Hogwarts lazy snake

Chapter 76: Turmoil on all sides

In the Department of Mysteries of the Ministry of Magic, the dim hall seemed to be shrouded in a mysterious haze.

A faint magical light flickered on the wall, swaying like a will-o'-the-wisp, reflecting the serious and solemn faces of the silent people.

It was a huge round room, and everything, including the ceiling and floor, was black.

Twelve identical black doors without marks or handles were set at some distance from each other in the black walls around them. The walls were dotted with candles with blue flames. The cold, flickering candlelight was reflected on the polished marble floor, making the floor look like a pool of black water.

When the door to the circular room was closed, the circular wall would rotate rapidly, making it difficult to tell which door one came in from. They gathered together, arguing one after another, breaking the originally dead silence.

"How could those guardians be so negligent in their duties! Letting the 'Old' escape is simply an unforgivable mistake!"

A tall silent man was so angry that his face turned red, his eyes were wide open, and veins bulged on his forehead.

The candle flame beside him swayed slightly with his movements, casting a swaying shadow, which twisted on the ground like a demon with bared fangs and claws.

"Humph, those of us who were watching together didn't send back any news. The only way I knew about this was through the guardian." Another silent man retorted, with a hint of protection in his tone.

He frowned slightly, a hint of worry in his eyes, his hands folded in front of his chest, his body leaning forward slightly.

"What should we do now? The 'old' has come out, and we don't know which one it is. If there is even a slight mistake, the entire wizarding world, or even the entire world, will be plunged into disaster!"

Someone said worriedly. His voice was trembling, and his hands were clenched tightly together, his knuckles turned white.

The air in the hall seemed to freeze, making people feel depressed. The chandelier hanging from the ceiling emitted a dim light, illuminating everyone's anxious faces.

"We must find it as soon as possible and reseal it! At the same time, notify the Aurors to increase patrols and notify us immediately if they find any mysterious or strange incidents!"

Everyone nodded in agreement, but the arguing did not stop. The voices of insult and defense intertwined together, filling the entire Department of Mysteries with an uneasy atmosphere.

While they were arguing, from time to time, silent people would open the mysterious black doors and come out.

Some hurriedly joined the discussion, looking anxious and excited, waving their arms to express their views; some stood quietly by and listened, with focused and solemn eyes, nodding or shaking their heads from time to time; others asked about the situation in a low voice, their faces full of confusion and anxiety.

At the same time, in a dead corner in Knockturn Alley, it was dark and damp, with moss growing on the walls, emitting a smell of decay.

The narrow alley was swallowed by darkness, with only the occasional flicker of magic light providing a faint light. Two mysterious wizards in cloaks were talking in low voices.

"'It' is out, the news must be delivered as soon as possible." A wizard's voice was low and urgent.

His hood covered most of his face, revealing only a pair of sharp eyes that flickered mysteriously in the darkness. As he spoke, he looked around nervously, his body trembling slightly.

The cobblestone road beneath his feet was wet, as if it had just experienced a drizzle, and the air was filled with a damp smell.

"The werewolf who entered Hogwarts was infected by 'it' and had a battle with Dumbledore," another wizard continued.

There was a hint of nervousness in his voice, and his wand was tightly gripped in his hand, as if he was ready to deal with any possible danger at any time.

There was a hint of fear in his eyes, and his lips trembled slightly. The wall behind him was covered with vines, which were like twisting tentacles, giving people an uneasy feeling.

"We must quickly notify other guardians and have them search around the world for the reason why 'it' escaped and its whereabouts."

The two looked at each other, then quickly disappeared into the darkness and began an emergency operation.

Their figures were like ghosts, instantly blending into the darkness, leaving only a faint trace of magic fluctuations. The magic fluctuations were like ripples on the water, gradually dissipating into the air.

On the other side, Nicolas Flamel left his residence and came to a cabin in a forest.

There was a thin layer of mist in the forest. The trees were tall and dense, and their branches and leaves were intertwined, forming a green sky.

Birds were singing happily in the branches, but Flamel had no intention of appreciating the beautiful scenery.

He walked quickly towards the hut, his heart full of worry. Crystal dewdrops hung on the leaves, shining with colorful light under the sunlight. The ground was covered with fallen leaves and dead branches, making a rustling sound when stepped on.

From outside the cabin, one could hear heated discussions going on inside.

But when Flamel opened the door, the sound in the room suddenly seemed to be paused. Everyone's eyes were cast towards Flamel, their eyes full of surprise and expectation.

There are various magical items in the house, shining with mysterious light.

There was an old magic map hanging on the wall, showing every corner of the magic world, some places were even marked with red fonts. The table was full of books and scrolls, exuding an old atmosphere.

The fire was burning in the corner, bringing a touch of warmth to the whole house.

Flamel's face was serious, and he spoke slowly: "What happened? Didn't I repair it? That's how the 'Old' escaped. And it ran to Hohenwartz."

"Not that place. I came from there today. Everything is fine there. Now I can only look elsewhere."

"What should we do?" a young wizard asked, his eyes full of anxiety. He took a step forward, clasped his hands tightly together, and looked at Flamel expectantly.

Flamel pondered for a moment and said, "Some people are responsible for collecting clues about the appearance of the 'Old', while others are prepared to deal with possible dangers. We must find the 'Old' as soon as possible and seal it again."

"I will go to Hogwarts and ask Albus about the werewolf." At this point, Flamel looked at everyone and said, "Hurry up and act."

"But the 'Old' is so powerful, can we really do it?" Another wizard said worriedly. He lowered his head slightly, frowned, and fiddled with his wand nervously with both hands.

"Guardians have no choice. For the sake of the world's stability, and more importantly, for your ancestors' blood not to be shed in vain, no matter what the situation, we must go all out."

Flamel said firmly. The whole cabin was filled with a tense atmosphere, and everyone knew that a tough battle was about to begin.

Everyone saluted and nodded to show that they were willing to follow Flamel's command.
