"It's you. You dared to attack my city without a turban."

The demon Pecos, wearing a horned deer mask, stared at Cardan coldly. His deep voice echoed in the air, but it reached Cardan's ears clearly.

Pecos turned his head slightly, his eyes swept across the undead army summoned by Cardan, and a scornful arc appeared on the corner of his mouth: "The necromancer with such strength seems to be the guy Hamilton mentioned."

He scoffed and turned his gaze to Cardin again, "The last child to take Charlotte's legacy, and the last necromancer of Hero Academy. What was your name?"

"Cardan." Cardan's voice was deep and full of magic, as if it contained endless power.

Hearing the name, Pecos burst into laughter, with a hint of madness in his laughter: "I have been looking for you for three years, but I didn't expect you to come to my door. Welcome!"

"I'm not happy." Cardin responded coldly, without any fear in his eyes.

"I will kill you immediately, so just hand over Charlotte's inheritance." Pecos' tone was full of unquestionable command.

"Why do you want father's inheritance so much? It seems you are not short of money." Cardin tilted his head with a hint of doubt in his eyes.

Pecos sneered, "Don't you know? Or are you pretending not to know?"

He paced slowly, his footsteps sounding particularly clear in the silent air. "It seems that you don't know what you have. In that case, you don't need it, do you?"

"Click, click." The ground shook slightly with every step Pecos took.

Following his signal, the Death Knights at the front took a posture ready to charge at any time, and the Skeleton Soldiers also made "crackling" sounds, ready for battle.

"It's meaningless to those who don't understand. So hand it over while I speak nicely." Pecos warned in a low voice, a hint of threat in his tone.

"I want to hear some tough talk." Cardin shrugged, a hint of unruliness in his tone.

"Foolish human." Pecos sneered, "I don't know what you want, but whatever you want, I have no intention of giving it to you."

Cardan said, and quickly activated his magic power. Behind him, a phantom of the god of death formed by blood slowly emerged, and was immediately absorbed by Cardan, and powerful magic instantly filled his body.

"Hmph, the Necromancer is quite agile. The only Necromancer who can dodge my attacks is Charlotte."

Pecos swung his sword, and a beam of crimson Auro ray shot towards Cardan like a laser.

Cardin quickly dodged to the side, and the light passed by him and hit the ground behind him, instantly creating a deep pit.

"I told you to say something harsh, but you're praising me? You're not happy at all." Cardin repositioned himself, a hint of provocation in his eyes.

"Such a powerful guy, even if we take him to the Road of the Dead, the chances of winning are slim."

Cardan thought to himself. Facing Pecos' powerful attack, he could only dodge and had no time to fight back.

The death knights and skeleton soldiers behind him were constantly affected by Pecos' attacks and turned into ashes.

"Puff!" At this moment, a rotten hand suddenly stretched out from the ground and grabbed Pecos' ankle tightly.

Immediately afterwards, a loud noise came from the ground, as if the whole world was shaking.

As the smoke from the explosion dissipated, Pecos' figure reappeared, unharmed, as if the explosion had no effect on him at all.

"You're an interesting guy." Pecos looked at Cardin with a hint of admiration in his eyes. "I have a suggestion."

"Tell me what you want to hear first?" Cardin looked at him warily.

“Hahahahahaha!” Pecos laughed. “Give me Charlotte’s inheritance and join me.

I promise you infinite glory and eternal life.”

Cardin scoffed, "Why do you always want me to join you?"

"Because you're more useful than these idiots. Of course, that's a compliment." There was a hint of arrogance in Pecos' tone.

"Of course I am more useful than those guys who are weaker than me." Cardin smiled slightly and shook his head.

"My old master used to say something like this. 'How can a wolf join the ranks of a dog?'"

"What?" Pecos's expression changed slightly.

"Let me put it more simply... ah, right. How can a dragon join the ranks of lizardmen?" Cardin's voice was filled with sarcasm.

"You mean you're a dragon and I'm a lizard man?" Pecos seemed to find it incredible, but then he laughed.

"I admit you are confident. Well, anyway, the negotiations broke down."

