Knight with Wand

Chapter 35 Opportunity

Under the windmill on the north slope, six horses of the Kantadar mercenaries were tied to one side.

Three mercenaries, with swords on their waists, leisurely looked at the chaos in the village, pointing and chatting, and regretting that they could not participate in the looting at the foot of the mountain.

On the top floor of the windmill tower, only one of the other three mercenaries on guard stood by the window and looked into the distance, while the other two sat in the corner and took a lazy nap.

Leon carefully withdrew his prying eyes from the edge of the hole on the top of the tower.

The three of them had been hiding on the top of the windmill tower for several hours, but they still had no chance to escape.

Last night, more than a dozen Kantadar cavalrymen occupied the mill.

These were not wild goblins or village ruffians. Facing so many skilled archers and fully armed warriors, the three teenagers had no chance of winning.

Although most of the cavalry rushed into the village of Selva at the foot of the mountain at dawn, only six cavalry were left inside and outside the mill tower. However, after estimating the difference in strength between them, Leon still did not dare to risk a confrontation.

The enemy was in groups of three, and it was impossible to catch a single one. Once exposed, it would be three against six. Whether it was Leon, Lohak, or Azerien, it was simply a pipe dream to fight two cavalry at the same time.

If only I could have the martial arts of Olivia

In the predicament, Leon could not help but sigh in his heart as Lohak had said before.

Thinking of the blonde girl, he could not help but look at the village at the foot of the mountain with worry.

Although it was not clear, Leon and others watched the scene of a large group of cavalry attacking Selva from all sides silently.

This could not fail to affect Olivia who lived in the village.

But the three young men hiding on the top of the tower could not protect themselves at the moment, and they were helpless except for indignation.

As if the tragedy that was repeated brought back painful memories, Lohak turned his head and closed his eyes, unable to bear to look directly at the disaster below the mountain.

Leon could only sigh in his heart and secretly pray that the kind girl could break out of the siege with her superb swordsmanship.

Suddenly, the sound of horse hooves approached from not far away.

The three of them carefully lay on their backs to hide their bodies to avoid being seen by people in the distance.

Inside and outside the windmill, the stationed cavalry looked over.

Three mercenary companions with bulging bags rode over on horses. One of them had a little girl with brown hair tied to her horse's back, her mouth blocked by rags, sobbing.

(Uriah) "Why are you three back?" asked a mercenary cavalry stationed there.

"The boss asked us to change shifts, and it happened that the brothers were tired of robbing. What? Are you still not happy?" The leading pockmarked cavalryman pulled the reins, turned over and dismounted, and laughed and scolded.

"You guys have a lot of hauls, this broken village is so lucrative?"

"Hey, don't mention it, there's nothing lucrative, it's all rubbish, the houses of the slightly richer families were all robbed clean by the servants of those knights, and we just grabbed some grease."

After complaining, the pockmarked face suddenly changed the subject, and said with a gloating expression: "But they hit a wall, some people have the life to rob but not the life to spend."

"What do you mean? Such a small village still resisted? Did we lose people?" A Kantadar cavalryman who stayed behind to keep watch was surprised.

"We lost one, the baron's men lost two, and a knight's leg was broken. If the baron hadn't led his men there quickly, the knight would have died. He's still lying in bed now. It's miserable, a disaster, tut tut tut"

The pockmarked face talked a lot.

"Tell me in detail, what's going on? Are the militias in this village so powerful?"

The few people who stayed there became interested and gathered around to listen to his story.

"There are no militias. It was a little girl and an old man who killed three of us along the way and almost escaped on horseback. The injured knight was knocked down by the little girl."

"Ah~ You're just kidding!"

After hearing this, several people didn't believe it at all, thinking that the pockmarked face was bragging.

"Fuck, if you don't believe it, forget it. Can't you go to the village to ask?"

The pockmarked face didn't bother to pay attention to them.

But it was understandable. If he hadn't seen the blonde girl holding the knight hostage and confronting the baron, he probably wouldn't dare to believe such a ridiculous thing.

A petite fifteen or sixteen-year-old girl, wearing a corset dress, defeated a heavy-armored noble knight who weighed twice as much as herself with only a sword.

Even drunkards in the tavern can't brag so much.

The pockmarked face didn't even dare to think about how the knight's precious warhorse was chopped down. He was just glad that he was not blocking the road at the entrance of the village at that time.

"Just that little girl? I don't think she killed you." A cavalryman smiled lewdly and patted the brown-haired girl he had captured on the other horse's back, and began to rub her without any hesitation.

The girl struggled violently in fear.

The pockmarked face opened the man's dirty hand unhappily: "Don't touch my things, I haven't even started playing with them yet, and you want to take them for yourself!"

The cavalrymen had no choice but to disperse with laughter. One of them went upstairs to wake up his companions, and everyone got on their mounts and drove away.

The pockmarked face tied up the horse and carried the captured girl off the horse. He did not forget to turn back and instruct one of his men to go to the top floor to stand guard, and another to keep watch at the door: "Don't worry, you two, wait until I'm done, then it's your turn to play."

After giving the order, he patted the crying girl on his shoulder, walked into the mill and laughed lewdly: "Haha, don't scream, save some strength, I'll make you scream even louder later."

On the top of the tower, Leon and the other two quietly watched the backs of the original six cavalrymen gradually disappear.

Although he didn't know what the Kantardars downstairs were saying, he took a peek down the tower.

The six people had become three, and not only that, the three Kantardar soldiers had also separated.

One was sitting alone at the door of the mill watching the horses.

Two entered the windmill tower.

Leon turned his head and looked at his companions at the hole.

Lohak poked his head out of the hole and glanced at the third floor.

After a while, he raised his head and raised a finger to Leon, indicating that he saw only one person on the top floor.

Good opportunity!

Leon pushed Azerien's shoulder beside him, indicating that he was ready to take action.

After waiting for several hours in the cold wind on the top of the tower, now was the best opportunity to escape.

The three enemies were completely alone, one was on guard at the top window, and the other was guarding the door outside the windmill.

The guy who was carrying the village girl and preparing to do dirty things must be on the first or second floor indoors.

Leon held the scabbard on his waist firmly, fearing that it would make a sound. He and Azerien crept to the cave entrance to observe.

There was indeed only one Kantadar mercenary with a bow slung over his shoulder, looking into the distance boredly by the window.

He could still vaguely hear the girl's scream of fear and the rough and mean laughter of the pockmarked cavalryman from the lower floor of the windmill tower.

Leon analyzed that the other party must be trying to act on the second floor. If it was on the first floor, they would not be able to hear it so clearly on the top of the tower.

Pointing to the soldier standing guard at the window below, he signaled to his companions to start with this one.
