Lords: From Civilization to the Stars

Chapter 9: Wonder Construction: Stonehenge (Magic)

Polar night is a phenomenon that often occurs in the polar circle.

Sunlight will not penetrate the curtain lowered by the dark gods, and the evil twin moons will always emit purple-green light in the sky, spreading curses to the entire world.

And the twisted aurora dancing in the night sky represents the laughter and disdain of the dark gods. They use their most beautiful gestures to forge the world's most terrifying malice to remind all humans how they should appear in this world.

During the polar night, Norscans often hide in their rooms.

They would pray in front of their idols and pray that the dark gods would have some compassion for their humble self.

Countless sins and cruel atrocities spread out in the eternal night. The evil beasts in the nightmare legend ran rampant and crushed the hopes of all Norscans.

It is precisely because of living in this icy and morbid world that the Norscans are so crazy and cruel. They do whatever it takes to keep their species alive.

Even if it means sacrificing other species and making the future unclear.

But this phenomenon strangely disappeared on this extreme island.

It was clearly night, the most exciting time for all twisted creations. Even the ripple-like aurora was already shining in the sky, but the Norscans stood on the snow and hills without any feeling of being corroded.

Looking at the twin moons and the bright aurora in the sky, the light that can twist and mutate humans into eggs no longer has the evil magic power.

It's like a kind of lighting, a natural phenomenon.

A pale green light covered the snowfields and hills, illuminating the figures of the busy Norscans.

They held invisible props in the ice and snow, looked at the pitch-black hills with their own thoughts, and then pulled out large rocks from the mountains out of thin air.

The Norscans who accepted Leon's order are using their complete understanding of the productivity creation of the Ancient Saint's laboratory to pull out huge rocks from the hills and gradually begin to stand on the snowy field.

These black rocks float in mid-air contrary to common sense, complementing the aurora forged by the sky gods.

People below use the productivity of nothingness to forge the magnificent spectacle of existence in their minds.

Pieces of stones began to intersect and float in the void. As the boulders gradually built up, everyone even felt that there seemed to be some strange, whispering sounds coming from around them.

The structure of the great spectacle is affecting the energy of all magic around it, even causing a slight fluctuation in the curtain between reality and illusion. The demons whisper in the void, and their malicious sight is enough to make any unsuspecting ordinary person scream madly.

However, to these Norscans who were manipulating the creations of the Old Ones, the demon's gaze was ridiculous.

They are carrying out the will of the Old Ones, and no one can stop them.

"I thought I was dead at first, Ulfric."

The man wearing a wolfskin hood burped loudly, stood next to Ulfric with a calm expression, looked at the floating Stonehenge in the sky, and said with a smile:

"It's hard to imagine that we haven't even had a day now. In the morning we were still worrying about lunch, but now we are enjoying the delicacies of the gods and manipulating mythical props to create wonders."

"Indeed, I even thought he wanted us to be sacrifices after we had enough to eat and drink."

Looking at the boulders trembling under the green aurora and exuding strange magic, Ulfric felt the instinct of manipulation in his mind and took a deep breath on the ice field.

This was something that was impossible to do in the past.

When the aurora arrives and both moons rise simultaneously, all negative emotions and thoughts will turn into nightmares and erode people's hearts.

But what now?

The Norscans ate the best food in their dreams, manipulated invisible divine power, and began to forge the great wonders in the legend, even under the moonlight at night without any problems.

I'm afraid there is only one answer.

"Because he is a god, although he is definitely not a god who understands people's hearts."

Some fragments peeled off in mid-air, and indescribable lines began to shine on the suspended boulders. Ulfric controlled his tools and said with certainty:

"He can't understand the human heart at all, that's how I feel. He can't relate to us at all."

"Maybe he just doesn't care?"

"He should care. At least he shouldn't be lying when he said his contract and promise to love humans, but I always feel that there seems to be something wrong with his love."

"You have given us such great grace, but you still say that. Is it a bit too much?"

"Of course I know it's outrageous, but all this is just inexplicable."

Ulfric even gritted his teeth as he looked at the floating boulders in the sky that were gradually peeling off their surface and leaving mysterious lines on them.

“If he really loved us, then at least we shouldn’t be out here in the middle of the night building some weird Stonehenge.

Even, damn, why do we know how to build Stonehenge? Why do I know how to use these gods' tools to trim stones?

I feel like I built this thing in a way that I'm used to touching pussy. "

"I just hope today is not a dream, Ulfric. If it were a dream, it would be too cruel for us."

"Of course this is not a dream. No one's dream is so noisy."

Listening to the increasingly clear whispers from another world, Ulfric's cheek twitched, revealing a somewhat dissatisfied expression.

"After all, in order to build this Stonehenge, we still have to exercise."

And the moment Ulfric's voice fell, a huge crack suddenly tore open in the center of the snowfield surrounded by all the boulders.

The crack that was not like a natural creation at all came with a terrifying and vicious breath, and a huge demon that was even several meters tall came out of the crack cursing.

His eyes were sulfur flames, and his voice was a vicious curse. The surroundings were filled with exploding shadows. Even the mere footprints on the snowfield, the cruel brutality and magic ignited the snowfield at the feet.

And the giant monster looked at the floating stones and Norscans around him, and roared in anger.

"You really don't know how to live or die! Human! How dare you lock all the magic around you? How dare you be so bold!"

"I think this has nothing to do with us."

Ulfric took off the giant sword behind him and shrugged at the roaring giant demon.

"After all, we are just following orders. I don't know why this thing must be done and what it can accomplish.

But, you are really going to die."

"What? You lowly bug dares--"

Before the huge shadow that came out of the void could roar, Ulfric's sword was thrown out in an instant, and pierced through the skull of the tall demon in the blink of an eye.

The huge burning demon that was several meters high fell to the ground without a sound.

The Norscans present looked at this scene without even a trace of surprise, and continued to build the floating stone circle.

For two reasons.

The first reason is that in their architectural knowledge, in order to forge this great magical stone circle, each stone itself needs a huge demon to provide energy for manipulation. This is a necessary construction process.

The second reason is even simpler. They feel that no one can beat Ulfric.

"If you have any opinions, go to our boss, demon brother, I am just a worker.

But it seems that you only dare to go to me."

Stepping on the huge head of the demon, Ulfric slowly pulled out the giant sword from its brain and commented indifferently.

And the dead demon turned into a handful of shadows in the blink of an eye, howling in an unnatural form, and was involved in the floating boulders in the sky, and instantly turned into a brand, shining with light.

"There are ten left."

Dragging the long sword aside and placing it on the stone, Ulfric sat on the edge, took out his treasured wine from his arms and drank a sip, and slowly breathed a sigh of relief.

"... Damn, it's better to drink in the Land of Advent."

Bathed in the light of the evil moon, Ulfric commented indignantly.

And soon, the soft and fragmented whispers sounded again in his ears.

The construction is about to start again.