"Bang!" Pecos swung his sword, and a huge laser came at Cardan like a tsunami. Cardan jumped up suddenly, but this attack could not be avoided by simply dodging.

He injected magic power into the golden ring on his finger, which was a treasure he obtained from the mercenary guild three years ago and contained the magic of "teleportation".

"Puff!" With the flash of golden light, Cardan's figure disappeared in an instant. When he appeared again, he was five meters away from the attack point.

He lay on the ground, panting slightly: "Tsk. No matter how many times I use it, I still can't get used to it."

He looked at the golden ring in his hand and thought to himself, "If I didn't have this ring, I would be dead."

Wherever the laser passed, everything was reduced to ashes, not even a blade of grass was left.

Cardan smiled bitterly and stretched out his hand to the undead army. The death knights turned into black smoke and were absorbed by him. The skeleton soldiers also turned into powder and were absorbed into his ring.

The battlefield that was originally crowded with undead creatures suddenly became empty.

"Stupid guy. Is the summoning lifted because of the undead creatures?" Pecos looked at everything in front of him, a hint of doubt flashed in his eyes.

"Are you admitting defeat?" He frowned and released the power of the demon once again. An evil aura began to gather on the tip of his sword.

"No." Cardan's voice echoed in the wind, "I don't know what you are, but you will die here today."

"Crash!" As if a tsunami was coming, a huge wave-shaped laser attacked Cardan again.

Cardan quickly activated his magic power and cast the "Road of the Dead" magic. His surroundings were instantly enveloped by dark green light, and then his figure disappeared from the spot.

Pecos' attack missed, and only a shattering sound was heard, followed by a crack in the air, and a small door-like portal slowly opened.

"Tsk. Using it for escape consumes too much mana." Cardin walked out of the portal with a hint of fatigue on his face, but his eyes were still determined.

"What an unexpected guy." Pecos looked at Cardin with a hint of surprise in his eyes.

"This is not a skill that can be used frequently. Have you revealed all your cards now?"

"Maybe?" Cardin smiled slightly, but there was a hint of unfathomableness in his eyes.

"If you are still alive, I will make you my subordinate." Pecos gathered his magic power again and prepared to launch the next attack.

"Puff!" At this moment, a flash of light appeared, and a woman in a long robe appeared in front of Cardin.

"Teleport?" Pecos was panicked for a moment, but Cardin waved at him and said with a smile: "See you next time."

The woman quickly placed her hand on Cardin's shoulder, and the two of them disappeared somewhere along with the light.

Pecos swung his sword hastily, but once again the laser only cut through the air.

"Damn you!" Pecos yelled angrily, but then he started laughing.

"It's funny that there are people among us who have no power and yet can fool me. It's funny. It's funny."

He looked back at where Cardin disappeared, with a glimmer of admiration in his eyes: “As Charlotte’s child, his personality is exactly the same.”

"Everyone go back and rest. The war is over. Get up early tomorrow to repair the city wall." Pecos turned and prepared to leave.

However, at this moment, a demon came running from the direction of the mine, panting and calling Pecos.

"Lord Pecos!"

"What's wrong?" Pecos asked impatiently.

"All the miners have disappeared! They seem to have escaped..."

"Then why are you standing here reporting to me? You should go hunt them down." Pecos shouted angrily, "Go away."

"Yes, yes!" The demon quickly turned around and left.

"Lord Pecos!" This time two demons came running from the city gate with panicked looks on their faces, "Something big has happened!"

"What's wrong with you?" Pecos sighed, with a hint of helplessness in his tone.

"There are no humans in the city. They have all disappeared like rats." A demon said in a trembling voice.

"What?" Pecos's face turned livid in an instant.

"The humans imprisoned in the prison also disappeared." Another demon added cautiously.

"Even prison?" Pecos asked incredulously.

"Yes, we have confirmed it. There is no one. The guys guarding the prison are all dead. We have confirmed it in the deepest part of the underground and saw traces of fighting. All the magic stones are broken."

"Could it be that... Instructor Bartrov is also dead?"

"It looks like this." Boom! Upon hearing the demon's answer, Pecos stomped his feet fiercely.

The ground beneath his feet shook, and the nearby demons lost their balance and staggered.

"This damn necromancer!"
