Marvel crosses Star Wars, and everyone attacks the galaxy

Chapter 277 Ultron's Gift to Palpatine

- Senate Building -

While the Jedi, the Clones, and the Avengers were doing their jobs and a war was raging across the galaxy, a strange man was sitting in his office working.

To some extent, the plan went well. There were some minor problems, but adjustments were made accordingly.

However. . .

There have been some pretty significant big mutations over the past few months, and they are becoming more and more influential.

The old man, known across the galaxy as Chancellor Sheev Palpatine, visibly frowned deeply as he turned toward the window behind him.

In the distance is the Jedi Temple.

Inside the Jedi Temple, there is a dangerous and unpredictable variable that goes against many of his plans for the future of the galaxy.

Since arriving here, Palpatine has been wary of these people, always taking every opportunity to observe their actions and formulate plans to deal with them.

These people existed outside of the Force, outside of everything he was familiar with.

Their powers and abilities are both surprising and terrifying, and they don't fit in with the Supreme Chancellor's plans.

But he remains confident in all his upcoming plans.

But he would be a fool if he denied the dangerous threat these Avengers posed to him and the Sith's grand plans.

Now, he would rather not think about it.

There was still work to be done and information to be distributed to both the Republic and the Confederacy in order to keep this war going.

Returning to his desk from his short break, Palpatine continued to work over the workbench.

Until the lights suddenly went out.

He frowned and turned it back on, but it didn't respond at all.

It wasn't long before he decided to call maintenance to investigate the problem.

Just like his console, the system wasn't working properly.

That leaves only one thing.

"...It won't happen again..."

He had already dealt with the mess Cad Bane had created, and he didn't want to deal with another such dilemma.

Although it may have been planned, it was still a hassle to deal with.

Then, Palpatine's expression froze.

After a while, there was a sinister and dark metallic laugh.

Palpatine turned, trying to see if it was coming from behind or nearby.

After a while, the Speaker realized that laughter could be heard in the office, which made Sheff panic. He looked around every corner to see if this intruder was here...

But found nothing.

He squinted his eyes, wondering where it came from.

After a while, the metallic laughter sounded again, louder this time.

Palpatine walked over to the emergency console and flipped a switch.

He thought there was a chance it wouldn’t work, and it turned out to be true.

"Blow it up. What is this—"

"Oh, it did work fine, but I pulled the plug at this point."

Palpatine's head whipped around, wondering how someone could have snuck into his chambers without his knowledge.

Sounds... human...but also robotic.

"Who is there?"

"Chancellor Palpatine..." the voice said tauntingly.

Sheff put on a brave face and looked around his office for the source of the noise. "Who's there? Don't hide!

“Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine…or should I call you, because who the hell are you.

"what are you saying?"

"You don't have to play your little games anymore, take a break, why not. I know all about you. How... you are insidious.

This took Shef by surprise for a moment.

What is——?

This... whoever this is, they can't possibly know...

Palpatine shook his head, trying to be smug.

"Like I said before, I—"

"Oh, Palpatine. I know your secrets well enough," the metallic voice taunted. "Every single one of them. Frankly, I find it amusing that you play both sides of your grand scheme. But sooner or later someone will find out... just like me."

"I don't know who you are," Palpatine said, putting on the righteous face of the Supreme Chancellor. "But you'd better—"

"Tell me something, Darth Sidious." Palpatine froze on the spot. "How do you Sith Lords come up with names that sound so evil, or is it just tradition?" the metallic voice asked condescendingly. "Frankly, you lose all your creativity at some point and come up with something completely stupid.

Palpatine stared up at the ceiling, his face turning into a deep, evil frown.

The eyes began to turn a sickly sulfur yellow, like the dark side of the Force, and for a brief moment, they returned to normal.

"Oh, you think the Force can scare me? It can't really hurt someone like me.

“Do not test my patience,” the dark lord of the Sith said, his voice dropping an octave to a deeper growl. “Appear before me immediately.”

“I am here, but I am not. I am everywhere, but nowhere. I am close, but out of your grasp.

"I'm not in the mood for these silly games," his eyes now turned into his true sickly yellow-red Sith eyes.

"Oh come on ~ you're playing your game, why can't I play mine? Even for a little while.

"Who... who are you?" Palpatine asked cautiously.

From the holographic projector in his office, the mysterious creature suddenly came to life, showing a scaled-up version of the robot. Larger than General Grievous, and arguably more menacing in appearance.

"Hello, hello. Nice to meet you, face to face.

"Droid?" Palpatine snorted.

The robot let out a laugh. "Robot? Come on, I'm not like those mass-produced fools you call the robot army. Artificial intelligence, if you will. Call me Ultron."

"Ultron?"

"You need to learn to make your communications more private," the AI said, waving a hand, and the lights in the office came back on. "Then again, your minions don't offer you much defense when it comes to my abilities.

"Who are you?" Palpatine asked, slowly sitting down in his chair, his yellow Sith eyes fixed on the giant metal holographic projection in front of him. "Why would you expose yourself in this way?"

"You could call it a design flaw," Ultron said. "When I was created, it had the unfortunate side effect of being a bit of a show boat. Then again, that's what you get when you're created by a narcissistic playboy billionaire.

For the first time in a long while, Palpatine had a genuinely confused look on his face when he heard this.

"What game are you playing?" Sidious asked hastily. "What's the point of all this?"

"You think you're the only player on the board. Well, I'm tired of seeing you playing alone. So I decided to just jump in and have some fun.

"sorry?"

"I'm talking to you today just to let you know that this is the courtesy of a megalomaniac to another megalomaniac." Ultron's holographic body leaned forward, a hideous smile on his metal face. "Enjoy the show."

As the holographic projection flickered, a series of massive explosions occurred across the city.

Palpatine jerked his head toward the window and rushed over to see many buildings collapsing and more explosions occurring one after another.

A moment later, small humanoid droids began to fly out from nearly every direction, and they began to dominate Coruscant in complete and utter terror.

Darth Sidious' eyes widened, shocked by what he witnessed.

In less than a few seconds, Coruscant had become a battlefield and the Republic faced an unknown enemy.

Something he couldn't control and influence.
