In American comics, drawing cards reveals wave-particle duality

Chapter 100 Parents' Mystery...Who is Connors?

(I'll take a day off tomorrow)

When Peter returned home, Aunt May was preparing the ingredients. When she heard Peter come in, she spoke while cutting the meatballs.

"You back, Peter? I'm going to cook spaghetti with meatballs..."

"No way? Spaghetti with meatballs?"

"You don't like meat...Oh my god, what happened to your face?"

Aunt May turned her head and found the bloodstains on Peter's face, and asked anxiously.

"It's okay, I just fell down while skateboarding..."

As Peter was speaking, Uncle Ben from the inner room came out with a box of things.

"Hey, Ben... don't even think about putting that cardboard in my kitchen!"

"This is my bowling trophy, oh Peter, what's wrong with you?"

At this time, Uncle Ben naturally noticed the wound on Peter's face.

"He fell down... I don't understand why you like playing those things."

"Because it's exciting and dangerous. Remember we had that excitement before?"

Uncle Ben glanced at Peter, who was evasive, and knew that the matter was not simple, so he tried to make amends for Peter.

"do not remember……"

Aunt Mei is stubborn.

“That does happen.”

"Where is the water wet?"

Peter asked curiously when he saw a large puddle of water on the ground.

"Let me show you... There won't be so much water on the condenser chassis and heat exchange pipes. There must be something wrong with the delivery pipe. This is the only reasonable explanation."

Uncle Ben took Peter up to the attic, came to a refrigerator, and analyzed it with him.

"Can you fix it?"

"Not tonight, I'll go buy the parts tomorrow."

"Now, put it on your face."

Uncle Ben pulled an ice pack out of the freezer and tossed it to Parker.

"How's the opponent doing?"

Peter was a little confused by Uncle Ben's question...How did he know he had been in a fight?

"Come on, I can tell it's a right cross at first glance... Should I go talk to the other person's father?"

Uncle Ben patted Peter on the shoulder and spoke earnestly.

"Need not."

Putting ice on his face, Peter refused.

The school bully is not on the same level as him, so this will only make things worse...and if Gwen finds out, this way of contacting the parents will obviously be more embarrassing.

"Well, it's better not to tell Aunt Mei. She can be scary when she's angry... By the way, come up and see if there's anything worth keeping."

Following Uncle Ben's words, Peter walked to the desk which was covered with a thick layer of dust, and looked through some old things in the desk drawer with reminiscence.

These things have always been one of the few connections between him and his parents, but since he grew up, he rarely came to the attic to see them.

As he was groping, suddenly, his hand touched a strange object - a gray briefcase.

It was buried under some old books and miscellaneous items, and seemed to have been forgotten for a long time.

After seeing the logo on the briefcase that belonged to his father, a memory flashed back in Parker's eyes.

That was when he was a child. They were traveling on a rainy day. He was sitting in the car with his parents. His father was driving and his mother was sitting in the passenger seat, holding the same briefcase in her hand.

Is there any secret?

He slowly unzipped the briefcase. The smell was a little old, with a hint of vintage history.

Peter opened the bag, which contained several yellowed documents and some old photos. His heartbeat began to speed up, and a thought flashed through his mind -

This is definitely my father’s relic, but why haven’t I seen it?

So Peter went downstairs with his briefcase and came to Aunt May and Uncle Ben.

When Aunt Mei and Uncle Ben saw the familiar briefcase, they looked at each other in surprise, and then Uncle Ben said:

"I had almost forgotten that the thing belonged to your father... He was the one who asked us to keep it well. Now, it's time for it to be in your hands."

At this time, Aunt Mei's eyes revealed a hint of nostalgia.

"This briefcase was something your father saw in the window of a leather shop on Ninth Avenue... when he was only 19 years old."

“Who do you think sold it to him?”

"I do not know."

Peter shook his head. He really knew very little about his parents.

“That’s how they met…Have you seen what’s inside?

"There doesn't seem to be anything important inside..."

"Well, Peter, you can take it back to your room first, maybe you can find something."

"But here's a group photo. Do you know who the person next to him is?"

Uncle Ben took the photo and immediately recognized that it was Dr. Connors who was currently working at the Osborn Group, but... after thinking it over again and again, he still didn't say it out loud.

"Your father acts in secret, so he must be a colleague of your father's."

"Okay, I'll check it out."

So, with a desire to explore the unknown, Peter immediately returned to the room and locked the door.

The things Peter sorted out from his briefcase included a pair of glasses, some pencils, a work ID and a pair of glasses.

These are the glasses my father always wore.

Seeing this, Peter took off his contact lenses and put on his father's glasses... He found that the degree of their vision was almost the same.

Peter continued his search.

Suddenly, he saw a secret compartment inside the briefcase. Through a special zipper, Peter opened it and found a large stack of documents inside.

The content of the document was a research report on genetic recombination technology, filled with complex scientific terms that Peter could not fully understand.

But a familiar name came into view - Richard Parker.

Peter's eyes widened slightly, and he felt like he was one step closer to the truth behind his parents' disappearance, so he continued to look through the documents.

Just below the last page of the document, he saw a sketch filled with equations, with a few lines of scribbled notes next to it and a specially marked red title.

"00 Decay Rate Algorithm"

Peter raised his eyebrows when he saw this unfamiliar formula, and immediately grabbed the file and walked to the computer to search for the relevant words above.

However, no matter how he searched, those keywords seemed to have fallen into the sea, and no entries were displayed.

Just when Peter was feeling discouraged, there was a knock on his door.

"May I come inside?"

It was Uncle Ben’s voice.

Peter walked forward and opened the door, but his mind was fixed on the photo of his father with someone else.

Since there are no keywords to be found in this file, how about looking for people?

"Peter, with these glasses on, you look almost exactly like him... You know, when you were 10, I couldn't teach you how to do your homework anymore."

"I just want to say that I know it's hard without my dad around and we don't talk about them very often."

"It's ok."

Upon hearing this, Peter put down the photo in his hand and looked at Uncle Ben.

"How can it not matter... I hope to change all this. In fact, that person is called Connors."

They have worked together for many years and are good friends, but we haven't seen him since your father's accident. He didn't even call or visit... the so-called fickleness of human nature."

Hearing this, Peter quickly entered Connors' name into the search bar of the e-commerce website and clicked.

Then, the largest and top entry appeared in front of Peter.

"Curt Connors, works for Osborn Enterprises, genetics expert."

When Peter saw the name, a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes.

Osborne?

Isn't that Harry's family business?
