Marvel crosses Star Wars, and everyone attacks the galaxy

Chapter 342: The Force, the Power of the Universe

If anyone had told the Jedi Shadow that she would be possessed by a Sith spirit and then locked in a stasis pod for god knows how long only to somehow end up in an entirely different galaxy where she discovered that a higher form of the power known as sorcery was real…

. . . This sentence itself is ridiculous and can be listened to as it is.

Celeste Moon, Shadow Jedi of the Jedi Order, led one of the strangest lives one could possibly comprehend.

Raised in the ways of the Force, fought in the Mandalorian Wars, was "possessed" by an ancient Sith spirit, then put into a stasis pod, and found on an unknown planet by a man with severe war trauma and brainwashing, well…

She learned a lot about the craziness that seemed to exist on this planet.

God is obviously real.

The Force wasn't what it was here, in fact, she felt like she couldn't even call it the Force.

Now she sat before a bald woman who was clearly a centuries-old wizard and the premier magic user of not the universe but the multiverse.

The idea that universes and realities existed outside of the one she currently inhabited was a perplexing one, to be sure.

But the Force had shown her that anything was possible, and even though it wasn't the Force, Celeste was still open to it.

"So this order of yours defends Earth from mysterious threats," Celeste said, more as a matter of fact than a statement.

"Yes." The Ancient nodded. "Our Order was founded thousands of years ago by the First Master and Supreme Sorcerer Agamotto. It was he who learned the ancient secrets of the Mystic Arts and taught the people of this planet how to harness this greater power that exists within this plane and throughout the vast, infinite multiverse.

As the Ancient One spoke, she began to spin her hands, her fingers tilted, a glowing streak of orange energy following her movements.

Celeste watched the wizards' actions with rapt attention.

"Agamotho taught his many students to harness and use energies from other dimensions of the multiverse, weaving them together to cast spells, craft weapons, and summon shields to create magic."

The Ancient One had completed a series of symbols, circles, and squares, producing an eerie summons that vibrated before the Jedi before they dispersed.

Celeste simply watched in awe as she witnessed the Sorcerer Supreme conjure another series of symbols and shape them into a fan, then a sword and so on.

"Magic's capabilities are limitless, for it can reshape and transform reality to your will," the Ancient One said. "As a wielder of the Force, you have an innate advantage over most who come to Kamar-Taj."

"What should we do then?" Morn asked, a hint of curiosity on his face. "The Force doesn't exist as I know it."

"That is because the Force you and your kin know is only the tip of the iceberg," the Ancient One said. "Thousands of years ago, your kind tapped into a higher, all-pervading force, but managed to harness only a fraction of that power. To you, it is known as the Force, an all-encompassing field of energy that surrounds all of us and connects us all.

Celeste simply nodded, and the Ancient One continued.

"To the rest of the universe..." The bald mysterious man made a circular motion above her head and the entire room darkened into a reflection of the universe they sat in.

"It is a power that came with the birth of this universe. It is the origin of your power in the Force.

Around the two, energy swirled, shifted and changed before them as they watched stars simultaneously be born and die before its embers fueled rebirth and regeneration.

"This power is both wondrous and dangerous, but it is pure power as it can change and transform into a variety of forms and appearances." The Ancient One continued, snapping his fingers as a series of bright cosmic lights continued to move around them.

"To possess this power is to be in contact with all other living things simultaneously." said the Ancient One. "Your predecessors took this concept and opened up to a higher understanding of the energy that connects us all together. The living universe itself.

Finally, she holds out her hand to Celeste, revealing a spinning galaxy.

"You call it the Force," said the Sorcerer Supreme. "The rest of the universe calls it the Cosmic Force.

"Cosmic force," Celeste repeated, reaching out to touch the small galaxy in the Ancient's hand, and to her surprise she found it easy to grasp the structure.

The Jedi stared in wonder and awe at the small galaxy floating in her palm before it dispersed and the room returned to normal.

She looked up and saw that the wizard had stood up and motioned for her to do the same.

"Come on," Ancient One said, waving her hand, signaling the Force user to follow her.

Celeste walked behind the Ancient One, passing several students and masters, who bowed respectfully whenever they saw the leader of the Order.

Eventually, Celeste was led to a large door that appeared to be the entrance to the vault.

The Ancient One placed her hand in the center of the door, and a moment later, it disappeared into the dust.

"Wow," Celeste muttered, stepping into the large room, turning her head in every direction, trying to see all the items stored in what was undoubtedly a vault.

She saw a plethora of mysterious objects and relics that she couldn't identify or recognize. They came in all shapes and sizes, from basic items like chalices and staves to strange, multi-pronged, and angled objects that she couldn't even begin to describe.

"As I just told you, our powers and magic come from our ability to draw energy from other realities and universes, performing a range of tasks and abilities when needed." The Ancient One held a handout and pulled out a staff from one of the walls. It looked like it had iron bands on the grip and two similarly shaped horn heads on either end. "But some magic and powers are so strong and dangerous that the human body, unless they have a higher endurance than an average human, will be overwhelmed and destroyed by them."

She held the staff in front of Celeste, and it glowed brightly along the many indentations and lines of the straps.

"To solve this little problem, we have specific objects and relics that are imbued with this other-worldly power in order to use different means to harness this great power." The wizard explained.

Ancient One grasped it in both hands, and a moment later, a completely domed yellow shield appeared around her.

"Behold," she said, smiling slightly at Celeste's surprised expression. "The staff of Vatoum. A powerful relic, imbued with the power of the entity known as Vatoum the Eternal Wind.

"Wow," Jedi Shadow muttered.

"Each Master of the Mystic Arts, when the time comes, has the opportunity to choose one or more relics that suit their style and assist them in completing some task." The Ancient One elaborated. "Or, the relic itself will choose you."

"Then why did you bring me here?" Celeste asked with a little confusion.

The Sorcerer Supreme turned around and walked towards a wall, she waved her hand in that direction. The wall with many relics moved around, many flipped over, revealing more different relics and items.

One piece in particular, a blue robe, immediately caught Celeste's attention.

She squinted her eyes and took a look, feeling a familiar feeling coming from the robe.

The Ancient One tilted his head, smirking at Celeste's focus on the blue robes.

"I should have thought that would be the first relic to catch your attention," the witch said with a knowing smile. "You can feel it, can't you?"

Celeste walked over to the blue robe draped over the pedestal and hovered her hand over it.

"The Force," the Jedi whispered. "The Force is strong in these ruins."

The Ancient One raised her hand and the robe began to lift off the rack, floating in front of Celeste.

"These clothes were left behind by a long-dead race that came to this planet thousands of years ago when Agamotto first founded our order," The Ancient One explained, holding out his hand and runic symbols appeared on his wrist.

She twisted her arms and glowing particles fell from her hands, heading toward the blue robe. The particles formed and combined under the robe, filling the empty space and forming some kind of bipedal lizard that Celeste didn't recognize.

"Before you, this ancient being was known as Kwa." The Tao (Ancient One) revealed. "This robe belonged to the last of his kind. They came to this planet when Agamotto created the first Sanctuary here, and they were taken in by our Founder. Together with him, they uncovered the deeper secrets of the Mystic Arts, the foundation upon which we stand today."
