board, the gangway closed as the spacecraft entered orbit.
They all watched as the ship flew away, eventually disappearing from sight.
After a while, the villagers began to cheer as they realized they had triumphed with the help of the Guardians and the remaining bounty hunters, who smiled with satisfaction at a job well done.
The next day, although the mood in the village was high, there was a sense of melancholy as several graves were made for the fallen.
There are multiple mounds of villagers as they bravely fight to defend their homes.
One wore the helmet of Serapis's mechanical body on a pole, while the other wore the cloak of Rumi Paramita.
The villagers pay tribute to the warriors who died defending their village and ensure that they are remembered as heroes rather than simply hired guns to protect their village.
Eventually, Cassis and most of the villagers stood at the edge of town, with the six surviving mercenaries standing before them.
"There are crops to harvest, fields to till, huts to rebuild. Now... let us rest so we can work in peace. As the villagers paid their way home and rested, Cassis turned to the other hired bounty hunters. "How can I ever thank you for saving our village?"
“We didn’t save your village, Kasis. Your people did,” Quill said with a smile.
"For the first time in my memory, my people are no longer afraid of pirates. We will never forget you.
"I certainly hope you don't," said Rocket, as he sat on the box of Sillim seeds they had earned for the job.
Standing right next to Rocket was Eun-bo, who was sitting on a pile of sillim that he and Suji would split for extra income. He was currently wearing several bandages to help with the injuries he had sustained the night before.
"I'm very interested in your team." Suji said not far from the Guardian. "Do you want to go to a bar somewhere to celebrate?"
"Now you're saying what I think," Rocket said encouragingly. "Now you can go get a drink."
"It's great to work with you guys." Gamora said seriously.
Embo said a few words, causing Star-Lord to hum.
"That doesn't sound like a bad idea." Quill admitted. "Maybe you could have Rocket fiddle with your hat in there. Make it more awesome."
HK: "Comment: I recommend you do this, the rewards are worth it." HK held up his rifle, demonstrating several features he had never used in combat.
The group began to leave the village and walk towards their ship.
"I admit, it's been a pleasure working with you," Suji said before helping Eunbo into her ship.
"We'll see you on Tatooine," Quill called out. "We'll have a drink then."
“We’ll look forward to it.”
- At an undisclosed location -
A small boat flew across the empty space, its destination being a brown-gray planet.
There are several spacecraft in orbit, and if you look closely, you can see that there are multiple "robots" working around the clock to make the spacecraft more powerful.
The small vessel passed the larger ship and made its way towards the planet's surface, heading towards a particularly ominous looking large factory.
Small droids and starfighters were flying around the factory, the droid flew right to the top of the factory, above a pillar that was emitting thick smoke. The ship hovered over the factory for a while until a landing pad appeared from the pillar.
It landed, and the column descended into the factory.
As it descended, it passed by multiple production lines, conveyors, cranes, and areas where robots of multiple sizes were being manufactured with the same overall aesthetic.
It eventually came to rest on a floor where multiple ships of similar design were stored. When the hatch opened, a damaged but still functional robot emerged and lifted off into the air.
The robot came to a door at the end of a long corridor.
The door opened and the robot entered a circular room.
In the center was a strange metal chair with multiple wires and pipes connected to it.
Seated on this throne is a tall metallic figure that exudes danger and power.
"I see you're back from your trip." The creature's voice was a strange mix of synthetic and organic. "How was it?"
The robot didn't respond verbally, instead it blinked its blue eyes rapidly and walked towards its master.
Reaching to the side, the creature grasped the robot's head and peered into the lifeless optics.
The robot's head then separated from the rest of its body and was raised slightly above the creature holding it.
It held its head for a moment, gathering the information it brought him.
He hummed loudly as he replayed the audio and video of the battles the robot had been involved in.
"Earth music?" he muttered.
As far as he knew, the only connection to Earth culture was the Avengers in Republic space. How did it come out?
"Talking raccoons? And humans?
He smiled sinisterly.
"Well, all right. These Guardians are an interesting new factor on the board. The creature threw its head back to the robot, which caught its severed head. "Fix yourself and get back to work."
Ultron leaned back in his chair and continued to monitor his work, knowing that soon...his time would come.
