Martin Variety in American Comics

The motorcycle sped along the highway, heading away from Blue Valley. Artemis was in a daze, this being the first time in her life she had left Blue Valley, and it was because her parents might have committed a serious crime.
The overly stimulating truth left the young girl unsure how to process it, causing her body to briefly shut down, using numbness to alleviate the pain.
"You know, when you ran out of my office crying just now, the whole school thought I was bullying you. Even your friend came right up to me and said she was going to teach me a lesson."
Martin knew the state the girl on the back of the motorcycle was in, and deliberately used realistic words to stimulate her, pulling her out of that numb state.
People are prone to inertia. If someone trained becomes accustomed to the numbness brought on by mental trauma, it won't be long before they become useless.
Since Artemis and her parents had nothing to do with the project, Martin certainly couldn't stand by and watch a child fall into depravity.
"My friend? Are you talking about Cindy?"
Artemis's dim eyes sparkled, and she hurriedly asked.
"She said her name was Cindy. Do you know she's a modified human? Her body's recovery speed rivals that of Wolverine, and she can pop out two steel blades from her wrists. After rigorous training, she can take a person's life without changing her expression."
Martin didn't exaggerate at all, truthfully recounting what he had just seen.
Artemis almost thought there was something wrong with her ears and couldn't help but ask, "Are you kidding me?"
Martin retorted, "Is there anything funny about this?"
"No! Cindy can be sarcastic sometimes, but she's a good friend."
Artemis's voice became very soft, and a feeling that the world was absurd suddenly arose in her heart.
Could it be that the world she had lived in since childhood was fake?
"Maybe she is a good friend. To avenge you, she didn't hesitate to expose her identity."
Martin wasn't very interested in that Cindy. It would take a lot of time and energy to bring that modified girl over to his side.
If she had something on her that Martin was interested in, he might have tried, but judging by her appearance, it didn't seem like she was forced.
So, Martin kept her around just to see the reaction of the people behind her.
"Alright, this is it!"
After Martin rode the motorcycle out of the Blue Valley area, he turned into a forest and stopped.
Buzz!
Martin took out the Mother Box and shook it gently, directly disrupting the surrounding magnetic field to ensure there was no surveillance, and then opened a Boom Tube.
"Go in. The other end of the tunnel is Central City. There are people waiting for you there. They will take you to see your parents. After it's over, give me a call, and I'll pick you up or make other arrangements."
Martin gently pushed Artemis, encouraging her to boldly step into the Boom Tube.
"Aren't you coming with me?"
Having just experienced a great shock, Artemis was no longer as bold as usual. Looking at the Boom Tube in front of her, she tried to seek support from her teacher, Martin.
"I have other tasks and can't accompany you. But don't worry, my friends are at the other end of the tunnel, and they will take good care of you."
If he didn't have anything else to do, Martin wouldn't have minded accompanying Artemis on this trip.
"This is my number, remember it, don't make a mistake!"
Artemis took a deep breath, entered Martin's number into her phone, and then mustered her courage to step into the Boom Tube.
Before she completely entered the tunnel, she couldn't help but turn her head to look at her teacher, and saw Martin smile.
The panic in Artemis's heart eased a lot. She took the last step and completely disappeared from this forest.
After Martin sent Artemis away, he didn't open the Boom Tube to return directly to Blue Valley.
He took out the Green Lantern Power Battery, and the green light materialized a plane that could be physically invisible, flew directly to a height of one thousand meters, and quietly monitored the road he had taken out of Blue Valley.
Green Lantern energy itself appears in the material world in the form of light. As long as the frequency is adjusted, invisibility is not difficult for a Green Lantern.
Although Martin didn't have the artificial intelligence assistance created by the Guardians, he still had Gideon.
Gideon, from the future, had followed the Flash day and night, recording many secrets about any alliance, including the future Hal's experience in controlling the frequency of Green Lantern energy.
