Harry Potter: Impossibly Cute

Chapter 29: Hypocritical and Poisonous Rose

Ling Bai's life became calm and he stayed at home every day. However, it was obvious that since their last conversation, Ling Bai's attitude towards Tom had become a little colder.

This left Tom at a loss for a while.

On the other hand, Draco took the initiative to learn magic after returning. He learned a lot and no longer liked to skip classes like before.

Ling Bai came twice, but Draco was so busy that he had almost no time to be with him.

Ling Bai went back.

His daily routine was to read books, send letters to Snape, and send letters to Harry.

Snape always replied quickly, but his letters to Harry Potter seemed to fall on deaf ears.

Ling Bai didn't care and just continued to write a letter to Harry every day.

Tom's manor was very big and there were many house-elves, so no one noticed that a house-elf named Dobby suddenly disappeared from the manor.

Ling Bai treated Tom with a rather cold attitude for several days in a row, which made Tom a little restless.

Ling Bai had just come down from upstairs that day when he discovered that a lot of things were piled up in the living room.

Ling Bai leaned over to take a look out of curiosity, and was a little confused after seeing what it was.

The things here are all from the Muggle world, game consoles, comic books.

These are all things that kids of his age like.

Ling Bai was still in a daze when Tom came over.

"Ahem, I heard that kids your age are very interested in new and novel things, so I asked someone to go to the Muggle world to collect these."

There was no expression of surprise on Ling Bai's face.

"Thank you, Dad, but I don't like these, please return them."

Tom's heart skipped a beat.

"Ling Bai, you are still angry with me, angry that I didn't answer your question"

"Father, you must have your reasons for not telling me. I understand."

"Ling Bai, you are still young"

"Yes, I understand, father."

Tom was silent. He didn't know how to respond to Ling Bai.

"Dad, if there's nothing else, can I go have breakfast first?"

Tom hummed and felt a headache for the first time.

At night, the moonlight was beautiful tonight and the boy's room was very quiet. The only sounds in the room were the boy's even breathing and the faint sound of wind.

The tightly closed door was quietly opened, and a tall black figure slowly walked to the bed and sat down.

The boy on the bed had a ruddy complexion. His big, bony hands reached out and touched the boy's cheek, accompanied by a slight sigh.

Tom was really at a loss as he looked at the little boy who had ignored him for several days.

Of course he didn't know how to coax the child, so whenever he saw Lucius these past two days, he asked him for methods.

Lucius was also at a loss, thinking about how to answer Tom's questions every day.

"I suddenly regret letting you enter Hogwarts"

A dull voice rang out in the silent room. Tom seemed to be talking to Ling Bai, but more so to himself.

"I really want to tell you, but I don't know how to start. I'm afraid you will hate me and blame me after you know the truth, so I always want to keep it a secret. However, sometimes I can't have the final say alone."

Tom reached out and held Ling Bai in his arms.

When Ling Bai woke up the next day, there was no one around him.

He walked downstairs in slow steps, and before he reached his destination, he smelled a burnt smell and heard the house-elf's exclamation.

Ling Bai had a bad feeling in his heart, so he quickened his pace and walked to the kitchen door.

What caught Ling Bai's eye was Tom, wearing a pink floral apron that was totally inconsistent with his personality, standing next to the stove, from Ling Bai's perspective.

I could just see the black pot and the black unknown object in the pot.

Ling Bai couldn't help but twitch the corners of his mouth.

Nagini twisted her body and came to Ling Bai, her tongue hissing.

"The owner was busy in the kitchen before dawn and had already burned two pots and a lot of unknown food."

Ling Bai walked over and heard footsteps, then Tom turned around.

"Father, what are you doing?"

"I"

Hearing the sound, Tom subconsciously hid the pot behind him.

Ling Bai noticed that Tom's originally pale hands were now covered with red marks, probably because he was burned.

Ling Bai reached out to grab the pot, but Tom hesitated for a moment and then let go.

Ling Bai spread out Tom's hand, and just as he thought, there were many red marks on it, and the most serious one even had blisters.

Ling Bai frowned her beautiful eyebrows and silently pulled Tom out of the kitchen to the living room.

Ling Bai quickly found the medical kit.

This box was prepared for him by Tom before.

Ling Bai found the ointment for treating burns and applied it to Tom without saying a word.

Tom didn't say anything either, he just lowered his head slightly like a child who had done something wrong.

“Why go to the kitchen?”

Ling Bai's sudden question left Tom at a loss for words.

Do you want him to say that he wanted to make breakfast just to make you happy?

This is what Lucius wrote in the book he gave him. Every time the hero made the heroine angry, he would make breakfast for her, and then the heroine would forgive him.

Although Ling Bai is a boy, the principle should be similar.

That's why Tom thought of giving it a try.

Unexpectedly, he didn't have any talent for cooking at all.

I've been busy for two hours since before dawn, but I haven't even succeeded in making a decent fried egg.

And in order to show his sincerity, he did not allow the house-elves to help and did not use magic.

Ling Bai suddenly sighed.

This kind of deep look made by an eleven-year-old child always gives people the feeling of pretending to be an adult.

"Dad, you always make me worry"

Ling Bai treated Tom's wound.

"Dad, do you want to make me breakfast to apologize?"

Tom looked surprised, and then felt embarrassed that his little thoughts had been guessed.

"Dad, do you feel like you owe me something? Actually, you're overthinking it. I've been cold to you these past two days because I'm just having a bad temper. But I've figured it out. You can't blame me for this. I'm sure you're sad too."

The pretty eyes stared at Tom.

"Dad must be in great pain after losing mom. How can I rub salt into his wounds? In the final analysis, it was my fault that I didn't trust him. Dad was so good to me, I should have believed him unconditionally."

Tom opened his mouth to say something, but something stuck in his throat.

His heart felt like it was being cut by a razor blade, and his body was shaking with pain.

"I won't do that anymore, Dad. No matter what you do, I will trust you unconditionally."

After saying that, Ling Bai gave Tom a big hug.

The faint scent of roses enveloped Tom, and Tom hugged Ling Bai with trembling hands.

His roses were well protected by him and grew beautifully, surrounded by flawless glass bottles.

But all this is fake, the glass is made of countless lies.

Lies will eventually be exposed, and glass will eventually break.

So what will Rose do?

Tom didn't dare to think about it. He slowly closed his eyes and suppressed the pain in his eyes.

He would never allow his rose to leave him, ever.
