Clark from the comic world

Chapter 82 Cosmic Rubik's Cube

Ten days later, a cosmic cube's new home in S.H.I.E.L.D.

Dozens of people were milling around a machine, and with the success of an experiment, everyone couldn't help but cheer.

Through research, Eric basically mastered how to activate and deactivate the function of the Cosmic Cube through power supply, that is, external energy.

The progress of this experiment made Nick Fury couldn't help but lament why the gap between people is so big. A group of his scientific researchers have been studying for more than 20 years and have only found out how to use the energy that the Rubik's Cube usually passively gathers. But they can't even do the most basic control of the Cosmic Cube's switch.

After S.H.I.E.L.D. was able to gain initial control over the Cosmic Cube, Nick Fury began to consider whether Diana could come over.

Nick Fury has two considerations for this. The first is that Diana herself has the desire to go back. If he insists on not letting Diana touch the Cosmic Cube to see if she can go back, then Nick Fury doesn't know what kind of reaction she will have.

After all, according to c's comic information, this Wonder Woman Diana is a real goddess like the Thor they came into contact with before. Although she and Thor are not from the same pantheon, the essence of their gods is the same.

So even if he was trying to stabilize Diana's mood, Nick Fury would eventually choose to let Diana come into contact with the Cosmic Cube, the culprit who brought her here.

The second reason is that Nick Fury wants to know why the previous Cosmic Cube suddenly activated. After all, he has owned this Rubik's Cube for more than 20 years, and nothing like this has ever happened before.

So after Eric was able to control the switch of the Cosmic Cube, Nick Fury wanted to let Diana touch the Cosmic Cube again to see if anything special would happen.

Nick Fury feels that as long as they can control the switch of the Cosmic Cube, even if something goes wrong, they can choose to directly turn off the Cosmic Cube to end this phenomenon.

So the next day, Colson came to Clark's flower shop and found Diana who was working part-time.

Yes, because she didn't know when she could go back, Diana wanted to find something to do, so Clark asked her to help out in his flower shop first.

"Colson, are you saying that the application has been approved?" Clark looked at Coulson who was holding a document in his hand. He didn't expect that Nick Fury would actually let them have access to the Cosmic Cube.

After all, if Clark or Diana want to take action against a rare treasure like the Cosmic Cube, Nick Fury's S.H.I.E.L.D. probably won't be able to stop them.

"Yes, the application has been approved. I'm here to take you there."

Coulson, who didn't know what was going on in Clark's mind, was thinking about their director's instructions and planned to take Clark with him. Because in Nick Fury's eyes, Clark is relatively easy to talk to, at least compared to other superheroes.

Such as Iron Man Tony Stark, Hulk Bruce Banner, and Thor. Among them, Iron Man is too arrogant, Hulk doesn't want to care about anything and is unstable, and Thor's attitude towards S.H.I.E.L.D. is not very good.

So after some thinking, Nick Fury decided to let Coulson bring Clark with him, because Nick Fury felt that if Clark was there, Diana would at least be able to restrain herself.

And if there is a fight, they will be more confident with Clark around. After all, in SHIELD's opinion, Clark is still a good and lawful camp until now.

Coulson drove Clark and Diana all the way out of New York City, and then transferred to a helicopter at a military base. In the end, it took almost more than an hour for Clark and the others to reach their destination, a SHIELD base located in a barren mountain.

When Clark and the others first arrived at the military base, he found Nick Fury already waiting on the tarmac.

Today, Nick Fury still looks the same as before, dressed in black and wearing a black windbreaker. Clark thought for a moment, and it seemed that Nick Fury had never worn any other clothes.

Does he not change clothes or only buy this one style? Looking at Nick Fury who greeted them, Clark felt that if he didn't turn on the lights at night, he would probably be able to acquire the ability of passive invisibility.

"Clark, long time no see." As Clark and the others left the helicopter, Nick Fury greeted Clark first, and then looked at Diana walking behind Clark.

Today's Diana is different from what he saw in previous videos. Today's Diana is not wearing her iconic armor, but is wearing a more casual outfit.

"Hello, you must be Ms. Diana Prince."

"I want to take a look at your Cosmic Cube first, okay?" Because of the Doomsday, Diana was actually a little anxious about going back. The reason why she didn't show it these days was because she knew that apart from this Rubik's Cube, she might not be able to find any other item with the ability to travel through time and space.

"Of course!" With that, Nick Fury took the lead and walked inside.

Following a huge spiral staircase, Clark and Diana followed Nick Fury to an underground laboratory.

"Have you hollowed out the entire mountain?"

Clark measured the distance above their heads and deduced that their location should be several hundred meters underground.

"This doesn't seem to be the same place as last time?" Diana also looked at the surrounding environment and found that it was different from her last time.

"Many of the facilities in the base last time were a bit old and out of date, so we moved here. By the way, Clark, there is an acquaintance of yours here." Coulson changed the subject after a little explanation. He couldn't tell because last time he asked Diana to take down the entire base alone, and then he changed the base as a precaution.

"Acquaintances?" Listening to Coulson's words, Clark's mind flashed to the people he knew from SHIELD. But then he thought about it and felt something was wrong. This is the place where SHIELD belongs, so wouldn't it be normal for him to meet people from SHIELD? So if it was someone from SHIELD, Coulson wouldn't have to tell him.

But when Clark thought about it again, he felt that few of the people he knew would appear in SHIELD.

Before Clark even opened his eyes to take a look, they would meet the familiar person. Then after turning a corner, Clark knew the answer, because he saw the extremely smart uncle who often hung out with Jane.

"Eric! Why are you here? Are Thor and the others here too?"

After seeing Eric, Clark couldn't help but think of Jane and Daisy who often hung out with him, and also thought of Thor who now stayed on Earth every day and had never returned to Asgard.

Then Clark thought about whether Thor was coming to recover the Cosmic Cube, but there was nothing wrong with the Rainbow Bridge. What did Asgard want with the Cosmic Cube?

"No, I'm the only one here. I'm helping SHIELD research this thing." Eric pointed to a blue square embedded in a circular machine.

"Is this the Cosmic Rubik's Cube?" Looking at the beautiful blue cube in front of him, an idea suddenly came to Clark's mind. If he had shot this Cosmic Rubik's Cube now, then the plot of Avengers 1 would not have happened.

If there was no Avengers 1, then a lot of things that followed probably wouldn't have happened. But then Clark thought about it and realized that although the content of Avengers 3 was somewhat related to the previous ones, these previous plots did not actually affect Avengers 3.

After all, Thanos planned to invade the earth to seize the two infinite stones of space and time after the death of Odin. In other words, regardless of the previous plots, Thanos' journey will begin as soon as Odin dies.