Martin directly took that set of numbers, plugged it into the Green Lantern energy plane, and completed the invisibility.
Soon Martin's persistence paid off. The stalkers on the road discovered that their target was lost, rushed into the forest, found nothing, and quickly left.
Those people were very professional, skilled in tracking, camouflage, and searching.
If Martin hadn't used this trick to attract their attention, thereby inducing them to get out of the car to check, it would have been difficult to discover these trackers who had only disassembled a few old cars for disguise.
Martin watched from high in the sky, sending trackers to each of them, firmly attaching them to those cars, no matter how hard they tried to shake them off.
After doing all this, he flew around Blue Valley and found that this quiet little town had some noisy sounds.
Martin believed that it wouldn't be long before these noisy sounds would turn into monstrous waves, and the peaceful life of Blue Valley would break the evil hidden beneath the beauty, and it would inevitably reveal its true form.
……
At the entrance of the Blue Valley Town Hall, Henry King, as a councilman, walked out of the office, preparing to get into his car.
He had just heard that Artemis Crock had been forcibly taken away by a teacher. What was even more shocking was that the school principal who came to inform him claimed that the teacher who took the student away was a superhero from the Justice League.
This sudden change made Henry feel confused, unsure of what was happening.
Until now, he was still troubled by how to get the Crock couple out of jail. Although he was a councilman in Blue Valley, he had no influence in Central City.
What's more, the Central City police didn't even detain the Crock couple. They just talked to the couple as a formality, and then handed them over to the Justice League to guard.
So, even if Henry offered a high price, there were only a few policemen willing to intervene in this matter, the risk was too high. Once discovered, their lives would be over.
And those who were willing to accept his bribes were all those who had no hope for the rest of their lives and wanted to take a gamble. But the abilities of these policemen were generally limited, and it was almost impossible to get people out of the hands of the Justice League.
Moreover, Central City was not as chaotic as Gotham, so the police were unwilling to risk spending the rest of their lives in jail to help him bail people out.
Because there was a severe lack of available manpower, Henry had to temporarily abandon rescuing the Crock couple to avoid greater losses.
According to his plan, the entire Blue Valley should be low-key now. As long as they survived the Justice League's investigation, the rest would be easy.
But things in the world are so wonderful, they always develop in the direction people don't want to see.
Just when Henry thought that the abduction of the Crock couple's daughter was already bad enough, he received another piece of news.
A girl at Blue Valley High School had been sent to the hospital, and someone had seen her attacking the teacher who wanted to take Artemis away.
"Am I haunted today? How can bad things happen one after another?"
Henry widened his eyes, feeling the blood vessels on his head swelling.
He grabbed the railing beside him, not using much force, but some special power emanated from his palm, twisting the railing into a pretzel.
"Go notify everyone to gather, we're in real trouble."
Henry, or the Brainwave of the Injustice Society, quickly realized that they were not being targeted by the Justice League, but that the Justice League had already come to Blue Valley.
Each of them faced danger, and the slightest wrong step could lead to destruction.
"Send someone to monitor Starman's house!"
While Brainwave was calling people, he didn't forget to monitor the dangerous factors at hand.
The subordinate said tremblingly, "This morning, Starman's wife didn't go to work, his children didn't go to school, and he himself stayed at home and didn't leave."
Hearing the subordinate's late report, Brainwave almost blacked out:
"Why didn't you report such an important matter to me in time? I've emphasized many times that that guy is the last member of the Justice Society, and we must not underestimate him."
If it weren't in public, Brainwave would definitely use his telekinesis to crush the head of this slow-witted subordinate, letting him know the price of stupidity.
"Get out of here, go and complete the task I assigned to you immediately, and keep Starman under close surveillance. If there is the slightest mistake, I will immediately crush your head."
Under the boss's fierce gaze, this subordinate left quickly.
Brainwave's real name is Henry King. Due to the excessive development of the hypothalamus, he has gained super brainpower, including telepathy, illusion casting, mental control, and thought projection, and can even fly freely.
