Rebirth: What to do if you fall into a wolf's den
Chapter 12 Surrounded by Wolves
Looking at Ji Yan, who was slumped on the table without support, Fu Jingyan smiled with satisfaction.
Then he picked up the wine glass beside him and drank while chanting the woman's name, "Ji Yan... Yan Yan..." It sounded quite nice. The woman's name was just like the woman herself, delicate and soft.
Just like that, Ji Yan experienced a nightmare-like night. Until the moment before she fainted, Ji Yan saw someone slowly walking towards her, and her tears could only helplessly roll down her cheeks onto the bed sheets.
……
The first ray of sunlight in the morning, like a golden sword, gently pierced the silence of the night. It sprinkled on the big black bed, rendering everything on the bed vaguely visible.
On the bed, a slim woman was curled up, her long black hair casually scattered on the pillow, adding a bit of softness to her delicate and pale face. Her eyes were closed, as if she was sleeping, but her brows were slightly furrowed, as if she was enduring some unspeakable pain.
Suddenly, a faint and rapid breathing sound broke the quiet morning. The woman's eyes slowly opened, her vision was a little blurry, as if she had just woken up from a nightmare. She tried to sit up, but her body seemed to be tightly bound by an invisible force and could not move. She could only lie there, supporting her head with her hands, trying hard to recall what happened last night.
"Ah!" A strong tearing sensation came, and the woman couldn't help but let out a cry of pain. She looked down and saw that her body was covered with red, swollen and purple marks, which intertwined together to form a frightening picture.
A strong sense of shame surged in her heart, and she covered her mouth tightly with her hands, trying to stop those unbearable memories from coming back again.
"No...this isn't real...this must be a dream..." Her voice was trembling and weak, as if it would disappear into the air at any time.
However, no matter how she denied it, those traces were so real. They were like sharp knives, piercing deeply into her heart, making her unable to extricate herself.
"Go home... I want to go home..." Her voice was low and trembling, like a sigh blown away by the wind. Suddenly, she stopped and her body trembled involuntarily. She raised her head abruptly and lifted the quilt. The traces left on it were like a sharp knife, deeply engraved in her heart.
Her body seemed to be drained of all its strength, and she could only lean against the wall helplessly, letting her weight slowly slide down. She felt a strong dizziness, as if the whole world was spinning. Her mind kept replaying the faces of those men, their words, and those unbearable scenes.
"No... this is not true... this must not be true..." She kept mumbling, trying to escape reality by self-deception. However, the physical pain and mental trauma were like two sharp knives, ruthlessly piercing her fantasy.
Her fingers unconsciously scratched the bed sheet, leaving traces of varying depths. Her eyes wandered in the darkness, as if looking for a ray of hope. However, there was nothing in the room except coldness and silence.
A strong urge surged in her heart. She wanted to leave here, she wanted to go back to a safe and warm place. She struggled to stand up, her body shaky due to extreme fatigue. She held on to the wall and moved step by step towards the door.
When she opened the door, a breath of fresh air hit her face, making her feel a little sober. She walked out of the room and came to the corridor outside. The lights in the corridor were brighter than in the room, but to her, it was still like being in a huge shadow.
Her heartbeat quickened, and every step seemed extremely difficult. The men's words kept echoing in her mind, like sharp blades, cutting her nerves.
"You are mine...you can't escape..."
"You are mine...my..."
She covered her ears tightly with her hands, trying to block the sounds from invading. She quickened her pace, wanting to leave this place full of fear and pain as soon as possible.
She walked through room after room until she reached the elevator. She pressed the elevator button and waited for the elevator to arrive. The elevator door slowly opened, and she quickly walked in and pressed the floor button.
The elevator began to slowly descend, and Ji Yan's heart was filled with tension and anticipation. She didn't know what she was about to face, but she knew that she had to be strong and she had to find her way home.
The elevator door opened and Ji Yan walked out. She found herself in a spacious lobby, where the lights were much brighter than in the elevator. She looked around and found herself still in the dark night.
A complex emotion surged in her heart.