He was born before World War II, as was the entire Injustice Society.
But he now looks at most 40 years old, very refined, wearing a pair of glasses and not looking like a villain at all.
"Damn it, I shouldn't have agreed to clean up the mess for that idiot Luthor."
Brainwave's face was gloomy, wanting to find the teacher named Martin, temporarily block this gap before he could find a way to deal with bigger trouble.
But the news from the team sent to arrest people made Brainwave even more annoyed: "Flying in the sky, running on the ground, using space teleportation... there are many ways to leave, indeed. That guy can also leave at any time, but how do you know he's really left?"
"What, Artemis has also disappeared? A Justice League member who dares to break into Blue Valley, do you think he wouldn't have a way to deal with a minor girl?"
"I don't care what methods you use, you must determine whether that teacher has really left, or where he's hiding."
Brainwave loosened his tie, looking quite annoyed.
He got into his car, ran through Blue Valley in a zig-zag pattern, and finally entered a secret entrance and entered the underground base from there.
The moment he walked out of the base, he saw a man with a burlap sack over his head, with holes for the eyes and mouth on the front of the sack, and a dragon embroidered on it.
This Japanese man, codenamed "Dragon King", was a member of the Kwantung Army's Unit 731, specializing in human modification and searching for various ancient treasures.
During World War II, he repeatedly attacked American troops, was blacklisted, and the US military refused his surrender.
To save his life, Dragon King transformed himself into a lizard, thereby joining the Injustice Society, and has been conducting secret research for the Injustice Society for many years.
"I heard Cindy was attacked, how is she now?"
Brainwave wasn't in a hurry to talk about the Justice League, but first cared about the other party's daughter.
"My daughter's modification was very successful, she didn't suffer any fatal injuries. But I extracted a special energy from my daughter, which is very similar to the energy of a Green Lantern."
Dragon King can be said to be completely unconcerned about his daughter's injuries, he only said one sentence and then turned the matter to work.
"Green Lantern? The stubborn guys from the Justice Society have all disappeared, how could another Green Lantern pop up?"
Brainwave was very surprised.
Although there were many rumors outside that the Injustice Society had killed all the members of the Justice Society, these core members knew that it was just a rumor.
What exactly happened on the night the Justice Society members disappeared, the villains of the Injustice Society didn't know either.
They all still remembered that night, the sudden strong light covered everything, and the members of both the Justice Society and the Injustice Society lost their ability to resist under the strong light.
When the people of the Injustice Society woke up, everything was over, the members of the Justice Society had disappeared cleanly, leaving only one Starman and those who had already withdrawn.
If it weren't for this reason, the Injustice Society would definitely have destroyed all the Justice Society's props after winning.
"Accurately speaking, this energy is very different from the energy of our old friend, but only a difference in frequency."
Dragon King talked eloquently, as if he was going to keep talking.
Brainwave interrupted him and asked, "You just need to tell me whether the person who attacked Cindy used Green Lantern energy, that's enough?"
"The other party did use this energy, and I estimate that the other party is holding Alan Scott's Power Battery."
"That's enough, that Starman must be colluding with the Justice League. He moved to Blue Valley this time to destroy our plan."
Brainwave directly linked Starman with the Justice League, and made his own inferences, with many gaps in between.
But for this kind of person, the intermediate deviating reasoning link is not important.
Soon, Icicle, Wizard, Gambler, Fiddler, these members of the Injustice Society came out one by one.
If there were locals from Blue Valley here, they would definitely recognize that these villains present were the leaders of various industries in the city.
"Everyone, you should all be clear about the accident that happened last night. The Justice League has sent people to infiltrate Blue Valley, first taking away the Crock couple's daughter, and then attacking Dragon King's daughter."
"That Starman of the Justice Society is also colluding with the Justice League, and everything we have worked so hard to build is facing the risk of collapse."
